Chapter 20

Lewis' hands were cuffed as Warden Lee took him to the interrogation room.

He took a seat opposite the interrogation room. Every hope of escaping this prison disappeared into the thin air after the day he was apprehended in the corridor.

It has been five days since the horror, and Lewis has not admitted to the crime. He rather remains quiet whenever he is asked about it.

Like today, he just sits across from the officer who rested his right elbow on the table, relaxed and confident that he will get a nod to the crime from him.

The officer cleared his throat loudly in the quiet room with dark walls. He pinned his eyes on Lewis as if he would steal a thing from him once he moved his eyes, then he picked the water from his office bag and uncapped. Took about three gulps just to refresh himself.

He then adjusted his medicated glasses before starting.

“You were caught killing this man,” he pushed the picture of the dead inmate to Lewis. “His parole was coming up next month.”
