CHAPTER 02

Jim probably never kicked a door harder and faster than he did now. He was a tall and sturdy man with well-trained legs, so the door snapped at the hinges and collapsed.

Jim then saw Rena and Solomon wrestling in the bed and was baffled beyond belief.

“Rena!” Jim stepped on the door, his hand shaking from anger. “What’s that piece of shit doing here?”

Rena was a tall brunette with sexy looks and a sweet smile on her face. She looked a bit shocked right now. “Jim! Why did you break the door? Are you crazy?”

“Huh? Are you kidding me?” Jim’s blood began to rush in his veins. He looked at Solomon, spitting fire through his eyes. “What the fuck are you doing here? Get away from her.”

“U-Uh,” Solomon was only about 172 cm tall and was shorter than Rena. However, he was very muscular and was swole, but he seemed anxious right now. “J-Jim, Rena called me at dawn because she was bored.”

“Bored?” Jim’s gaze shifted to his wife. “If you were bored, you should have called me. I’m living in the very next room!”

“He’s my best friend, Jim!” Rena raised her voice. “What’s wrong if I called him to watch a movie together? He’s funny unlike you who is only good at doing chores!”

“Yeah, this best fucking friend is waiting to get into your pants,” Jim growled. “I can just sense it in his eyes. So, don’t ever let him come close to you, or I don’t know what I’ll do.”

“Really now?” Rena glanced at Solomon and told him to leave. Solomon hurriedly left without wasting another second.

Jim’s jaw was still tight. “Did you two really sleep in the same bed?” he asked his wife.

“He came in the morning. We just finished watching the movie and started fighting because we didn’t agree with who the main character ended up with. We didn’t have sex, Jim,” Rena casually replied. “We’re just platonic best friends. You know that as well.”

“Don’t give me that bullshit, Rena,” Jim wanted to throw the coffee and biscuits away, but he was doing his best to deal with the situation as calmly as he could. “A grown man and a woman can’t be just friends. And you’re married to me. Don’t expect me to smile and act like nothing happened when you’re hugging and ‘wrestling’ with another man!”

“Ah huh, you’re acting like a man outside the bed, which is good,” Rena blurted, “but what about in the bed?”

Jim frowned.

“It’s been almost three years, Jim,” Rena tried not to raise her voice as this was a secret between the two of them. “I gave you three years to cure yourself, but I don’t see much progress at all. I’m 26 now, and I don’t want to wait another three to four years for something that may never happen, you understand?”

“W-What are you saying exactly?”

Rena got off the bed and grabbed the coffee mug from him before standing on her toes and kissing him lightly on the cheek. “I will wait another month as promised. At the end of the month, we’ll have a go at it again. If you can’t make me happy, then I’ll find someone who can, and don’t worry... It won’t be Solomon because I only see him as a friend. I have no sexual feelings for him.”

“You think that makes me feel better?”

Rena shrugged her shoulders. “I’m just telling the truth, that’s all. If it was someone else, I wouldn’t have given them three years, Jim. It was because you helped our family greatly four years back, I gave you this much time. And whether you believe it or not, I really didn’t have sex with anyone else in these three years. In fact, you’re the only man I ever slept with, so I really feel inclined to find a real mate. You have one month to do your best, Jim.” She grabbed the biscuit box from him and sat down on the bed, putting one leg on top of the other.

“One month,” Jim tried to look confident. “Exactly thirty days later, I’ll impress you in bed! If I don’t, I will sign the divorce papers and give them to you. This is my promise.” Saying that, he hurriedly walked out of the room.

“He’s gotten quite emotional this time,” Rena mumbled. “The pressure must be piling on him because the time limit is nearing. But there’s nothing I can do if all he has to offer are ultra sexy looks and no real substance. Sex isn’t everything, but it’s still crucial in building a strong relationship between partners. I’d rather marry a fat man that can fuck me good instead of a pretty guy who struggles to get hard in bed.”

Jim went to the gym room on the ground floor and began to work out to release his stress.

A few minutes later.

Shiney stood at the gym door and kept staring at Jim’s muscles. He was wearing a sleeveless shirt, so she couldn’t see his abs, but she was okay with what she was seeing.

“Don’t you have a boyfriend?” Jim asked while doing back exercise using his own bodyweight.

Shiney stopped drooling. “Why do you live in a different room when you’re married to my sister? I clearly see that there’s nothing going on between you two these days, so why don’t you just divorce her? And then, maybe, we can go on a date?”

“You will find someone much better than me, Shiney,” Jim suggested, “so don’t waste your time on a guy who’s already married. It’s not worth it.”

“Hmph, spouting the same shit again. I’m tired of it.” Shiny threw a flower vase at him.

“Whoa!” Jim managed to move away in time. The vase hit the metal rods and broke into bits. “Y-You’re crazy.”

“Hmph. See ya later,” Shiney snorted and walked away, feeling both angry and disappointed. From a very young age, she had a massive crush on Jim. He was always tall in his age group and was so handsome she wouldn’t be able to look away from him. But then Jim ended up marrying her sister instead because of some promise Jim’s dad made. “I’m doing everything I can to make him notice me, but it’s not working. Should I just sneak into his bed one of these days?” she shook her head. “Nah, he’s still married to my sis, so I can’t do that. Why does the only guy I ever loved have to end up with my sis? Why can’t I get over him? Why is life so freaking shitty?”

“Such an angry young woman she is,” Jim was sweeping the floor to clean the mess that Shiney had made. “I should have caught this vase.” As he was picking up the broken pieces of the vase and was scooping the soil off the floor, he found an old ring inside the vase.

He wiped the dirt off the ring with a gorgeous red stone. “Looks like an old golden ring, but it still has the shine, I must say. Let me see if it fits my hand.” He put it on his ring finger on the right hand because his left hand was already occupied by his wedding ring.

A surge of electricity flooded through his body, and he shook helplessly for a couple of seconds. And then it stopped.

“What the—” he tried to take the ring out, but it didn’t come.

[Initiating the Impotent System…]

A voice rang in his head, startling the heck out of him.

“Who’s that?” Jim looked around but there was nobody in that room except him.

[I’m Anne, Mr. Jim. I’m the ring that you just put on your right hand, which was a bad move if you ask me.]

As the voice rang in his head, Jim’s heart skipped a beat, and he glanced down at his ring, whose red stone sparkled and blinded his eyes. “AHHH!” he cried out in distress.
