You're Not Qualified To Sign It

"What are you both doing here?" Mark jeered, seeing Jordan and Zoey walk into the Villa.

"Did you give up so soon and want a divorce?" He continued in a mocking voice.

"That would be a good thing anyway, so just come and sign the papers I have already prepared it." He then proceeded to pull out some papers like he had known that Zoey was going to come.

"Sign here Zoey." Mark continued, his voice sounding rather enthusiastic as if he had just won a bet.

"Hurry up and sign it so that you will be able to get yourself free of this filth."

"Let me tell you, I've already asked around, there's no way any company would be willing to accept someone like him, he's nothing more than a rapist."

Zoey just glanced at Mark and didn't say anything. She was more afraid that Jordan wouldn't be able to stand it.

Glancing at Jordan, she saw that his expression was calm, and he didn't seem to have noticed Mark, who was spewing nonsense.

This made her sigh in relief. After getting to the company that morning, she was let in and then her contract proposal was given a chance.

Much to her shock, they were impressed with it and immediately gave her a contract.

But Zoey didn't sign her part and decided to sign it, promising to bring it back when she did sign it.

But they were kind enough and said that they were going to send a representative to come pick up the contract.

"Zoey, don't you dare think about changing your mind; this is the best time for you to sign the divorce papers.." Mark's voice sounded, pulling Zoey out of her thoughts.

"And who said I'm here to sign the divorce papers in the first place? "Zoey retorted, rolling her eyes at Mark.

"Then what have you come to do?" Make questioned, feeling rather shocked in his heart.

"Grandmother, I have secured the contract." Zoey ignored Mark and turned to Mabel, who was sitting on the couch watching the scene,e, and announced.

"Huh?" Everyone in the place froze hearing what Zoey said.

"What do you think you're saying?" Mark was the first to recover and immediately, he burst out into a rage.

"Do you think a contract with Skyline technology is something you can just secure in a day? Or do you think they would allow someone like you into their company?" He raged.

"Zoey, you shouldn't play expensive jokes like that. Do you think a contract is that easy to acquire?" Mabel also berated.

"You, of all people, should know how hard it is to secure a contract. Or did you think it would be nice to come play such an expensive joke here?" She continued.

"Fine, since you wouldn't believe it, here's the contract clause." Zoey fumed and threw the file she held in her hands on the table.

Instantly, Mark rushed forward and, with trembling hands, went through the files.

Mabel also got up and began to check out the contract Zoey had dropped on the table not believing their eyes.

At first, they wanted to blame her that it was fake, but after seeing the stamp of the company, they realized that it wasn't.

That stamp couldn't be replicated, and even if it could be replicated, it was going to cost a lot of money, and Zoey didn't have the money to do so.

After a while, Mabel and Mark finished going through the contract, then they raised their heads to look at Zoey.

"Now do you believe?" Zoey sneered, feeling rather satisfied.

"Mark, get a pen and sign the other half of the contract. We can't delay it any longer." Mabel ignored Zoey and turned to Mark.

"I have a pen here, mother." Mark grinned, his eyes filled with greed as he prepared to sign the contract.

"What do you think you're doing?" Zoey became alarmed and rushed forward wanting to stop Mark.

"Zoey, do you think you're fit to sign and handle the contract?" Mabel spat, stopping Zoey.

"You're married to a rapist. Haven't you had no shame?" She continued.

"This is someone who tried to sleep with your cousin and yet you want me to let you handle something as important as this."

Mabel paused for a while glancing at Zoey before she continued.

"What do you want people to say about our family when they find out? Or do you think Skyline Technologies would give you the contract if they knew about it?"

"Let me let you know. You don't have a thing to do with this contract, and it was gotten all because of sheer luck. Besides, you can't handle the contract, so it would be best if you just shut your mouth and let your Uncle take over it."

"But...."

"If you try to argue, then you are going to lose your job at the company, and I'll see how you'll survive with that Criminal you call a husband."

Zoey's eyes became red and were filled with tears. She wanted to say something, but she didn't dare.

The contract was something that Jordan used his favor which could have been a hundred times useful to him to get, and yet she had lost it in the blink of an eye.

She didn't know where to start and thus, she didn't dare to say a word.

"Don't think it's anything special that you were able to get the contract." Mark taunted with a satisfying smirk on his face.

"The contract is something that I can also acquire, besides, it's your blessings that I'm going to handle." He continued.

"Mother, we should have a banquet to celebrate the contract. Let all those families know that we have a connection with Skyline Technologies and they can't bully us any longer." Mark laughed and Mabel nodded her head in agreement.

"Jordan let's go." Zoey turned to Jordan and said while trying her best to hold back the tears, not daring to look at Jordan as she was sure that he must be very disappointed.

"Sure," Jordan muttered and turned around to leave, his voice calm.

Zoey felt a shiver down her spine and the tears she had been holding back fell freely. She was right; Jordan was disappointed in her; after all, the favor could have been more beneficial to him.
