Chapter 6: Trouble?

Lucas have now walk a couple of hours and have already travel quite a distance from his initial position. Even with his endurance,he was now felling a hint of tiredness on his body.

The sun is hot above which made him sweaty, draining his endurance ever faster but Lucas still continued to walk forward.

" Just how long is this river !?"

Lucas still used hi investigation on all things around him ,and stop when he he felt a slight headache. The headaches disappear after sometime ,in which allow Lucas to use investigation again.

He have found a lot of things on his path but he choose to only take the berries that he found on the bushes, like the black berries that he found out as edible and have a close taste to a bubblegum.

He also found a bunch of red berries and some yellow berries too.

Lucas have not met anymore beast ,even after he walk for that long. Lucas doesn't believe that that wolf is the only demonic beast on this vast forest, that's why Lucas never let his vigilance down thinking that he only should relax until he reach a human settlement.

The sun was now lean morever to the west indicating a prelude to afternoon. Not beeing able to find any sign of human civilization, Lucas decided to take a rest first. He sat on a big rock , uncover his fish and started eating.

As he munch on fish and berries,Lucas contemplate on what he should do if he don't find a settlement.

He understood that sleeping on the river side was a huge risk. Having already have fought a demonic beast, he know that he will be killed before he even react if he was found by that monster in his most vulnerable state.

" Should I just sleep on a tree again."

He made conjecture that it was not feasible. He saw the wolf leap from four paces away from him, which means it was not be a hard labor for it to jump up a tree.

" I know , I should make threat detection skill!"

With that thought he opened his skill creation interface and type on the search bar.

'low level skill that detect danger'

A list of about a hundred skills appeared. Having learned his lesson , Lucas specifically used the key words ' low level' to narrow down his search.

He then browse to the skills and mark with his mind the ones that he can afford with his SP.

He then narrow it down to the ones which he thinks have the effect he need, through name of course.

' what left is survival instinct or life detection'

Survival instinct is worth 150 SP while life detection' was also worth the same. Checking his status he knows he only have 200 SP to spare.

' Look like I need both'

He have finish his food and choose one of the two

' I will choose one first ,I can still learn the other one after I earned SP again'

Seeing the description, Lucas tried to use it . His mana was reduce by 50 ,by instinct Lucas closed his eyes and he saw in his mind a wave of some sort going through everything around him which in then created a some sort of sonar map.

He ' saw ' a bunch of small lights , he understood that it was the lives around him.

On his right , on which the river is located , he ' saw ' moving lights . He assume that this must be the fishes.

While on his left he also 'saw ' a bunch of small lights which must have been the small animals on the forest. His brow made a frown as he observe something strange on the movement of the animals of the forest.

The animals was all moving in a quick manner to the west direction like they were ruining away from something.

Lucas opened his eyes and his expression was serious.

" It might be a predator or a demonic beast!"

Lucas stand up and pick up his stick.

" There are quite a lot of animals that are running away , if I kill that predator , I should be able to earned some SP from it!"

He then walk forward, he was in an exited state but he still never let his guard down.

At first he was walking ,and then he slowly increase his speed until he was running. His speed was almost as fastva bicycle having reach atleast 20km/h with hi running alone and he was not having any hardship in doing so.

After a few minutes his attention was called by a rustling sound . He then stop and slowly approach the woods . He get nearer to the rustling sound and he saw a three wolves leaping about on the direction of the east.

"Three?" Seeing the numbers of opponents Lucas was not discourage , instead he think of how he will approach the oppennents.

" If I take them by supprise ,I'm sure they will not be able to survive my fireball!"

Lucas then walk slowly to get close to the wolves and to have a better aim. On his hand he cast a fireball and with a bended knees he creeped close.

The wolve then stop on their path and their ears perk up showing that they have detected something , they then look around to see what is it while their aggression was now being aroused.

Seeing this reaction Lucas didn't let the wolves react and with a huge wind up he throw the fireball at the wolves.

The sudden appearance of a burning ball shock the wolves.

*Boom!"

The fireball landed and explodes.
