Chapter Twenty-Eight -Stay the night

The clouds roared in the sky as Jason drove the Mercedes through New York. The storm in the sky was nothing compared to the storm in his mind as he replayed the events that had just occurred.

Diana had made her choice. And it wasn't him. He wasn't upset with her because she didn't choose him. Yes, it hurt him, but he understood that Stephen had put her between a rock and a hard place.

What he was most upset about was that she didn't come clean to say that she chose her family. Instead, she tried to use the excuse that she was divorcing him because of his alleged infidelity.

He let out a cold chuckle as he thought of how he had intended for this night to end. He wanted to present the necklace to her and finally fill the jewelry box. Not just that, but beyond the night, he planned on finally stepping up.

As he retraced the events of the night, he put the pieces together. Andrew was probably the one who was on the phone with Diana, no doubt feeding her lies about him.
