Chapter Fifty-Four - A Date

Later in the day, Jason went to the Elysian Syndicate to discuss with Amelia as he planned. When he reached the top floor, he saw her secretary. He was a young man who looked shy and nervous. Jason could tell from the way he rubbed his neck incessantly.

“Excuse me, is Amelia in?”

He lifted his head up, which was previously buried in his office. “Good afternoon, sir. Um, yes, Amelia is in her office,” he said. Jason was now able to read his name on his employee tag. Samuel Greene

"Okay, good. I'm supposed to have a meeting with her today.”

“Let me just confirm that,” he said as he pressed some keys on his laptop. “You're Jason Grey?” Samuel said, looking him up and down with his brows furrowed.

"Yes, I am.”

"Okay, you can go in.” Samuel gestured to the door.

Jason walked to the door, then opened it slightly. Once he did, he heard the sound of Amelia speaking to a woman; her voice was raised slightly, and it seemed like they were having an argument.
