CHAPTER 23

“What the hell is the young brat doing here?” The Chief groaned while standing up from his seat.

“He has come to understand why answers have not started coming. I tried to make him understand that we are working on the case but we are not generating leads yet.”

“Is he buying that?” The Chief asked.

Inspector Mark shook his head. “He is not buying it. It doesn't make any sense to him as he expects that by now, we should be able to pin this issue to someone.”

“Hmm. Unfortunately, I need to see him. Would you ask him to come over here or do you think it would be best if I come out to meet him?”

The inspector nodded. “It would be best if I bring him in. I am a bit skeptical about you two having a conversation outside. He is a bit erratic and irritated now and may not necessarily have a gentle conversation with you sir.”

“Hmm, I see. In that case, bring him in here. We should trash out whatever it is behind closed doors and not before my juniors.”
