Attack of the Ordogs

"King?!" Adam was startled. He turned his head quickly towards the Paladin.

"Adam, from now on you must fight alone. I will only stay inside your body. The Paladins are not allowed to join in attacking the Ordogs. You must fight them with your own strength." The Paladin felt it was time for him to say goodbye. He would return to Adam's body and serve only as an observer.

"Wait a minute! Then what about me? Am I supposed to kill those creatures with my bare hands?" Adam felt confused. The paladin had given him no choice. He doubted himself. He doubted if he could defeat those creatures.

The paladin didn't just walk away from him. He gave Adam the knowledge of his powers. Each Paladin is endowed with their own special powers. It was that power that could be used by humans who were chosen to become Jagers—Ordog hunters.

"Take a good look at my power. When we join again, your body will understand me. Every experience and memory I have will be experienced by you as well. It's like we share a body and mind. That way, you can learn your powers and use them without any effort. Now, open your eyes and kill them!" The Paladin finally refracted. He reunited into Adam's body.

When the two came together, Adam felt everything that the being inside his body felt. Memories of the past, the present, and the Paladin's worries. It was like he was Paladin, and Paladin was him.

"I will begin." Adam snapped his fingers. Instantly he moved toward the crowd of people near the portal. His position was at the back of the line of Jagers, but he could see the Ordog king clearly from where he was.

The chosen ones went on the offensive. The powers they possess seem to vary. Some were able to control basic elements such as earth, water, fire and air. There were also those who used psychic powers such as telekinesis and telepathy. Then there are those who use manipulation abilities, where they can transform themselves into electricity, lightning, mythological creatures, or wear the armor of the gods. More than a million people fought in front of the portal and the Ordog king. And this event also happened in other cities and in other parts of the world.

"Are you still afraid?"

"A little."

"Then force yourself! Kill the Ordog in front of you!"

"Don't order me around! I know what to do!"

Adam confronted one of the Ordogs. He had a black spear pointed at Adam's face. The man quickly created a sword of light in his left hand. The katana-shaped sword of light managed to deflect the spear aimed at him. But Adam's movements were still very stiff. The former loser employee had never exercised in his life. He rarely honed his body like other men. Gyms, exercises, physical training, they were all things he hated.

"Your movements are stiff!"

"I know!"

"Use my memory. Move more smoothly!"

"You think it's easy to do?!"

"Just imagine you're a Paladin who's been to many wars!"

"Sorry, but I'm just a contract employee who gets bullied all the time!"

The ordog continued to push Adam. He became helpless. Although Adam had created a circular shield in his other hand, the Ordog's attacks still dominated.

"The others have killed more than one Ordog. You're far behind!"

"You're so noisy! Don't you know how hard it is to kill these Ordogs?!"

"Use your instincts!"

"Make another weapon that's more effective! You can manipulate light to your heart's content!”

Adam kept getting lectured by his friend. He was a complete idiot when it came to fighting. But when it came to survival instincts, he was a champion. A loser would think of a million ways to keep himself from dying. He had to survive because he couldn't depend on others. Because of that, Adam knew exactly how a loser fought.

"You said I could manipulate light at will. Fine, I'll do it to my heart's content!"

Adam put away his sword and shield. He backed away from the Ordogs who continued to attack him. When he was in a safe position, he quickly reshaped something using both hands. And...

A bullet of light pierced the Ordog's head, making the creature disappear into black smoke. It turned out that Adam had created a sniper rifle just like the one he had imagined in the online game. That made Paladin shake his head in another dimension.

"How? Is my rifle that amazing?" Adam smiled.

"You're crazy!" Paladin was amazed.

Adam understood. He could create anything with his light powers. Only his imagination limited him. But for now, he had limits. Paladin had not told him about the energy supply to manipulate light. This energy supply was referred to as 'Mana'.

"Can I make ballistic missiles?"

"What is that?"

"A weapon of mankind that can cause a huge explosion when it hits the target."

"If you listen to the way you talk, that weapon requires an enormous amount of Mana."

Adam did not understand. Mana? What is that? While aiming at some Ordogs from his position using the binoculars on his rifle, he asked the Paladin to explain about 'Mana'.

Mana-pure energy obtained from distilling natural energy into body energy. The chosen humans have their own Mana. But the amount is limited according to their capacity. For example: A has a Mana of 1000, while B has a Mana of 500 only. The thing that made the two of them have different amounts of Mana was due to the factor of the Paladin level that possessed them and the purity of the heart.

Since Adam was a loser who rarely committed major sins, the amount of Mana he had was quite large. But he had to use it efficiently.

"How do I kill the king?"

"The Ordog king's armor is very strong. To penetrate it is impossible. You need additional power to be able to create an impactful attack on him."

Paladin began to worry about the Ordog King. Fortunately, the creature was still from the first dimension. But he did not expect that this foot invasion would be directly led by the king of the first dimension.

"How do I get additional power?" Adam asked.

While they were busy chatting, the giant began to move with the black whales. His footsteps made violent vibrations on the ground. He swung his black trident at the Jagers.

"Look out!"

"Get out of there!"

Adam shouted very loudly.
