Today was Eliot’s first big day as chief of this fish school.
He led them to an unprecedented victory, killing multiple small fish and 2 powerful predators in the form of the Giant Barracuda and the Diving Bell Spider.
Eliot was not someone that loved work though.
He could be lazy like any other person. The reason why he put in so much effort to become the chief and lead this fish school was because he had goals.
He had a lot of mysteries in his mind that he wanted to clarify.
And most of all, evolution.
[You have activated innate bloodline ability: Infinite Evolution!]
[Congratulations! You have killed a Diving Bell Spider!]
[Kickstarting evolution process…, please wait!]
[Process kickstarted!]
Commander Blinky did a good job in executing the picture that the chief presented in digging out the labyrinth lair of the fish school.
Inside the lair, there was a separate dug hole for the chief.
As soon as Eliot returned from the hunt, while most of the Salmon fish in the attack department were tired and went to sleep, he went to his hole.
There, he kickstarted his evolution.
Since the Giant Barracuda was a fish like the Salmon, Eliot refrained from evolving into a Barracuda. As for the Diving Bell Spider though, he was fascinated by the abilities shown by it and hence why he decided to evolve into that.
Despite experiencing it once before already, Eliot was still amazed as mystical golden lights burst out inside his hole, encapsulating his Salmon body.
That magical feeling returned again.
That feeling like he was under the gentle handling of the master architect with his body being remolded into a different one, he felt it again.
Like the first time when he became a Salmon fish, it didn’t last long.
Just 5 seconds later, the process came to an end.
All the golden mystical lights disappeared as the line of words from the support system appeared again, flooding his vision.
[Congratulations Virgin Eliot!]
[You have made use of innate bloodline ability: Infinite Evolution!]
[You have unlocked a new Evolution Form: Diving Bell Spider]
[Evolution Forms Available: Salmon Anemia- Virus; Salmon Fish; Diving Bell Spider]
[Do you want to change forms?]
“No”.
At this moment, he was inside the labyrinth lair. A Diving Bell Spider suddenly appearing here would freak all the Salmon fish out.
That was not his focus though, his focus instead went to all the new information that just surged into his mind about the Diving Bell Spider.
‘Their botanical name is Argyroneta aquatica’.
‘They are the only known spider in the world that lives entirely underwater, I expected this’. Eliot’s eyes gleamed in excitement at all the new information that were surging into his brain.
He doubted he would ever get tired of this feeling, it felt so magical.
‘Like other arachnids, they must breathe air but they provide their own supply by forming a bubble which it holds by hairs in its legs and abdomen’. Eliot confirmed this having seen the Diving Bell Spider in action.
‘Unusual for spiders, the males are bigger than the females’.
‘Phew!’ Eliot heaved a sigh of relief. ‘Thank God I’m male’.
‘The Diving Bell Spider can inflict a painful bite that is often accompanied by feverish symptoms’. Eliot’s eyes widened in surprise on seeing this.
‘This explains its hunting mode, why all those preys became weakened after just one bite from it, damn this is useful!’ He was excited.
‘I wonder how powerful a Diving Bell Spider can become after it evolves once to unlock magic? There’ll probably be new abilities too, damn!’
‘Besides,’ Eliot’s eyes widened as something just dawned on him. ‘Since all my evolution forms are different, does that mean I need an individual single species evolution orb for every single form?’
‘Man, what a drag!’
After raving in his head about his newly acquired evolution form, Eliot finally focused on doing one last thing, he checked his new form’s status.

“Damn, finally, I have luck!”
“Does that mean fish have less luck than spiders?”
Eliot was impressed with what he saw.
The spider was far slower than his Salmon fish form in terms of speed, but not only was the spider significantly higher in the power stat, its mind and toughness were also higher.
The highlight for Eliot though was the spider’s luck.
He felt so much safer already seeing it.
After he was done exploring the fantasies and wonders of his new evolved form, Eliot finally called upon ex chief, his assistant.
Ex chief did not waste any time before honoring the summon.
Eliot turned to look at this Salmon fish. “We passed the test”.
“Now, it’s time to aim big”.
“Tell me about the rival fish schools of the Thunder Reef”.
For a few seconds, ex chief was stunned then he looked at his chief skeptically. “What do you want to do?”
“What do you think? Go on a raid of course”.
“I don’t want to do this recklessly though; I only want to do this against schools that have bullied and antagonized our fish school in the past”.
“If there’s any, tell us about them”.
“…!” Ex chief could not answer immediately, he shook in excitement.
“We’re going on a raid?!” Ex chief was excited.
“A raid bigger than today’s hunt?”
“Will we hunt big fish like today?”
“Will we win all our battles like today?”
“C’mon, tell me! Will we win?!”
Seeing his enthusiasm, Eliot almost felt imaginary sweat dripping down his gills. ‘Damn, with a chief like him, this fish school was surely heading towards the path of extinction’.
‘It’s not his fault though,’ He lamented. ‘It’s who he is’.
Eliot did not keep him waiting though, he grinned. “Yeah, we’ll win”.
Ex chief bobbed up and down in excitement the next moment on hearing that. “Of course, we have rivals!”
“Enemies, bullies who have toyed with us for a long time”.
“Finally, it’s time to get our revenge”.
“Calm down”. If Eliot had a hand, he would scratch his head awkwardly. “Take it easy brother”.
“Tell me about them”.
“With pleasure!” Ex chief replied excitedly.
“There’s the anaconda family, they swallowed 4 of us long…” Ex chief paused as he could see chief glaring at him.
“Ahem…, all fish must die someday?”
Eliot sighed. “Continue”.
“We have the Stingray clan led by their champion, Stinger”.
“We have the night raiders, the infamous Vampire fish crew”.
“We also have the Tiger fish clan, those f*ckers!”
“Those f*ckers too, the Mata Mata!”
“Ahh…, I almost forgot, those f*ckers…”
“Ah, them too…”
“There’s them too…”
“…” Throughout, Eliot was left speechless.
“How in the name of all mother*cking midgets did you make so many enemies as the chief of the school?!”
“…”
“Ok, ok, this is how we’ll do it”. Eliot faced his assistant. “We have to trim the options down so we’ll use this strategy”. “Which of them do you hate the most?” “We’ll use that to narrow them down first”. Eliot barely finished when ex chief roared. “Definitely those f*ckers!” Eliot stared at him. “Who?” “Those f*ckers!” ‘Damn, I swear I’ll kill this mother*cker one day’. Eliot thought in exasperation as he glared at ex chief. “Who?!” “Ahh…, sorry, it’s those Mata Mata”. “Gosh, they’re so arrogant”. “They kill with style, so arrogant and foolish!” Ex chief stared at Eliot again. “Not only them, the Vampire fish crew too but unlike the Mata Mata, I truly fear them”. “Even during the days of Chief, their raids left us with huge casualties”. “I don’t want us to fight them”. “The Stingray clan too, I hate them”. “And the Tiger Fish clan too, those f*ckers!” “And I think…” “Wait!” Eliot stopped him. “I think that’s enough”. “Let’s narrow it down further, tell me about th
Rustle! The leaves on the seabed waved gently to the rhythm of the water even as the waves hit against the coral reef, leaving behind a whistling sound.Whoosh! The sound of the waves hitting against solid ground reverberated in intervals, giving Eliot the clue he needed that land was probably nearby.‘This proves that there’s definitely a beach nearby or something’.‘I can’t wait to be level 5 to truly check it out’. He felt excited. The home of the Goliath Tigerfish clan was at another edge of the coral reef and at these early hours of the morning, it was as silent as a graveyard.Around the lair of the Tigerfish was a gathering of sea plants that did a good job in hiding the tiny entrance that led into the lair of these fish.Their chief was clearly intelligent to make this place their lair.It was what kept them alive and thriving for so long.Discovering this place was a testament to Commander Bonkers’ ability and the overall ability of the scouting department of the fish school.
“Danger!”“Run!”“Run!”If the Goliath Tigerfish that could speak reacted like this, what was the reaction of the poor weaker and undeveloped ones?It was a pretty chaotic sight. The Goliath Tigerfish that reacted on time charged out of their lair filled with panic, forgetting the fact that they were safest when cohesive inside their lair.Instantly after they came out, the defense department reacted.“Kill!” Commander Blinky roared. The 25 Salmon Fish of the defense department went on the attack led by their Commander. In this scenario, with at least 3 Salmon fish ganging up on 1 Goliath Tigerfish, the Tigerfish stood no chance. The 11 Tigerfish that charged out of the lair would meet death in no time. Not all the Tigerfish were awake yet though, some of them slept deeper and for others, even if they woke up, they didn’t know how to react to the sudden situation that befell their clan. And besides, with the strongest of the clan having woken up ahead of time and reacted by panicking,
[WARNING! A powerful predator has been discovered!] [You have encountered a family of mutated Piranhas!] [Support system tip: Escape!] SNAP! Another Salmon fish fell prey to the predators. The 5 Piranha fish were having the time of their lives. It was early morning and they already encountered this tasty treat, they would not be Piranhas if they did not take advantage of the opportunity to get as much free food as they wanted. “…!” Commander Blinky was petrified in shock on seeing them. This fish felt like she was seeing ghosts. The arrival of the Piranha fish threw all the raid plans down the drain. The Chief was good at creating strategies to turn tides around in battle but before overwhelming power, strategy meant nothing. No amount of strategy would make the school of Salmon fish suddenly good enough to take on these hyper aggressive predators. By now, after the death of their chief, the Goliath Tigerfish clan was already coming really close to extinction by the hands o
The chase was on! WHOOSH! “Badump!” “Badump!” Feeling the friction as the 5 Piranha fish divided the water apart, rapidly carving their way through with aggressive intent right behind him, Eliot felt like he was a convict on death row that was about to be hanged to death. He felt like a sword of Damocles was hovering right above him. “Badump!” “Badump!” His heart rapidly beat against his chest aggressively. Despite the adrenaline and the physical state of his body though, in his mind, Eliot was eerily calm as he rapidly analyzed his options. His decision to attack and lead the 5 Piranha fish away from his subordinates was a radical one, a decision that he came to on the spot without having the time or luxury to think too much about it or its repercussions. It was while he escaped now that the repercussions of his decision started flowing back into his head, painting his fate a grim one. ‘Where can I go to?’ ‘Where can I hide?’ ‘The lair?’ ‘No! I already told them to retrea
“The raid is over!”“Get our loot, return to the lair, and wait for me there!”WHOOSH!All 5 Piranha fish went after their target aggressively. The chase was on!“…”“…”“…..”For what felt like a long time, none of the Salmon fish in the fish school could react to those words, having been overwhelmed by panic already.“…!” Ex chief was the one who recovered first and he stared with wide eyes. While most of the other Salmon fish were overwhelmed by panic and did not witness it first-hand, this Salmon had the privilege of witnessing it all first-hand.Facing the 5 deadly mutated Piranhas, panic made him instinctively revert to his old ways, an action that would have doomed the whole fish school to extinction but at the last moment, somehow, the chief was able to intervene.“SHUT UP!”That yell woke ex chief from his panic and slumber. It was his wake-up call and life saver.Jolted awake, he was the only Salmon fish who paid attention as the chief unleashed his spider silk, rapidly laun
Eliot only glanced through the 5 options presented to him once but that moment was enough for a few thoughts and considerations to go through his head. ‘The Wolf Diving Bell Spider evolved form…’ ‘A Wolf Spider is a spider that hunts using speed by outrunning its prey. Mixing this with my already known properties of a Diving Bell Spider, there’s a high chance that the magic affinity I’ll get is wind or something related’. ‘At this moment, I’m cornered inside the wide hole, no amount of speed is enough for me to shrug off the Piranhas and escape’. ‘What I need is power, not speed’. He evaluated his other options. ‘The Jumping Bell Spider evolved form…’ ‘Jumping Spiders have crazy jumping abilities, and that’s how they hunt. I’m not sure but the Jumping Bell Spider will likely give me a magic affinity also related to wind, it’s not what I need’. ‘The Diving Black Widow Spider…’ ‘If I was not cornered by aggressive Piranhas that were after my head, this is the form I’ll 100% choo
[You have activated Magic Skill: Metal Gaze!]“…”“…”“…..”The metal gaze magic ability’s main effect was in intimidating enemies but during that moment that he used it, Eliot learned another use for this ability.Activating the metal gaze increased his concentration exponentially. At this moment, with total silence in his surroundings, Eliot activated the metal gaze. All 8 of his eyes focused as he observed his surroundings, while silently listening for any sound that would betray the presence of any prowling predator. It was already weeks ago but he still could not forget the moment that the Electric Eel charged in to assassinate the powerful sea snake. That moment taught him to never be complacent no matter how powerful he became in the future; this was the reason why he double checked now. Eliot checked for 10 minutes before he finally relaxed.‘Phew…, I really survived’. Eliot could hardly believe it.The past few minutes of his life were the most dangerous that he had ever exp
