The next morning, Romeo woke up slowly, he looked disoriented for a moment as he remembered where he was.

Linda was still nestled beside him, with her head resting on his chest, and with her body still relaxed in sleep.

His arm was draped around her, as if protecting her from the storm of emotions she'd let out the night before.

The room was still, and not just that, it was bathed in the soft glow of early morning light streaming through the curtains.

Carefully, he shifted his body, trying not to wake her. His mind was racing. He couldn’t shake the thoughts of the night before—Linda’s tears, her confession, her longing for someone else, for General Stormbreaker.
