Bill froze. Even for now he didn't have enough real courage like he had prepared a few days ago to face the owner of the voice. Bill clenched both hands and suppressed the feeling of tightness when the voice came back from a closer distance than before.

"Bill, are you serious about this?" Joana with a bright red face stretched out her right hand that held Bill's resignation letter. She squeezed it hard enough to wrinkle the paper.

There was no answer, even Bill was still reluctant to look at Joana.

"Bill, I'm talking to you!" Joana's voice went up a level. Joana couldn't stand her lover's feigned deafness, and she finally pulled Bill's hand to make him face her. "You're going to ignore me? Even after we haven't seen each other for so long?"

The look of anger was mixed with a great deal of longing. Joana was grateful that Bill was here, because it meant that Bill's condition had improved. She heard from Diana quite often about Bill's progress during his recovery, but there were time
