Leo was struggling to break free from the orb that he was trapped in. He didn't know how he was going to be able to find a way out of it.
Then he heard a massive explosion. Leo turned to see the smoke cloud forming where his house once stood. He was petrified when he realized that the cloud meant that his mother was no more, and he was all that was left of his family. Tears welled up in Leo's eyes, he was looking at the smoke cloud as they kept rising. “Mom, please no.” Leo's words were cut with sobs, “I couldn't do anything to save her, even in this world I am a weak pathetic being.” Leo sat down as the orb carried him away from the scene, looking at their house lying in destruction. The only thing Leo could think of was his past life and when he was still a high schooler. He lived all his life running from everyone and everything, he didn't want to be part of anything. In his former life, he had the name Lucas. He was a frail child neglected by the older people and bullied by most of his peers. He didn't know how he was ever going to be able to handle them. Lucas always lived his life hiding from the terrors of everyone that has bullied him. On his nineteenth birthday, he lost his mother to a deadly sickness that had haunted her. He didn't have anyone to turn to, he was left alone in the world. Carrying one thing with him, the words his late mother passed to him. “Lucas, you can change the world with your strength. You just have to believe in yourself and there is nothing you can't do. Be kind to people and treat everyone with respect.” His mother looked at him, the room was filled with the sound of her life support machine. Lucas looked at her, tears pouring from his eyes. He could not do anything to save his mother and he watched as she battled with the illness. There was nothing he could do. He was watching his mother leave him, the only person who had supported him all his life. She looked at him, “Live my son, live and make sure that you make people smile with your brave heart.” Those were her last words before her breathing ceased. Lucas couldn't bear the pain of losing his mother. Their house was broken apart, his father turned into an abusive monster that did nothing but beat him up every chance he got. Lucas didn't forget what his mother had told him before passing on. He carried the words in his heart until the day came when he ran into the boy and his mother. Lucas had chosen to ignore him, but then a truck came running down that path. Lucas, seeing that the boy couldn't see the truck due to the toy in his hand, didn't waste any time to throw himself in front of the truck, pushing the boy away. It was that act that brought him to Ivandale. When he opened his eyes, Lucas could hear and see everything. He remembered what had happened and his life before he came into that world, he saw that he was going to be something that no one would be able to mock. On his fifteenth birthday, Leo didn't unlock his magical affinity, but he didn't let that hold him down. Abigail was always cheering him up with words like, “One day it will come, and you will be one of the strongest warriors Ivandale has ever seen.” Leo thought that this life would be different. He would be with his mother till the end. But he was wrong, it was like his fate had other things installed for him. He had lost his mother yet again, and for all he knew, he was the last member of his family in that world. He never met his father, his mother would always tell him that his father was a warrior and both of them went on adventures together before they had him. Leo was all alone. The orb had taken Leo out of Lyron. He was not sure where it was taking him, but he knew that it was not going to be anywhere close to Lyron. "I don't know where this thing is taking me and I don't have the power to stop it. No matter which world I am in, I am still a loser who needs help to survive every little thing.” Leo scoffed, “I guess some things don’t ever change.” Leo didn't know what fate the orb was taking him to, but he knew that there was no way he would be going anywhere that was even as good as he would even think. The orb began slowing down, taking Leo down to the ground. He was not sure where he was, but he could see that there was no sign of the beings anymore. He was not even sure what was going to happen if anything was to come out to attack him. It would be his end and no one would be able to save him. “Where in the world am I?” Leo looked around, trying to see if he would see anything that would give him a hint of where he was. It was not clear where he was or why the orb brought him there, but he knew one thing, it was a far throw from home. The orb disappeared, leaving Leo alone in the middle of a thick forest. Leo looked around and was a bit confused and scared. It was his first time outside Lyron, and it was not what he thought it would be like. “Where in the world am I?” Leo looked around, trying to see if he was going to see anything that would give him a hint of where he was. He looked around, the entire area he stood was overflowing with mana, and he could feel it coursing through his entire body. If he had unlocked his affinity, then he would be able to cultivate the mana in the area. “Too bad, I don't even know what it feels like to have the power come from a place this blessed.” Leo was amazed that he could feel the mana overflowing in the area he stood in. Suddenly, there was a blood-curdling roar and the entire forest shook violently. Fear gripped Leo when he heard the sounds of a creature coming from the forest. He looked up and saw the birds and little critters running from the forest. “What in the world is that?” Leo looked in the direction the sound came from, and he felt an eerie wind coming from that side. He took a step back, fearing the worst. He was not even sure what would come out of the forest. He could hear the forceful shift of the trees, and Leo felt his heart pounding out of his chest. He didn't know what was coming, but he could feel the clear bloodlust coming from there. Leo stepped back, he saw a pair of pure red eyes in the direction where the sound was coming from. “What in the world is that thing?” Leo took steps back. He didn't know what it was that was coming for him, but it was not something he would even want to be tangled with. The creature emerged from the forest. Leo took one good look at it and knew that he was going to die the second time and this time there was no hope that he was going to make it out of this one. “An Orc Bear? I thought this thing only stayed in Siv, why is one here?!” Leo was filled with fear, he knew that there was no way he would even have the chance to face the creature in front of him. The Orc bear roared, and it caused the forest to shake once more. It looked at Leo with pure bloodlust in its eyes. Leo didn't move, trying to see if he would make the beast move. “I just need to find a way to run away without making this creature come after me.” Leo didn't move, but he was not going to be lucky this time. The Orc Bear charged for him. Leo jumped out of its path, but he wasn't fast enough. The Orc Bear managed to sink its claws into Leo's side. “Ah!” Leo let out a scream of pain, he fell to the ground. He looked up to see that the Orc Bear had stood up about to land another blow on him. Leo, mustering up every strength he had in him, moved out of the way. The Orc Bear didn't stop at that, it attacked Leo once again with a faster, deadlier attack. It grabbed Leo and tossed him up into the air. The Orc Bear landed more blows on Leo's body. “Oh no, I don't think I will be able to survive this.” Leo looked at his wounds, he saw that the Orc Bear wasn't done with him. He couldn't run anymore, he had lost the strength or will to even move anywhere. Leo laid on his back, his entire body was bleeding as he watched the Orc Bear coming close to end his life. ‘Fate has a funny way of telling me to stay down, doesn't it? I wonder why I am being forced to die the second time, why won't life let me be happy? Maybe this time the afterlife will greet me with open arms.’ Leo closed his eyes. He knew that there was no way he would be able to win a fight with the Orc Bear without magic. Even strong mages were rumoured to have problems with the Orc Bear. Leo didn't even want to know what he was going to do. He lay there accepting his fate, the moment he closed his eyes it was like he was seeing a vision or like he had entered another realm. He saw a man standing there. He couldn't see the man's face, but he was dressed like a warrior. “It is not yet your time to die, you still have to fulfill the prophecy.” The man said as he lifted his hand towards Leo. “What are you talking about? Who are you?” Leo was confused. He didn't know who the man was. “Use your strength and win.” The man shot a beam of energy towards Leo. The beam hit Leo in the chest. Suddenly, Leo could feel a surge of energy flowing through him. It was like a part of him was fully unlocked.Leo felt a surge of energy going through his body. He was not familiar with that amount of power. Leo was originally bigger and stronger than most children in Lyron, he was some kind of different breed. But Leo never questioned his strength, he was born with it and there was nothing about it that had made him question anything. But it was a bit different now, he had awakened something within him, and he was going to be using his powers to make sure that he didn't die. Leo got up, he was looking at the Orc Bear with pure rage in his eyes and there was no way he would be letting the creature land another blow on him like that. “What is this feeling?” Leo looked at his body. Although it was covered in wounds, he could feel energy and power coming from it. He looked at the Orc Bear as it prepared to charge at him one last time. He didn't know what he was going to do. The Orc Bear charged faster than before, but Leo didn't move this time. “Come on! Show me what you can do!” Leo l
Where Leo’s home stood, a crater was formed and there was no sign of life anywhere close to it. There was no way anyone would have survived an explosion that massive. Above the crater, three beings were hovering there. They resembled the ones that had attacked Leo’s home. “So they failed to bring in Abigail and the core. I wonder what they were thinking when they tried to face Abigail. Did they forget that she was the same person who fought with Vallin? I don't even know why I was stupid enough to let them go for her when I knew that I could have come on my own.” “You thought that there was going to be a chance that they wouldn't slip up, there was nothing there to tell you that you were sending fools to fight in a battle with a warrior you got a scar from. But for her to use a forbidden spell, it meant that she was trying to hide something from us. She also made sure that she killed the three useless soldiers we sent for her. There is no telling what might have been the secret s
Leo was looking at Darwin. He would never have imagined that there was a chance he would meet someone who knew his mother. Leo was looking at Darwin, he was trying to make sure that he didn't even make a mistake. “You knew my mother? You called her name. Do you know her?” Darwin rubbed his head, he didn't even know what he was going to do. He looked at the boy in front of him. He didn't know what he was going to do to make Leo stop asking questions. “If you ask me any other questions I might blow my head away, but there is no way for me to do that.” Darwin looked at Leo. He knew that the boy was still confused and everything was happening all too fast. Leo saw that Darwin was a bit stressed out. He noticed that all his wounds were healed and closed. He was in good condition, and he knew that the man in front of him might have been the one that made sure of that. “Sorry, I don't know what to do, and it's been a strange ride for the past few hours for me. Please tell me how yo
Leo was filled with hope, knowing that there would be a chance for him to become a stronger warrior and make sure he changed his life. “Master Darwin, if I am not mistaken, you also knew my father, right?” Leo smiled as he looked at Darwin. He wanted to learn more about his family before his training began. Darwin looked at Leo, the sad young man he had seen a few minutes ago had vanished, and he was looking at a boy who had hope, and he was going to do anything to make sure that he didn't fall back into depression. “Yes, I knew your father, he was one of the funniest fellows I met. He had a temper, a very nasty one, but when we got to talk to him, it was clear that he was a good guy. But even before we found out that he was a good guy, your mother would always be the one to knock some sense into him.” Darwin smiled as he was telling Leo about his parents. It was a clear sign that he had enjoyed his time with his old companions. Something that would always comfort him. Leo cou
“What do you mean by explode? There has to be an explanation for this, there is no way he is going to explode!” Darwin was looking at Varrick. He was a bit confused on hearing that Leo was going to explode if he tried to break the seal without training. “It means the seal that Abigail put on him is even stronger than a grade five scarlet core seal. For some reason, she wanted to make sure that he was not going to find it easy breaking the seal.” Varrick was looking at Leo. The boy was going to have a hard time thinking about breaking the seals, and it was going to be the hardest thing he could imagine doing. “You mean Abigail used that kind of spell on her son? But what was her reason for even putting it on him? I know that there were people after her, but then that means that there has to be something else she didn't drop in that message.” Darwin was not going to be thinking of what he was going to be doing that quickly. He had promised Leo that he would train him to break the se
The three stepped outside for the match to begin. Leo looked around and saw that they were deep in the heart of the forest and there were critters around there. Leo could feel the mana in the area, he saw that everywhere was filled with magic, and it was clear that there was a huge amount of mana there. “There is a huge amount of mana in the area, so I guess that all this is at the white mana core, right?” Leo looked at his master, he was waiting for Darwin to tell him that he was right. “Well no, the area is filled with Light Blue Mana Core.” He paused to see a defeated look on Leo's face. “Don't feel bad that you didn't get it right, it's not the end of the world. They feel like white mana cores and act like it, but that's one perk of the Heio forests; they don't usually give off what they are. You see, that way there is no one trying to cultivate the entire area for themselves.” Darwin paused when they had reached a particular area, “This is a good spot, it has all the space we
Darwin and Varrick were looking at Leo, they were shocked to see that the boy was still cultivating mana like it was something he would do normally. “This is pretty scary, how in the world was he able to break through the first seal and reach his dark blue mana core like this? This is something that needs to be studied.” Varrick was looking at Leo, he was emitting energy that only people who were strong warriors would have. Darwin laughed when he saw what Leo was doing without even being aware. “I don't know about you but all I see is a warrior that is ready to dance with me, I want to see what he can do,” Darwin said looking at Varrick, he was ready to face Leo in the sparring match. “You better be careful, for all we know, this boy doesn't even know his strength. There is something about his abilities that is still not settling right with me.” Varrick was looking at Leo, he didn't want his brother to lose his life all because of a foolish game he was going to be playing. “Don't
It had been four months since Leo had gone to Heio and discovered that he had a seal in his body. He had begun training with Darwin and Varrick to ensure that he broke the remaining two seals on him. It had taken two months for Leo to reach the intermediate sword master level and it was not easy for him but there was no way he would be seen as a normal warrior after what he and Darwin had been through the last four months. Both of them were sparring outside, the air was filled with the sound of their clashing blades. It was a hell of a spar, Leo had improved to the extent that he could push Darwin back to the wall. “You're getting better at wielding your sword Leo, I know in three months you will be a full-on sword warrior and nothing is going to be stopping you,” Darwin said as he tried to land a blow on Leo, but with everything he tried, Leo would react with a faster and stronger defence. “You keep saying that to boost my freaking ego, knowing it might be working. I will get to
