Justin had just left the office of his ex-mother-in-law when the weight of the conversation he had had with her begin to settle in properly. He had won or so he thought. At least he got her to talk and admit to her crimes without doing much. Well, he had done much because he would not have been able to confront her like that if he had not pulled some strings behind the scenes to weaken her defenses. But he knew that was not the end. His ex-mother-in-law does not look like someone who would easily accept to go down willingly. Even after the confession, she would still try to do something to defend herself. As he left the building in his car, his mind was already thinking about the next phase of his plan. His ex-mother-in-law was now a cornered animal and cornered animals were the most dangerous. Her confession had been a victory but it was just one part of the whole puzzle. He had to make sure that she does not try to retaliate or somehow try to escape the consequences of her actions.
“Mark, this is what you would do. I want you to get our legal team involved now.” Justin said with an icy voice, it was filled with determination. “We need to ensure we gather everything we have on her, and we need to expose her for what she is doing or intends to do before she gets a chance to act.”“Okay boss, understood.” Mark replied, he sounded more determined too. It was like his boss's determined spirit rubbed off on him. “We will need to act quickly. If we do not act on time, whatever move she is trying to make now, she could tarnish your reputation before we can even get a chance to stop her.”“I know. I understand.” Justin said. “ Let us make sure that does not happen. But just that this time around, I want to go beyond legal action. I want her to feel the pressure from me. She needs to be aware and understand that there is no way out for her, no matter how many people she tries to pull down as she goes down too.”“Okay boss. I will get right to it.” Mark replied as he hung
As Mrs Tucsons sat in her simple yet elegantly designed office, her mind raced with many thoughts. She could literally feel the weight of Justin's threats looming all over her. She had tried to make moves but she was also cautious, even though she didn't think it through. The Justin she saw in her office some moments ago did not know look like the timid son in law she used to know. If he actually goes ahead with his threats of destroying her, she felt like she may have no chance against him. Not especially in a case as the one she was involved in.But then, she was not the one to be so easily intimidated. For one, she did not kill his mother. But her involvement was so deep that it would be very hard to convince anyone otherwise, not to talk of the late person's biological child. A child who grew up yo be part of her life and family via his marriage to her daughter. She would do anything to fight against his inevitable assault. She also have a reputation for turning things around to s
Justin's assistant, Mark, turned around to leave the office after nodding to his boss. He needed to go make the necessary calls to put their plan into motion. After he slammed the door of the office behind him as he stepped outside, Justin leaned back in his chair, allowing himself a moment of quiet reflection and satisfaction. His plan seems to be falling in place. His ex mother in law had always underestimated him. She did that alot when he was still married to her daughter. And that was something he had used to his advantage. And even till now, he is quite sure she does not think that much of him or whatever influence he might have. But he is many things more than her that she is not aware of. His vast network of allies would be the one to tear down her reputation, business and whatever she holds dear.Meanwhile, in Mrs Tucsons world, she was beginning to panic. She had thought she could put up a final fight before Justin do whatever he intends to do but somehow, those she had reli
Mrs Tuscons sat in her bed room at her home. The home, which is usually a place of comfort for her now seems like a prison and uncomfortable. She was sitting close to the window side as she looked down at the streets. The city lights casting a dim glow across the room. It should have been a peaceful evening, a time for cool conversation with her husband and daughters if they were around but her mind was full of unrest. Her business was failing, her trusted allies were turning on her and the press has gotten wind of the news about her, painting her as the villain in a scandal that have her trapped. Her only saving grace is that for now, her name has not been mentioned but she knew it was only a matter of time before that happens. She had always thought and prided herself that she is not touchable, based on the belief that no matter the situation, she would always find her way out of it. But now, with everything happening at once, she realized this was actually different. Her business w
“Is there any way to stop this?” she asked, her voice strained. The assistant hesitated before speaking, his eyes casting downward. “It’s too late. They’ve already begun the process. You can’t fight it. The authorities are determined to go through with it.”Margaret’s mind raced. She could feel the familiar panic rising in her chest, the same panic she had always been able to quell with a quick word or a well-placed favor. But now, there was no escaping this. There were no favors left to call in, no backroom deals to be made. Justin’s influence had overpowered everything she had once relied on.Her thoughts were interrupted by a phone call. The screen flashed Justin’s name. A wave of anger surged through her as she reached for the phone, her hands trembling with rage and fear. This was it. The final blow.“Margaret,” Justin’s voice was calm, almost casual, as though they were having an ordinary conversation. “I’m afraid you’re running out of time.”Her grip tightened around the phone.
She sat in her bedroom, staring out at the city's dark skies. The towering skyscrapers reminded her of the influence she used to have, which has now been reduced to nothingness by a former son in law that she did not treat well when he and her daughter we're still married. In fact, she even clamoured for their divorce so her daughter could be available and eligible for more made men. She now felt isolated, caused by Justin. He had taken everything from her.She had been desperate for awhile but when ever she makes a move to retaliate back to Justin, he usually shows that he is always many steps ahead of her. It is like he anticipated her every move. But she can not face the consequences of what Justin wanted her to face. She needed to escape. Since her hopes of fighting back have been vanquished, she can only do one thing. And that is to leave town, to a place where she was sure Justin would not be able to touch her. Or better still, leave the country. That seems like a much more bett
But what she did not know was that Justin was not a fool. He was highly intelligent and had anticipated she would try to run away from the country. For a situation like this, no one would agree to be defamed like that after losing all their properties and everything that defines them, regardless of whether they committed a crime or not.He had expected her to run away from the country now that everything seems to be against her and she have no option to fight back effectively. And he had made preparation to make sure that does not happen or make her not go far.His ever trusted assistant, Mark, came into his office with a laptop in his hand. His face was lit by the glow of the screen. “Boss, we have intercepted communication from Mrs Tuscons's network. It appears like she is indeed making a run for it. She was in contact with someone, trying to arrange a secret trip outside the country. She is clearly trying to escape.”Justin leaned back in his chair as he heard the report. A small
