"Jordan, what do you think you're saying?" Mark was the first to recover, and immediately, he burst out into a fist of laughter.

The others also burst out laughing looking at Jordan, disdain written all over their faces.

"If it were not for your dishonest acts, do you think we would all be here?" Mark sneered as he stopped laughing.

"Besides, if it was you in the past who said this, then I would have believed it without a doubt."

"Who the hell do you think you are right now?" He continued with a sneer.

"You're just a criminal, so you'd better shut the heck up and not interfere in what you're not supposed to."

"I...." Jordan wanted to say something, but he felt a soft tug from Zoey and thus didn't say anything again.

"Fine, I'll get the contract in three days." Zoey agreed.

"I have your divorce papers ready, get ready to sign them in three days." Mark sneered.

He firmly believed that there was no way Zoey was going to be able to get the contract, so he was not even thinking about it.

"Fine." Zoey gritted her teeth and pulled Jordan out of the banquet hall.

------

"What do you think you were doing back at the banquet?" Zoey glared at Jordan immediately after they stepped into the house.

After leaving the banquet, she brought Jordan straight to the house where she lived. After the incident, the Clarkson family considered her a shame and took everything from her.

The only thing they didn't take was her job and this was because they felt that she was useful and would help them secure more contracts.

Her pay had been cut and she was barely given enough to sustain her.

"What do you mean by that?" Jordan asked as he looked around the house in confusion.

He had a lot of questions he wanted to ask, but he felt there was no need to ask. He was going to know after he did some investigation.

"What you said at the banquet. Do you think I have a chance at getting the contract?" Zoey sighed, rolling her eyes at Jordan as she managed to fight back her tears.

Jordan was someone who was just a victim of injustice and she knew about it. Besides, he was an excellent man, and she believed that if he was given the time, he was going to rise once again.

Also, he was the first man she loved and most probably the last, so she was unwilling to get divorced.

"Don't you believe that you could get the contract?" Jordan's voice softened as he looked at Zoey.

He could read the emotions in her eyes and thus knew how she felt, so he felt rather sad.

"You're intelligent, and I believe that if you put in more work, you'll be able to get the contract." He continued, his voice growing softer with each second.

"Stop trying to praise me and tell me why you were so confident?" Zoey sneered, trying to hide the smile on her face.

Back at the banquet, she could feel that Jordan was extremely confident and she had felt that aura from him five years ago, so she felt that he had a means.

"Alright, to tell you the truth, I've not been in prison all this while." Jordan sighed.

Zoey's eyes opened wide in shock hearing what Jordan said and she didn't know what to say.

"After a month of getting to prison, we were taken away by the army to serve as soldiers depending on the number of years we had to spend on the battlefield." Jordan continued.

"So while on the battlefield when we went on a rescue mission, I was able to rescue the son of the owner of Skyline Technologies, whose father then came to see me and promised to help me anytime I needed help." Jordan continued..

Though his words were a lie, it was not entirely that. The first half was the truth. And the last half was the truth.

He had indeed saved the son of the owner of Skyline Technologies, and the other party was willing to offer up the company, but Jordan was not willing and just turned it down.

After all, he too was not a poor man and, over the years, had amassed quite a number of wealth which he couldn't count.

Also, he felt that the company was too small, and the owner had a whole lot of other companies, so he was not interested in taking over just a minor company.

Zoey's eyes widened in shock as she looked at Jordan. She couldn't believe her ears.

"After five years, we were allowed to return back and now I'm retired. I'll just have to look for a job." Jordan didn't allow Zoey's thoughts to wander and continued.

"So I'll give him a call, and I'm sure that as long as your proposal is good, they would be willing to give you a contract; after all, what they need is talent."

"But aren't you supposed to use that favor to get yourself back and bounce back to what you were before.." Stuttered Zoey not knowing what to say.

"You think too much wifey. I'm giving up this favor for you cause I know you can do it. Also, you don't want to divorce me, right?" Jordan continued, a smirk curled up on his face.

"Yes...." Zoey nodded, her heart beating heavily as she couldn't believe that Jordan was going to do so much for her.

"Then you should just trust your instincts and prepare for the contract. Take it tomorrow, and I'm sure they'll be willing to review it." Jordan continued.

"Yes..." Zoey nodded.

"Then you should waste no time and go and prepare for the contract so you can take it tomorrow; after all, we don't know how long it would take them to review it." Jordan smiled.

Zoey nodded and immediately turned around walking into the room to do as Jordan had said.

Jordan had a smile on his face as he watched Zoey walk away. He had already come back and he was not going to allow anyone to bully his wife or take her away from him.

"But..." Azure Dragon stammered, still not believing what he was hearing.Wasn't that day supposed to be the master's big day alone?Besides, leaving that aside, he had never met Mia's parents; neither did he know if they would agree with their union. But then, come to think of it, who in hell would reject the right-hand man of the God of War as a son-in-law?Were they all insane?"Call her," Jordan repeated, his voice leaving no room for negotiating. This lad—if he didn't force him now, when would he be able to make the move?He had already been watching them. And for a long time, even though the relationship only got official after they came back, he knew Azure Dragon liked Mia.And he knew Mia liked Azure Dragon.Over the past two to three months, though he didn't know how far the two had gone, he was sure they were already far more than he was thinking."Also, tell her to bring your mum along; I want to have a word with her," Jordan added, his eyes landing on Azure Dragon, who at

(Two Months Later)"Brother, so what's your plan for the wedding?" Amelia asked, her mouth filled with food as she looked at Jordan, who sat across, eating slowly."Well, I've contacted a bunch of experts to organize it; I want to make it the biggest wedding of the city," Jordan answered, eating at a rather slow pace.It had been two months since the incident of the God-slaying formation in Aurelia. Those old men had not yet gotten back to him, but Jordan couldn't care less about them. They knew what they were doing, and he was sure they would be able to turn the situation around.During that time, he had gotten closer and closer to his wife. They had gone on more dates, spent time together, and a whole lot of other things. As for news about the company, Alice had kicked Mable and her son out of the company. As for who was controlling it, that was unknown. When Zoey heard about the news, she was indeed devastated; after all, that was a company she had built from scratch with her hands

"Ten years?" Everyone froze, their eyes nearly bulging out of their sockets as they couldn't believe their ears."Are… are you perhaps joking with us?" Maximus asked, his voice low as he looked at Jordan."Why should I joke with you?" Jordan raised his brows, staring at the men."You bunch of old men are not fun to play with, so why should I bother doing that?"Allen and the others coughed without saying anything. Most likely in the country, except for a few old monsters like them, only Jordan could talk to them like this."Is there any other alternative?" Allen finally asked, knowing well the first option was not feasible. They might have been willing if it were Erudia, but then it was not.So why would they have to pay such an enormous price for a country that was actually an enemy? If it were not for the fact that there were countless innocent people, they would have turned a blind eye to it."Naturally there is," Jordan answered, tapping the table lightly."But I don't think any o

Hearing this, a smile crept onto Jordan's face."What is Mark doing currently?" Jordan inquired, the smile on his face vanishing slowly."He and his mother are disturbing me to help look for a way to contact Alice so that she doesn't kick them out of the company," Mia answered; a slight hint of amusement could be heard in her voice."Inform Alice to ignore them for the time being. Also, do not do anything for a while; when the time is right, we'll kick them out," Jordan instructed, a glint flashing in his eyes.He didn't care what would happen to them after they were kicked out. After all, they were the ones who started it. If they hadn't kicked out his wife, then maybe he wouldn't have done something like that."Any other thing?" Jordan asked, his expression returning to normal."That's all, Master," Mia reported and hung up the call.Jordan stared at his phone for a while after the call ended. Now, everything was finally going the way he wanted. His wife would be able to operate the

"Master, what's so special about this water?" Azure Dragon narrowed his brows, staring at the water inside the glass he was holding."Nothing much," Jordan chuckled, taking a sip from his glass. After he came back home the day before, he explained the situation to Zoey; and since the villa was large and there were many rooms, Amelia quickly settled in with them."It's just water that contains Qi because it was taken from where a spiritual vein is," Jordan explained, taking another sip."But..." Azure Dragon stuttered, feeling a bit confused. The water was not rare at all. In fact, even if he took the water, it would have no effect on him."If you're wondering why the higher-ups were looking at you that way, well, it's because the water doesn't become this rich until after twenty years," Jordan laughed, taking another sip from the glass.Hearing this, Azure Dragon froze, swallowing the lump in his throat.Without another word, he gulped down the entire glass.Instantly, a pure wave of

Walking into the building, Jordan soon found his destination: the conference room where the men were. Most of the time, they were here discussing matters about the country. And if they were not, they were in their apartments, which were still inside the barracks. The moment Jordan walked in, Maximus and the three old men froze, seeing a figure walk into the conference room.Just as they were about to say something, they saw who it was, and their frowns morphed into a smile."Jordan, you didn't mention you would be coming." Maximus, the closest to Jordan, stood up, welcoming Jordan, while the other three also nodded gently.Azure Dragon, on the other hand, looked around as he followed Jordan into the conference room. The room was large; the air conditioning, too, was just too soothing. At the moment, the four old men were sitting, and his master had also sat with them. Then, by the front was a large screen. Though currently it was not on, Azure Dragon could tell what it was used for; a
