Chapter 8:

"Step 1. Be unpredictable,"

The robots were a challenge. One spun and tried to kick me, I clasped its foot in-between my hands and my knee went down and my foot pushed backwards against the ground.

My hands crackled with electricity. Its eyes flashed, and I staggered forward when the other one booted me on the back of my head. I almost blacked out when I collided with the first one.

I dropped and crawled away with a hand on my head and shuddered. Then my senses spurred on and I spun my body up, on my hands to evade a sweeping kick and flipped back blocking a heavy fist and I slammed my foot into the red bot's knee, it sparked after I crippled it.

Their eyes flashed red.

More emerged from the suitcase doubling up to fourteen_as much as I could count. "There's too many!" I said disoriented by them shuffling again.

Mister Wigglesworth clenched his fist. "It's not about the size of a dog in a fight, it's about the size of the fight in a dog!"

"I am not a dog!!" I blocked my face on the ground as the robots gathered stomping on me.

...

I rotated my shoulder walking home and groaned at the single hole on my white shirt and wore a hoodie. I walked past her house and snorted from where she stood talking to Morty.

"Zack!"

She jogged and I braced for impact swivelling around her to avoid her attack.

"Don't come any closer!"

"Did you hit your head or something?" To allow for some space and she softened.

"Morty told me you were sick last night,"

Squeamish? 'That's Morty all right,' I mumbled. Morty was trying not to laugh.

"There you are, my dude," Morty straggled in between us and I shoved him to the front and frowned.

"You sick dog," She kissed me on the cheek and my eyes rolled up. "Uhhhhh...." I thought I just lost 50% per cent of my brain capacity because I couldn't say much.

"That's me. Good old dog," It was a good thing Frank wasn't here to hear this.

"Ooh la la." Morty said a bit too loudly.

I started to walk away holding my stiff shoulder and so did he. "Knock it off Morty," I said again.

He knew about my crush and kept bullying me to make a move. "Damn."

It seemed off raving about my attraction to an android. If that were the real Kendra, he would've agreed anyway. Some friend he is.

He caught up with me and he was grinning like an idiot then he jostled my shoulder. "Okay Zack, it seems weird but I'm sorry if you thought I was zeroing in on your girl...I mean...Are we cool?"

It still hurts from the fight. "She's not my girl. She's free as a bird and..."

"Not until you say something." He said.

"Look, I'm really sorry about the way I treated you, if I'd known I picked up an android as a date sooner then...oh he's still glaring at me..." He rubbed his neck. "Then I wouldn't have it any other way," I was stunned at the way he said it. But it had to feel innate if I don't want him to know I'm the...the...what am I exactly?

[ A Mecha Knight, Sir ] Ash repeated.

We went home. "You don't need to go over_ugh!,"

"...then this dressed up guy that's a mix between Zoro and Jimmy Bond_"

He did not just say that. "_ shows up in when she's gone. He asked about the box but I can't be too careful." He went on again and the Morphin Box caught my eyes when it morphed into a crescent floating on his hand.

It was constantly altering itself.

"How long has it been doing that?" I asked reaching for it and it dropped.

"I dunno, it happens when I touch it," It changed into a heap of chains and I grabbed the Morphin Box and it dropped on my thighs as a prism again.

"You think it's broken?"
