Chapter Fifty-Five - Planned?

Amelia’s cheeks flushed with embarrassment as she watched Jason’s reaction. His face twisted in confusion, and Amelia internally cursed herself, wishing she could erase the awkwardness that now enveloped the room. But she knew that she had a goal to achieve, so she swiftly wiped away the look of regret that she had on her face.

“Don’t take it the wrong way; you know what I mean. We will just talk over lunch,” she said.

Jason thought it over for a moment and nodded. "Sure, why not? Let’s go”

Amelia was slightly surprised by his response, but she smiled and played it off like she knew he would agree. “Perfect. I'll be out in a minute. Can you wait for me outside?”

Jason nodded. He stood up from the chair and walked out of Amelia’s office. After a few minutes of standing outside, Jason saw Amelia come out of her office.

“Shall we?” Amelia asked.
