(The Next Day)
"Are you sure I'll be able to get the contract?" Zoey looked at Jordan skeptically. "You don't have to worry, dear wifey. I called the owner of Skyline Technologies last night, and he promised to take a look into your proposal and that if it's good, he'll give you a contract." Jordan smiled, reassuring his wife. "Okay." Zoey nodded, still not feeling comfortable. "Or do you want a good luck kiss?" Jordan chuckled, moving closer to her. "No, don't touch me." Zoey giggled and ran out of the house. "By the way, I'll be going out to look for a job." Jordan smiled as he said, looking at Zoey, who was preparing to go. "How about you take some rest first? You just came back, and I don't think any company would be willing to employ you." Zoey said, worry written all over her face. "You don't have to worry about matters like that, it's insignificant." Jordan smiled. "Besides, it'll be enough if I could just land the role of a security guard, so it shouldn't be too hard." He added. Zoey looked at Jordan skeptically, but in the end, she had no other choice but to agree. He wasn't going to listen to her anyway, so she just hoped that he got the job. After all, he just used up his chance of bouncing back to help her. "I'll go first." She said and then turned around leaving the house. Jordan watched with a smile as she disappeared into this distance. After making sure that she was gone, he took out his phone and called Azure Dragon. In no time, a car pulled up in front of the house and Jordan hopped into the car. "Where are we going, sir?" Azure Dragon asked immediately Jordan got into the car. "Take me to Skyline Technologies, I want to go and see that old man." Jordan chuckled and then rested his head on the chair. "Should I call the old man and tell him we are coming?" Azure Dragon asked. "Nope, there's no need for that." Jordan shook his head. After all, he was just going there for his wife's sake and to tell David that he should give his wife a contract no matter what her proposal was. ------- "I'm honored to have sir at my place." David, an old man in his late sixties, bowed to Jordan as the latter sat on the chair. "You don't have to be so courteous; I only came to request a favor from you." Jordan laughed and crossed his legs while Azure Dragon stood by his side respectfully. Immediately, David breathed a sigh of relief hearing what Jordan said. But at the same time, he was still feeling uneasy. He didn't know what kind of request Jordan was about to make. What if it was one that he was not able to do? After all, Jordan was someone who had great powers, so it would be very dangerous to refuse him. He could destroy his family without needing to lift a hand, so he was very scared and didn't even know what to do next. He could only look at Jordan and hoped that what the latter was going to ask for was going to be mild. "Well, my wife would come to your company with a contract proposal." Jordan continued, afraid that he was going to give the other party a heart attack if he didn't say what he wanted. The other party was too much of a coward, so there was no need to keep him in the dark. Well, it was not his fault; after all, his reputation was not one that they could mess with. "You are to order your men to take a look at the contract and even if they are not to read it, they should pretend as though they read it and ask some questions before you do the needful," Jordan instructed. "Yes sir." David nodded almost immediately, at the same time sucking in a breath of cold air. After all, it was just a contract. Also, he was going to make sure to take in who the God of war's wife was. "How about your son?" Jordan chuckled as he stood up from where he was sitting. "He's out of the Country," David replied. He would be the happiest man in the world if his son could achieve even half of what Jordan had achieved. Others might not know, but he knew just how powerful Jordan was and the soldiers under him were just as powerful. "Don't make the contract too easy for her and don't make it too hard for her," Jordan added as he left the office with Azure Dragon. "Sir, where are we going now?" Azure Dragon asked, looking at Jordan. "I'll wait for a call from my wife; let's just go to a random restaurant and wait," Jordan replied after watching Zoey walk into Skyline Technologies. "Also, while we are at it, tell Phantom No.1 and Phantom No.5 to return to North Hampton. Also, ask them to come with two people who are in the Human Emperor realm.". Jordan was known as the God of war. But it was all just a name; he was far more powerful than a God of war; as to how powerful he was, no one knew about it. Azure Dragon by his side was also far more powerful than that, and Phantom No.1 and five, whom he had asked Azure Dragon to tell them to come to the God of War realm. The lowest realm was the Qi and Bone Realm, then it was followed by the Earth Realm, then the Human King Realm. In all of Jordan's five regiments that he created, the weakest was an Earth Realm warrior. All of his men were formidable, and even the higher-ups of the country had to take him seriously even though he was not going to attack the country. They wouldn't have been afraid if they had full control of the army, but they didn't. Jordan's five regiments contained over Five hundred men per regiment, and all of them listened to only him. The rest were not too loyal to Jordan. Though they knew that Jordan wouldn't start a revolution if he were to, there was no way about it, so they were very respectful of him. Besides, Jordan didn't seem to care so they knew they were all safe."What are you both doing here?" Mark jeered, seeing Jordan and Zoey walk into the Villa. "Did you give up so soon and want a divorce?" He continued in a mocking voice. "That would be a good thing anyway, so just come and sign the papers I have already prepared it." He then proceeded to pull out some papers like he had known that Zoey was going to come. "Sign here Zoey." Mark continued, his voice sounding rather enthusiastic as if he had just won a bet. "Hurry up and sign it so that you will be able to get yourself free of this filth." "Let me tell you, I've already asked around, there's no way any company would be willing to accept someone like him, he's nothing more than a rapist." Zoey just glanced at Mark and didn't say anything. She was more afraid that Jordan wouldn't be able to stand it. Glancing at Jordan, she saw that his expression was calm, and he didn't seem to have noticed Mark, who was spewing nonsense. This made her sigh in relief. After getting to the company th
"Mother, this calls for a Celebration." Mark grinned as he couldn't believe his eyes while going through the papers. Mabel nodded in agreement, she too was not expecting Zoey to be able to secure a contract and was surprised. "I bet it must be some kind of dumb luck." Mark grinned and stood up. He was ready to go and show off the contract. Now, the Clarkson family was going to become invincible; they were directly affiliated with a first-tier company, and this was a huge boost. As long as they maintained the contract, even a first-tier family wouldn't be willing to offend them; after all, Skyline Technologies was one of the most powerful companies in the whole of North Hampton. "Excuse me, may I come in." A deep male voice came just as Mark was about to leave. "Yes come in," Mark yelled, not caring about who might be at the door. He was very happy and thus wouldn't give a damn at the moment. The next moment, a tall lanky figure walked into the sitting room holding a briefcase w
"That bitch!" Mark cursed immediately as Benson walked out of the house. "I should have known that something was wrong, there's no way she would have the guts to go to the company if she was not in a relationship with that man." He continued. Mabel nodded and didn't say anything. She, too, also felt this way. But what happened had already happened, and there was no way around it; all they could do was to make sure that Zoey came back to sign the contract. She couldn't think of going back to call the other party and was extremely disgusted with the thought, but there was nothing she was going to be able to do about it. They couldn't afford to pay the price for breaching the contract and thus could only do what the other party wanted. "Hurry up and call Zoey," Mabel commanded. They were going to have no other choice now that Benson had said that she had to be the one who was going to sign the contract. Mark nodded and brought out his phone to call Zoey. Dialing her number, it ran
"Didn't I tell you that they'll be here soon?" Jordan looked at Zoey, a smile crept onto his face."But..."Zoey stuttered not knowing what to say. Though she didn't know why her uncle was angry, at least Jordan was right, he had come back, but what was she going to do?"Bang!"Another loud hit came from the door followed by Mark's angry roar."Zoey, I know you're in there; how dare you ignore me; get the heck out right now!"Jordan narrowed his brows and walked towards the door. He already knew what Mark wanted, but if they couldn't come and ask nicely, then there was no way he was going to allow Zoey to sign the contract."What the heck do you think you're doing?" Jordan growled immediately as he opened the door."Are you trying to pull down the door, or what the heck is wrong with that pea-sized brain of yours?""You..." Mark gritted his teeth pointing at Jordan as he descended into a rage."I didn't come here for you. Get the heck out of my way." He calmed down a bit, glared at J
(The Next Day)"Jordan, I've prepared some documents; I will go look for a job today," Zoey said, looking at Jordan who was still all relaxed on the sofa."Why do you have to look for a Job?" Jordan narrowed his eyes looking at Zoey.Though he knew that her family had taken away the company from her after the incident five years ago, he planned to help her get it back, so there was no way he was going to let her work."I don't have a job and you don't have a job. Do you want us to starve to death?" Zoey rolled her eyes at Jordan walking towards the doorShe had already thought about it the night before and had already decided that she was going to get a job. After she needed to support Jordan. Though she knew that he must have started to plan how he was going to rise once again, she knew she had to support him.She believed that since he had done it once, he would be able to do it again. Also, she was feeling a little bit guilty.Jordan sighed looking at Zoey. At first, he wanted to s
"Grandmother, I've signed it." Zoey broke the silence, calling Mabel's attention to herself. She was still a little bit shocked, though the shock didn't prevent her from signing the contract."Since you've signed it, I would take the contract to Skylines Technologies to finalize everything." Mabel offered, taking the contract from the table and standing up."But...""You don't have to worry, I'll represent you this time around." Mabel shook her head interrupting Zoey."Also, it's just past eight; I suggest you resume to the company and start working on the product you signed the contract for; I'm afraid Skyline Technologies would have zero patience to get their products," Mabel said."Yes grandmother, I'll go to the company today." Zoey agreed and stood up.After all, she was ready to go out, so there was no need for her to change. Also, just as her grandmother had said, they had to start with the production of the product right away. The company was a technological company, and they
"Mia, how have you been?" Jordan asked, his voice calm.Mia happened not to be on the battlefield when he was leaving, so he didn't mind the way she was talking.Besides, he was not too strict and they all knew that as long as they followed his rules, there was not going to be a problem."Mia, I need you to come to North Hampton." Jordan went directly to the point, not willing to waste any more time."Yes sir!" Mia answered, not daring to refute Jordan."I'll be giving you a month to round up everything and pass your tasks to someone else, as you'll be staying in North Hampton for quite a while." Jordan continued."Yes, master." Mia didn't say anything and just directly agreed with what Jordan had said.Jordan's authority in the army was absolute, and as long as he issued an order, it was to be followed; otherwise, the person was going to face the consequences. But it was rare for Jordan to give orders, so whenever he did, it was to be followed rather strictly."But master, what am I
"What's going on here?" Azure Dragon muttered, stepping on the brakes and bringing the car to a stop as he approached a long line of traffic. There were many cars and none of them seemed to move. All that could be heard was just the honking of the cars."What's wrong? Why did you stop?" Jordan, who had his eyes closed open, turned to look at Azure Dragon."Master, I think there's an accident up ahead." Azure Dragon explained. He heard some of the drivers discussing it and that the ambulance was yet to arrive which was the real reason for the traffic."Let's go check it out?" Jordan muttered and got down from the car while Azure Dragon followed.Seeing the long line of traffic, Jordan knitted his brows and couldn't help but shake his head as he walked to the front to see what was happening.Soon, he and Azure Dragon arrived at the front. Just right in front was a bridge. At the moment, the bridge was a little bit crowded, right in the middle of the bridge, a truck hanging by the side o
