Just Getting Started

"Dinner is here, "A waiter said coming in with a trolley, there were two more waitresses behind him.

One holding another tray while the other was holding a champagne with a glass.

"Yes, dinner" Nicholas moved aside to allow them to pass through. 

They served the food on the dining table, there were varieties of food, fruits, and desserts. Then the other waitress with champagne popped and poured it into a glass cup.

"If you need anything, you should let us know using the telephone," The waiter said and bowed, the rest lowered their head as well and left. 

"Woo!" Nicholas jumped excitedly, he danced around the room, perceiving the aroma of the food placed on the table.

Then he sat and ate like he hadn't eaten in days which is true. Nicholas has not had a decent meal for some months not to talk of a luxurious one like these.

Finished eating, he ate his dessert and finished the bottle of champagne. 

"Life is good" He belched, threw himself on the soft bed, and slept like a baby. Nicholas woke up in the middle of the night and covered himself with the duvet as the cold was too much for him. He took the air conditioner remote and tried turning it off but he didn't know how to operate the remote no matter how hard he tried. 

He gave up and squeezed himself under the duvet. 

The next day, Nicholas woke up, and took his bath, he spent forty minutes in the bathroom as he was trying all the features of the advanced shower. 

"This is fun" He pressed a button and warm water poured down on him. 

"Mm" He pressed another water, and the water became cold. 

"Aish!" He quickly pressed another button to change it. 

Nicholas dressed up and checked out. At the reception, people were giving him a disgusting look. 

He wondered what was wrong, he took a look at himself, it was then it occurred to him that... He needed a change of clothes. 

"To R&V" He smirked. 

Nicholas took a cab to R&V Boutique, a famous and expensive boutique where newly released exclusive products are sold. 

He bounced into the boutique feeling proud, the sales girl saw him and rushed towards him. 

"Please you should go, our manager banned people from window shopping," The salesgirl said politely. 

Nicholas took a look at her, he was here to buy stuff not to window shop but of course, because of his appearance, this salegirl looked down on him. 

"I'm here to buy clothes and shoes" Nicholas, trying to go in further but the girl stopped him. 

"I'm sorry sir, We don't have the clothes that you want to buy, "The salegirl said. 

Nicholas laughed. "How do you know the clothes I want to buy?"He asked in assumement. 

"The clothes and shoes we sell here range from $20,000, and I don't think you will be able to afford..." The girl said and paused, not completing her statement. 

"Sir, you can go to Luice's local market, I know a place where they sell cheap clothes ranging from $50 upward like your jeans." 

Nicholas felt insulted, He paced around, biting his nails, thinking. Then a thought came to him. 

He will make more money and come back to buy this particular boutique, he smiled. 

The sales girl noticed his confidence and proud aura, someone poor wouldn't have this confidence, what if she is making a mistake? She just got this job after searching for two years, and losing it will be dreadful. 

"Come in, I'm sure you will see the ones you like"She ushered her in with a smile. 

Nicholas who was about to leave, turned back. "You said, I'm too poor to afford anything here"

"No sir, It's my mistake, please do come in" 

"Really?"

"Of course," She said with shivering hands. 

"Lucky you" Nicholas muttered under his breath. 

"You just save this place"

"Sir?" She heard him loud this time but didn't understand what he meant by that. 

"Never mind" He patted her shoulder. 

Nicholas was shown around, lots of expensive, quality and good clothes and shoes but it wasn't to his satisfaction. 

The sales girl noticed his bland expression. 

"What's wrong sir?" She asked him. 

"I don't like all these"He rubbed his tempo. 

"I showed you mostly all our products"

"Yes, what about the VIP ones"

The girl gasped. "The products there are very expensive"

"I came here on my two legs, of course, I know that before coming here" 

"Okay"

The sales girl took him to an inner room, which led to a staircase that led to the VIP room. 

"This is it." Nicholas raised his hands, embracing the aura coming from the room. 

He looked around, picked some clothes from the racks, and went to the dressing room to try them on. 

There were only two customers in the VIP room, unlike the main room which had 50 people because things there are very expensive and only a few can afford it. 

Nicholas bought some clothes and shoes from the VIP room, the sales girl is uneasy, what if he is only bluffing, will be able to pay for all these. 

If she is caught, her manager will fire her. 

"Sir, Installment payment is allowed but it's only for three months, are you paying..." Nicholas interrupted her before she could finished her statement. 

"I'm paying all now, here is my card" He handed over the card to her. 

The sales girl swallowed hard, she would definitely lose her job today with this crazy man.

She collected the card from him and swiped it, it went once. 

Her eyes widened with her mouth wide open. 

"$6,000,000 at once!" She screamed.

Quickly, she packaged his stuff and handed it over to him. 

"Thank you, sir, please come again sir" She bowed. 

"mm" Nicholas nodded his head and left the VIP room. 

As Nicholas was about to leave, guards surrounded the place, people panicked wondering what was happening. 

"Mr. Nicholas Shane stop." A voice on a megaphone is heard. 

Nicholas stopped and turned back with a frown. A man in a blue suit, his hair was grey, obviously, he was in his late fifties walked up to him. 

"Hello, I'm Jelly Kan the owner of this boutique" The man introduced himself, offering a handshake which Nicholas shook. 

"I hardly come to this place as I have other branches to attend to but I decided to visit today and I was notified that what you bought superseded the overall sales made today." 

Nicholas gave a confused look as he wasn't getting what Mr. Jelly Kan meant. 

"I meant, today's sales is $3,000,000 but you bought things times two of today's sales which is $6,000,000. We are forever grateful for your patronage." 

"Ah, okay" Nicholas slightly lowered his head. 

"Don't go anywhere else, whatever you need just come here. Here is our golden ticket, it is a VVIP ticket for VVIP customers."

Nicholas collected the golden ticket and looked at it. 

"If you need any product, just tell us. If you need an update on new products, we will let you know. In fact, my direct number is on the ticket"

"Really"

"Yes, so if you need help or anything personal, call me. Thank you once again, our VVIP customer"Mr. Jelly Kan lowered his head, the guards and staff did the same. 

"Thank you" Nicholas bowed also and turned to the door, then he turned back. 

"That lady, promote her and increase her salary because she saved your business today," He said, pointing to the sales girl who attended to him and left. 

Me. Jelly Kan turned to her"Miss Ruth, you have been promoted to general manager" 

"What!, what about me?" The manager who was beside him said. 

"Since you were manager you never earn more than $4,000,000 in a day but here is this lady, because of her we earned $9,000,000 and the day isn't over yet, meaning we will be expecting $10,000,000 plus in just a day. Something you couldn't do, you are fired!" Mr. Jelly Kan said and left with his bodyguard. 

"Thank you, thank you very much, sir, thank you" Ruth fell to her knees and thanked him in tears. 

Nicholas came out of the boutique smiling, he went back to the hotel and changed his clothes then he bought the house he was staying from the landlord, arranged and hired people to demolish it and build a bigger one. 

He is just getting started.
