Bai Feng's eyes were attracted towards Chen Lingxi's. The yellow color and the slits that made her look like a cat made him forget his previous fear of her for a few seconds. She looked quite exotic for Bai Feng, who had never seen such a woman before.

Her slightly tanned skin and her golden eyes- along with her red hair made her look like a cat that tail was swinging from side to side, ready to attack.

Her eyes narrowed as she saw Bai Feng's stunned expression, and she laughed while putting her hand over her mouth and also leaning her head slightly to the back:

"Ohoo? Did I just smite this little waiter?"

Her anger diminished by a bit as she gloated inside. Naturally, as a vain person, she liked to be praised by others. Knowingly or unknowingly.

"Seeing that you have good taste, I might just give you a pass for this one. Now get over here and tell us your specialties."

Bai Feng broke from his stunned state and got a little bit closer to the table as Chen Lingxi huffed and then sat back down at the table.,Her entourage remained a bit puzzled as Chen Lingxi didn't rip Bai Feng a new one as she usually does in these situations. But they weren't the ones to question her behavior as they were all bootlicking side characters that she kept around only to hear praises.

Lingxi picked up one of the menus and took a glance in it, seeing that most of the dishes were greyed out made her scoff as she asked Bai Feng:

"You are out of ingredients? What type of restaurant is this?"

The mockery in her voice was quite visible, she wanted to shame Bai Feng and his restaurant for being inadequate in front of her and her entourage, but Bai Feng scratched the back of his head as he bowed his head and said:

"It's true. We couldn't get all of the important ingredients this time around... it's my fault for that. I'm sorry if this is of inconvenience for you and your friends."

Chen Lingxi snorted as she looked once again at Bai Feng, and continued to mock him:

"So it's your fault? How should you compensate me for wasting my time? From what I can see on this menu, the dishes that I and my 'friends' want aren't available right now, and you wasted my time for that!"

"You should know the saying, time is money, right? Well, you wasted quite a bit of my money."

Bai Feng was quite overwhelmed by all of her words and kept his head down as he said:

"I'm not the boss here... uh. Do you want me to get him for you?"

Chen Lingxi looked at one of her taller 'friends' before waving her hand and saying:

"I think you need some manners lessons first. Bido! Go and teach him how to behave in front of a high-standing lady just like myself. Then you can go and get the boss of this place here to compensate me for wasting my time this way."

Bai Feng was extremely puzzled as the current event unfolded. What was happening? Why was this girl acting this way?

Bai Feng was someone who wasn't coddled nor overpampered, so he wasn't sure why Chen Lingxi acted so unreasonable. After all, this was just a small inconvenience, and all of their food was quite delicious. Couldn't she just order something else that was available?

He tried to stop the tall man called Bido from coming over near him while he shouted for Mo Pian's help:

"Mo Pian, there is some trouble!"

A grunt came from the kitchen as Mo Pian quickly left the ingredients that he wanted to prepare on the counter before making his way towards the mess hall at his quickest speed. However, Bido was faster than him as he tried to hit Bai Feng in the head with his right fist.

Bai Feng didn't have much if any experience in battle as what he did with the Sheriff was a sheer emotional attack, so he panicked quite a bit in the face of the attack that was ready to touch his head.

He tried to dodge only to trip on himself and fall face-first into Bido's muscular arms. Bido frowned as this position felt quite awkward to him. He had missed his original target while Bai Feng fell into his embrace, but the moment Bai Feng's head made contact with his chest, a muffled thud was heard as blood dripped from his mouth, and he fell a few steps backward, creating space between himself and Bai Feng while he clutched the injured area on his chest.

Chen Lingxi's feline-like eyes widened in surprise as she took another glance at Bai Feng's unassuming body frame. Right now, he looked to be on the heavier side, but not as fat as he used to be, so he couldn't be considered handsome in any way, but Chen Lingxi's heart thumped the moment that her crony got beaten back so easily. It was unknown if it was because she liked strong men or because she sensed something in Bai Feng that the others didn't.

Mo Pian made his way to the mess hall and saw the disoriented Bai Feng along with Bido who was clutching his chest angrily while glaring at the person who gave him the injury.

Mo Pian helped Bai Feng regain his senses before glancing at Chen Lingxi, he broke into a small but conservative smile as he gave a small bow towards Chen Lingxi and said:

"Might I ask why lady Lingxi decided to put her dog to attack my new waiter?"

Lingxi chuckled as she saw the skinny Mo Pian and said:

"So you are the boss here? Don't you look quite familiar?"

Mo Pian shook his head as he responded:

"Maybe Lady Lingxi is confusing me with someone else. I'm just a humble low-level disciple who got lucky enough to run this restaurant."

Lingxi mulled for a few seconds over his words before analyzing him better and shook her head then said:

"Yeah, I guess you have a few different things about you compared with the person I know about. Anyways I would like to make you an offer that you can't refuse."

Mo Pian narrowed his eyes inside, but outside he was all smiles as he cupped his fists together and said with a happy tone:

"What type of offer would Lady Lingxi want to give this meek chef?"

"Give me your waiter."

Lingxi went directly to the subject without beating around the bush at all:

"I would like a new bodyguard, considering this foolish oaf of mine got beaten so easily by your waiter. I feel something special in him..."

Lingxi's cat-like eyes widened a bit more as they turned sharp while she analyzed Bai Feng from head to toe.

Bai Feng felt a little bit uneasy under her analyzing gaze. It was almost as if his skin was seen through, and his secrets were revealed to her, even though he didn't even know his own secrets.

Mo Pian appeared in front of Bai Feng and blocked Chen Lingxi's gaze before saying:

"I promised someone rather important that I will take care of Bai Feng, so I cannot give him to you, unfortunately, he is of a similar standing to your father, and I'm sure your father wouldn't want problems with him, right?"

Lingxi's eyes narrowed as she asked while tilting her head to the side:

"Shredder?"

Mo Pian nodded and said:

"Indeed, I'm not sure myself what connection this guy has to Shredder, but his main slave came here and gave me a rather generous offer to take him under my wing, so I can't give him to you if he doesn't want to go with you."

Chen Lingxi frowned as she got up from the table once again, and she took a few steps towards Bai Feng. She made a motion with her hand, indicating for Bido to take a seat as she glanced directly into Mo Pian's eyes.

"Why don't you step to the side so I can have a better conversation with this young man?"

Mo Pian frowned as he felt an invisible pressure descend upon him, but he kept his ground as he said:

"I can let you talk to him, but no funny business, ok? I don't want to give explanations to Shredder and get myself in trouble for your antics."

Chen Lingxi didn't give Mo Pian another glance as she pushed him to the side before making eye contact with Bai Feng once again. Mo Pian watched from the side with a worried expression on his face. While he said what he said, he did care a bit about Bai Feng as they had similar passions, and he kinda grew on him with his country bumpkin acts, and he could see that they were kindred spirits.

Chen Lingxi put her hand on Bai Feng's shoulder, making him tremble as her eyes widened sparks of Qi made a small boom upon contact as Chen Lingxi was pushed backward for a few meters pushing her into her entourage and making her cough blood:

"No Qi foundation? How the hell did he beat my LVL 4 Qi apprentice?"

Mo Pian's gaze turned strange as he wasn't really familiar with the Qi foundation term.

Chen Lingxi took a handkerchief from the insides of her dress and cleaned the blood from her mouth before throwing it at one of her cronies, her eyes contained both puzzledness and heavy interest in Bai Feng as she looked at Mo Pian and said:

"Are you sure you can't convince him?"

Mo Pian shook his head as Chen Lingxi took one more step forward, but her body trembled a bit as she gritted her teeth and got near Bai Feng once again. She looked into his eyes as she asked:

"How did you beat Bido? You don't even have a scrap of Qi in your body!"

Bai Feng shrugged his shoulders as he wasn't sure either then he answered:

"I guess... I just gave him a headbutt?"

"No... no, that's wrong."

Chen Lingxi shook her head.

"You are special in some way, I can feel it, but you don't have Qi inside of you. I want you, come with me!"

Her eyes contained a hint of possession and fondness for Bai Feng, but no fondness that one would find towards someone that she would cherish, but more of a fondness of having found a very very important item that he tried to search for a long time.

Bai Feng could feel that something wasn't right with her, combined with her previous actions towards him made him quite skeptical of her mental state, so he decided against going with her no matter how she looked into his eyes.

He shook his head as he took a few steps backward making Chen Lingxi's hair fall towards her shoulder then to her back. Her former bun became a free hairstyle as her eyes became shadowed by her hair. However, she frowned as she moved her hair away from her face as she shook her head and said:

"That backlash from trying to sense your level broke my hair tie. Whatever, you don't want to come with me? We will see in the future!"

She waved her hand and left with her entourage. Leaving a puzzled Bai Feng alone with Mo Pian who had a contemplating look on his face.

Bai Feng turned towards Mo Pian and tapped his shoulder. His expression told Mo Pian the obvious. He really wanted to know why the hell had everything happened, and why had Chen Lingxi become slightly obsessed with him after he had beaten Bido?

Mo Pian didn't know much about the payment of the dealers and casino workers, so he was surprised they didn't get a fixed salary. He didn't get a fixed salary either. But he was currently owning the restaurant as his own, not something that the sect owned, and this came with both merits and demerits. But Bai Feng had to work for them. Bai Feng looked at the unconscious Mu An and sighed as he dragged her back into the warehouse. Shirbo was waiting for his return, arms crossed as the others were continuing their breakthroughs. Before he left to fight Mu An, Bai Feng was able to make them a few dishes to keep them occupied. But now, he could finish using all of the resources that were left and let his friends reach their peak. The only problem was Mu An, Bai Feng didn't know any restraining techniques, and he wasn't sure how long she would be unconscious. He already fought her once, and he didn't want to fight her again. There was also the problem with continuing to the fourth warehouse. Once Mu An awake, even if she was restrained, she would do her best to impede their progress. Maybe they could leave her here where it was relatively safe after they restrained her. Bai Feng hoped that Sharley, Sylph, or even Lingxi would have a technique to bind her here.

  • The new Mu An

Mu An's cold expression was extremely foreign to Bai Feng. He had never seen her look like that at him. She always looked at him with a warm expression on her face, smiling at him, or telling him that everything was going to be alright after the death of their parents. Even after they went to the Lin Yong sect, she had sent out one of her guards to protect him from the shadows. But now, it looked like she had no more care for him. She was icier than absolute frost. Colder than the ice core of the planet. The Mother of Heavens was rather happy to see Bai Feng's complicated look on his face as he looked at his sister. Then she coughed as she glanced at her palm for a second before saying: "You didn't think that I would let her remain herself if she became my apostle, did you?" "The copy did mess with my thoughts a bit, but I really do appreciate her talent. It's one in a few trillion that is born with innate star

  • The aid of the universe

Bai Feng was scrambling his brains for an idea while waiting for anyone to come up with a plan to enter the warehouse. It was their penultimate training location, and if they couldn't open this one, they would surely fail at the fourth warehouse as well. But the doors were extremely sturdy, and they also stopped his regeneration, so Bai Feng wasn't sure what they could do in this situation. He simply wasn't strong enough to blow the doors open. He wasn't sure from what material the doors were made from, but he was sure that even peak Half-God realm cultivators shouldn't be able to break it open. The thing was too damn sturdy, only the Mother of Heavens should be able to break it open or someone equal to her strength. Someone equal to her strength... No individual was that strong, but there was someone equal to her! And Bai Feng had contact with that being! He glanced down at his tattooed wrist, with the help of the univ

  • Unleashing absolute strength

Bai Feng was having quite a bit of trouble fighting 1v2. The Herus fusion, and The lightning apostle fusion were giving him a run for his money. Not like he was taking damage or anything like that, but he was being kept in place as he fought back and forth with them.It was quite annoying not having enough time to penetrate through Herus's defenses before the lightning apostle would blast him with a fused attack of lightning, wind, and water. Then Herus would try to wrestle with him. Of course, even as a fusion, their strength wasn't enough to have a close-quarters fight with Bai Feng. The only reason Bai Feng hadn't finished them off yet was because of their annoying tactics and the fact that they had regenerative capabilities that resembled those of a body cultivator. It looked like their powers were getting quite the boost while they were near The Mother of Heavens' base. Not like it mattered, Bai Feng was getting annoyed as he continued

  • Fighting towards the third warehouse

Bai Feng and his team had the upper hand, but that didn't mean they were winning. The guards and formations weren't meant to defend the warehouse, but to delay the attackers by constantly slowing them down, so the apostles could come and team up with the formation and guards.Bai Feng knew that lingering around here was going to be a bad idea, plus, the original was alerted now, so that meant the third and fourth warehouses were going to be extra defended, and they would have to fight some apostles for sure.He wasn't sure if she was going to descend personally, but there was a chance that could happen as well unless the copy had an ace under its sleeve that she didn't say anything about for a situation like this.Bai Feng liked surprises, and he hoped he would be surprised.Bai Feng whistled, making his team take a formation as they hastily dodged to the side.Bai Feng's muscles became extremely defined as veins popped up on his whole arm w

Their arrival at the second warehouse was the same as at the first. They didn't attract any attention from the guards or formations. They hid perfectly according to the copy's instructions, then they waited for the guards and formations to be turned off.Unfortunately, this time around, it didn't work as perfectly as before. The first problem came with Bai Feng. While he waited, he realized that he was slowly being scanned by something, and if he stayed in the same place, he would surely be found. He didn't understand why that was happening, but he moved away from the area that could be scanned. This triggered a guard to come closer, making it suspicious of what happened. While the guards weren't real people and were made artificially, that didn't mean they didn't have intelligence. They were all pretty smart and understood that something had been near the scanning area of the second warehouse, they didn't see what it was, but they realized
