Arrested by the Police

"Corpse? Ohh gosh, whose corpse is this?"

"What a horrible death!"

"Oohh, what an unfortunate fate."

Murmured the neighborhood residents who were already in Raizel's yard. They all gathered to witness the discovery of the corpse by the woman with various expressions. Some were curious, turned their faces away in horror, covered their noses and many more.

"Call an ambulance or the police!" an older man ordered. He squatted down and tapped her shoulder.

"Are you okay, girl?" The old man asked anxiously. He bent down, observing the woman who was curled up hugging her knees.

The woman raised her head, she immediately turned her face and body opposite the corpse of the chief thug. Only then did she respond to the old man's question, "I-I'm quite well."

"Please call the hospital, or whoever to take care of the corpse! I only found it, I'm not the culprit!" The woman shook her head while crying, she was still scared and didn't want to get involved with the corpse.

"Calm down, girl. We know you're not the culprit, the police are still on their way. So put your mind at ease. What's your name?" The old man was trying to reconcile the woman's state of mind as he asked her.

"I am Moksee, a resident of this complex as well," replied Moksee, who had managed to control her fear, looking relaxed.

The old man was quite relieved to hear it, he nodded while smiling at Moksee. His words were true, it didn't take long for the police to come and take over the corpse case. The crowd was dispersed by the police, all the residents of the compound left except Moksee and the old man.

"Do you own this house?" The police officer asked the old man.

"No, I am the oldest resident here. The owner of this house is a young orphan," replied the old man who suddenly averted his eyes. He stared far back at the policeman standing in front of him, then pointed in one direction, "He's the one."

Everyone looked in the direction the old man was pointing. There was Raizel yawning widely, stopping walking in front of the house with a shocked expression, "Police?"

"Stop where you are!" the policeman shouted, preventing the movement of Raizel who wanted to re-enter the house. He walked quickly over to Raizel and was followed by 2 other police colleagues.

"Oh my, what should I do?" grumbled Raizel in confusion. He closed his eyes while lowering his face trying to figure out how to handle the policeman.

"Please come with us to the police station now!" pleaded the policemen who were already beside Raizel, even the two policemen grabbed Raizel's arms to prevent him from running away.

"But, I don't ...,"

"Alright, come with us first! You can explain later at the police station!" The policeman held Raizel's arm while giving his men orders, "Bring the old man and the woman too!"

The tension in Raizel's house had just moved to the police station. The tense faces of the police investigators were now interrogating Raizel.

"According to the officers in the field, you've been at home since the night. Do you know who the body lying in front of your house is? Did you see what happened?"

Raizel was stunned, he responded slowly and feigned ignorance to the Police's questions. He picked his nose in front of the officer without caring about the tense atmosphere surrounding him.

The senior cop lost his temper, he banged the table in front of Raizel to get his attention. When their eyes met, the cop asked once again. But this time in a threatening tone, "Answer quickly, otherwise you'll spend the night at the police station! Who was the perpetrator of that sadistic murder?"

Raizel was stunned, he clasped his hands together in front of his chest and

eyebrows almost interlocked. He pleaded with the police. He pretended to be traumatized and thought the cop was a thug who was bullying him, "I don't know, sir. Please don't hit me! I promise to deposit my allowance every day."

The senior cop bowed his head, not expecting Raizel's long-winded answer to disappoint him. Unlike the old man and Moksee, they both looked at Raizel with concern. Then the old man spoke up, "He's a good kid, maybe he was traumatized by being yelled at by you earlier. He thought you were the ones who wanted to treat him harshly."

"Yes, sir. I think the man was a victim of bullying. I don't believe his style of dress or the way he spoke suggests a murderer," Moksee added.

Raizel nodded and occasionally sobbed, as if he was a sad and unfortunate man. The senior policeman withdrew from Raizel's presence, he sighed as he thought hard to surmise the true incident.

"It's not that easy to declare someone innocent. We also found a dagger full of blood in that young man's house. Confess, did you use that tool to perforate the victim's chest?" asked the senior police officer suspiciously. He again attacked Raizel with his argument. He stared at Raizel intently to observe any body language that might indicate that Raizel was lying.

"Excuse me, sir. Permission to speak." The junior police came with a report. He was silent, standing upright with his eyes straight ahead as he waited for the senior cop's approval.

All attention turned to the junior cop, except Raizel. He turned his head to the side under his breath, rubbing his chest as he was saved by the junior cop's arrival.

"Speak up!" the senior cop ordered as he folded his arms across his chest.

"We found out that the fingerprints on this dagger are not the same as the young man's fingerprints. The fingerprints were found to belong to Yu Rang. He was a gangster who was also victimized that night," the junior police officer explained while looking at Raizel.

"How strange! But why is the young man's house a mess, like a robbery. And why is there blood all over his house? Quite a rare case." The senior cop was still guessing, he wasn't willing to let Raizel off the hook just yet. He sat in the chair with his brain speculating.

"Are you really unaware of what happened last night?" the senior police officer asked Raizel.

"I was at home sleeping, sir. And I didn't know anything. It's possible that the goons wanted to rob my house, but because of a disagreement between them. The thugs attacked each other," explained Raizel trying to convince the police.

The senior police officer still did not accept Raizel's confession. He looked away as if Raizel's statement was just nonsense. Meanwhile, Moksee was getting bored at the police station. She pouted, then she leaned back complaining, "Is it still long, sir? I want to go home soon."

"The case is still unclear, especially since the injuries the victim received are quite absurd. How could his chest have a hole like that?" The senior policeman let out a rough sigh, he was tired himself. However, the sake of work kept him going.
