Eric frowned hearing what the blurry man just said. How dare he have a design on his sister? It seemed like he was asking for death.
"I see, you don't want to tell me, it seems like I'll have to make him talk to me." The blurry man laughed as he stared at Eric with hostility.
"Break each bone in his body and I'll see how tough he is." The blurry man ordered.
Immediately, the men behind him started moving toward Eric while cracking their knuckles with a smile on their faces.
"Elliot, take care of this trash," Eric commanded as he turned around with Alexis who was still in his arms.
"Yes, mas...Eric." Eliot smiled and appeared before the men.
Bang! Bang!
In just a second, screams and shouts of the men were heard and the cracking of bone could also be heard. Eliot didn't show any of the men mercy and directly shattered their bones. Besides, he was forced to hold back.
He couldn't use his full strength on those men or else they would have long turned to a bloody mist.
"Alexis, let's go home, I need to meet Father." Eric sighed as he looked at his sister after Eliot finished dealing with the men.
"Brother, are you sure it's fine?" Alexis asked as she looked at the menu lying on the floor groaning in pain.
"Don't worry, it's alright, no one would be able to harm you while I'm here." Eric smiled as he caressed his sister's hair.
"We live in that house brother." Alexis pointed at a house after some time.
Immediately, Eric's heart sank when he saw the house, he just couldn't believe his sister and his paralyzed father were living in such a house. The house was a run-down one with a detached roof. The walls looked like they would collapse at any time.
"Brother let's go, I'm sure Father would be happy to see you, after all, he's been mentioning your name now and then." Alexis sighed as she pulled Eric in the direction of the house.
Eric nodded as he allowed Alexis to pull him in the direction of the house with Eliot following behind. The blurry man who had been snack-talking just now was still in a daze and didn't even realize when Eric and Eliot disappeared from his sight.
Getting into the house, Eric was quite shocked. Even though the house looked run down and dirty on the outside, the inside was clean. Eric smiled as Alexis led him into a room.
"Father, look who's back!" Alexis screamed at the top of her voice immediately after they walked into the room.
"Alexis, tell me who it is, you know I can't move from this state I am in." A weak voice sounded.
"Father!" Eric called softly as he looked at the thin figure lying helplessly on the bed.
His eyes were red and this time, he couldn't hold back the tears, they were flowing down like a stream.
"Eric, is that you? Is that you?" The voice sounded, surprised and every other emotion was laced in it as it tried to stand up. But no matter the struggle, it was unable to do so.
"Father, it's me, Eric, I'm back." Eric broke down as he knelt by his father's side holding his weak arms and helping him up.
"You're finally back." The figure smiled as he looked at Eric.
"Dad, I wasn't a filial son, if not this wouldn't have happened, Henry wouldn't have died and Amelia wouldn't be in a vegetative state." Eric sighed as he blamed himself.
"It's all right, you don't need to blame yourself, you're not at fault either, it's just that we were too weak to protect ourselves." Eric's father, James smiled as he looked at his son.
Even though he wanted to touch his son, he was completely paralyzed and couldn't move any part of his body.
Eric nodded and didn't say more. Even though his father had said it wasn't his fault, deep down he didn't agree. All that happened wouldn't have happened if he hadn't been blind back then and gone to prison for whom he was not supposed to.
"Father, what did the doctor say about your health?" Eric couldn't help but ask.
"Don't worry about me, I've already accepted my fate. This old man will die soon anyway. Just make sure to take care of your sister and little Niece." James smiled as he looked at his son.
Eric nodded and didn't say anything else. As much as he wanted to check on his father's condition, he had to hold back. He just couldn't do it at the moment. He had learned a bit of medicine and was confident about curing his father, but then he wanted the best for him, so he wasn't going to do it himself.
"Brother, it's dad time to rest, let's leave." Alexis's soft voice came.
Eric nodded and gently placed his father back on the bed and then walked out of the room with his sister.
"Alexis, from now on, you don't have to work again, I'll take care of all that you need. You'll be starting high school once again by next week." Eric said seriously not giving a chance for his sister to argue.
Alexis wanted to say something, but hearing her brother's voice, she knew she was not allowed to argue and could only nod.
"Let's go get you some new clothes and something good, you must have been starving." Eric smiled as he looked at Alexis while dragging her out of the house.
Soon, the two boarded a taxi. Eric had asked Eliot to stay back at the house in order to protect his father or in case something was going to happen.
"Why the hell is there a lot of traffic?" Eric frowned as he looked at the traffic on the road.
"Boss, don't you know, the third daughter of Carol's family is getting married to the Heir of the Adams family." The taxi driver laughed as he looked at Eric.
"Third daughter of the Carols?" Eric frowned.
"Yes boss, don't you know her? It seems like you're not from the city?" The taxi driver laughed.
"Let me tell you, five years ago, the third daughter of the Carol family was initially going to get married to the heir of the Darkwood family, but then something happened and then the engagement was called off."
"If I'm not wrong, she should be Rachel Carols, it's said that she's the most beautiful out of the daughters of the Carol family."
"Besides, the wedding will be held in about three days." The taxi driver continued to run his mouth, not noticing the changes in Eric.
At that moment, Eric's eyes had turned bloodshot as he couldn't believe his ears. Rachel was getting married to another man in three days. It seems like her foolishness knew no bounds.
