Chapter 3: Eliot the Salmon Fish and his new goal

[Kickstarting evolution process…, please wait!]

[Process kickstarted!]

The next moment after these lines of words appeared, mystical golden lights burst out of Eliot’s current mushroom-shaped body, blocking out all the thick blood and flesh surrounding him at this moment.

Another magical process started.

Eliot experienced a magical feeling that he had never experienced all his life before now. For a moment, he felt like his being was being remolded.

He felt like a god-like architect or tailor with his needle and thread was working on him at this moment, sewing a more perfect version of him into existence and this process only lasted a few seconds.

After what felt like just 5 seconds, it was done.

All the golden mystical lights disappeared like they were never there.

What followed first was the system lines of words again.

[Congratulations Virgin Eliot!]

[You have made use of innate bloodline ability: Infinite Evolution!]

[You have unlocked a new Evolution Form: Salmon Fish]

[Evolution Forms Available: Salmon Anemia- Virus; Salmon Fish]

[Do you want to change forms?]

“Yes”. Eliot answered instinctively on seeing the option.

BZZZ!

His perception was briefly locked out as another magical process seemed to occur, then the next moment Eliot’s perception recovered to a crazy change.

His perception of life and existence changed entirely at this moment.

First, he no longer felt like he was compressed inside an ocean of blood and thick flesh, he felt free for the first time.

He could feel the water caressing against his fins gently as it flowed, the feeling of his gills taking in liquified oxygen made him feel alive.

If there was a mirror at this moment, Eliot would have been able to see his current form better which was a tiny young Salmon Fish.

Despite the lack of a mirror, he was not dumb.

The system clues and everything already told him what he was at this moment and he felt thrilled by the thought of it.

“I’m a fish!”

He tried to exclaim only for bubbles to come out of his mouth.

He didn’t seem to care though. “I’m a fish!”

“A fish…, damn man!”

“A mother*cking fish!”

In his ecstasy, the system lit up with words again.

Eliot was attracted first by the new skills and his increased attributes; he was thrilled as he instantly felt like his life just became a whole lot safer.

‘Damn, what an increase!’

‘With a speed of 4.4, can anything catch me?’

“Hehe…,” He chuckled, feeling full of himself in this moment which like usual only resulted in bubbles floating up.

Eliot was also thrilled at the rewards that he got for completing the missions but at this moment, he didn’t pay much attention to those.

This was because he just discovered something after his initial excitement died down, he just detected something new residing in his brain.

Eliot just discovered new knowledge residing in his head.

‘Oncorhynchus tshawytscha’.

Before today, Eliot had no idea what this name was and its meaning but just now, this knowledge appeared in his head and he knew what it meant.

‘This is the botanical name of the Chinook Salmon!’

‘Which should be me at this moment…’ He was thrilled.

‘The Chinook Salmon is the largest and most valuable species of Pacific Salmon’. Eliot was flabbergasted at this new knowledge but he took something from it. ‘This means I’m probably currently in some ocean of sort’.

‘The Chinook’s common name is derived from the Chinookan people’.

‘Other vernacular names for the species include King Salmon, Quinnat Salmon, Tsumen, Spring Salmon, Chrome Hog, Blackmouth, and Tyee Salmon’.

At this moment, Eliot felt like a sage.

A Salmon sage.

‘Damn, what the heck is this?!’

‘Professor Gagam would be impressed, damn, is this sorcery?’

That was not all, he felt like a new kid that just got a new toy at this moment and he was occupied exploring all the facets of his newest toy.

‘The domain of Chinook Salmon is Eukaryota, it’s kingdom Animalia, it’s phylum Chordata, it’s class Actinopterygii, it’s order…, damn, I can go on and on!’

“This is magic!” He exclaimed only for bubbles to come out again.

“Man, if this is not a dream, this is heaven!”

Though he still found it hard to believe, Eliot knew where this new knowledge came from and it was what made him feel like it was sorcery even more.

He could remember during the critical moment when his life was threatened and the pressure pushed him to retaliate by replicating his viral body.

For any part of the Salmon fish that he killed, most times than not, an equivalent knowledge of that part surged into his brain.

At that moment, he didn’t understand but now he did.

His eyes widened at the weight of this realization.

‘Gosh…!’ He was short of words.

‘A mechanism that can allow me to learn information about any organism of my liking just by cannibalizing on it without reading…, this is f*cking godly!’

‘Not just that, infinite evolution…, it’s real!’ He felt emotional at this moment.

Infinite evolution…, this was Professor Gagam’s greatest obsession.

‘So, it was possible Afterall!’ Eliot felt a rush of complicated feelings.

‘Is Professor Gagam still alive?’

‘Did he come to this world with me?’

‘I wonder what he would feel to know his greatest research bore fruit and actually became reality, hehe…, I bet he’d drown in ecstasy’.

He felt excited but just like before, he still had a lot of unanswered questions that he was yet to get answers to.

‘Where is this?’

‘Is this still Earth or like the system said, Utopia?’

‘Where is Professor Gagam?’

‘Did his experiment send me to this world?’

‘This Evolutionist bloodline, is it proof of the Professor’s success?’

So many questions were on his mind.

In the end, he came to a conclusion. ‘I can’t get my answers now’.

‘That does not matter now though. With this my innate ability, I now have the ability to evolve infinitely into any organism and being that I want’.

‘I will make that my goal’.

‘Let’s see, by the time I evolve 10 times, 100 times, a thousand times…,’ He grinned. ‘I bet I’ll get the answers to all my questions by then’.

He felt hyped. ‘Bring it on baby!’
