Chapter 21

~Court room~

Everyone took their seats in the courtroom, while waiting for the judge to arrive.

And after thirty more minutes of waiting, a sheen of sweat appeared on their foreheads as they waited. Finally, the judge arrived.

“Court stand!”

Everyone stood up, hearts were beating, some faces carried no trace of smile, happiness.

Only one attorney came up, and they selected their juries.

“This is a case of murder,” the chief judge began.

“On the tenth of November, Mr. James was stabbed to death by Lewis Baker. It's reported that Mr. Lewis was seen lurking in the middle of the night, he went to the infirmary to receive treatment, allegedly drugged Miss Viviette who works as a nurse and also a correctional officer was found unconscious at exactly 10:40pm when Mr. Lewis was apprehended with a dead body,” he exhaled.

The judge who appeared to be sixty in age sighed and looked at the room through his two lenses.

Then his eyes fell on the accused “Let's hear from you, Mr. Lewis.”
