Chapter 19

Riele's POV.

Ever since I arrived at school, it alone has been a thorn in my flesh that sometimes I wish to wrap myself with a heavy blanket to prevent the thorns from continuously darting at me.

It's obvious everyone has got something to say to me, but they know they can't, and that is really soothing.

Right now, I'm all alone in the cafeteria. I don't have anyone sitting with me except Karen who is not here yet. Liz and Ashley have totally left me. There is now a long bridge between us. It makes me feel how slowly things are capable of changing.

I sighed and forcefully tried to scoop a spoon of spaghetti into my mouth. My appetite is slowly drifting away.

"Hey, Rie." I heard Karen call, making me brighten up.

She walked up to my front and placed her food on the table sitting down.

I mentally smiled in appreciation of having her by my side.
