Leo felt a surge of energy going through his body. He was not familiar with that amount of power. Leo was originally bigger and stronger than most children in Lyron, he was some kind of different breed.

But Leo never questioned his strength, he was born with it and there was nothing about it that had made him question anything. But it was a bit different now, he had awakened something within him, and he was going to be using his powers to make sure that he didn't die.

Leo got up, he was looking at the Orc Bear with pure rage in his eyes and there was no way he would be letting the creature land another blow on him like that.

“What is this feeling?” Leo looked at his body. Although it was covered in wounds, he could feel energy and power coming from it.

He looked at the Orc Bear as it prepared to charge at him one last time. He didn't know what he was going to do. The Orc Bear charged faster than before, but Leo didn't move this time.

“Come on! Show me what you can do!” Leo let out a battle cry, he was filled with so much energy that it let him look at the Orc Bear like it was nothing to him. “This will not be like my last life, I will keep fighting until I am out of breath! I will not die running or hiding from anything!”

ARR! The Orc Bear roared as it charged for Leo. This time, it was faster and it was not looking at Leo like a prey anymore, but rather, it was seeing Leo as a threat.

The Orc Bear tried to slash Leo. The blow landed, but Leo only let the Orc Bear hit him so he could hold it down. “You might have slashed me the first time, but this time I will make sure that there is no other way you will do that!”

Leo, not knowing where he had gotten the strength from, knew that if he was to let the Orc Bear go then it would be his life on the line. He lifted the Orc Bear from the ground, and he then managed to throw the Orc Bear aside.

The Orc Bear fell, but it was not going to back down, it was going to find a way to kill Leo. Leo, on the other hand, was looking at the Orc Bear. He knew he had nothing to lose, but he was not going to let the creature kill him or even land another blow.

"This time I will stop running, I will have to make this life different from my last!” Leo looked at the creature, and he charged at the Orc Bear this time. Their collision sent a shockwave through the forest, and Leo held his own against the bear.

“You will not win! I will not die here! Ahhh!” Leo let out a cry before he landed a blow on the Orc Bear. The blow was so deadly it sent the Orc Bear into the ground. Leo had taken down a creature that the people of Lyron feared. Most people in Ivandale wouldn't even think of going up against an Orc Bear, but Leo had taken it down without having much complications.

Leo could barely stand, he was looking at the Orc Bear and he couldn't believe he was the one who had killed the creature. “How on earth did I do that? It should be a creature above the red mana core, so how did I, with no magical affinity or mana cultivation, beat it?”

Tired and exhausted, Leo fell to the ground due to all the wounds he had on his body. It was like he was not going to be walking for some time. Leo had passed out and there was no telling what would happen to him if he remained there.

Not far from him, two men were watching him face the bear. They chose not to interfere to see if he was the one that had come from the orb. “There is no doubt, he is Abigail’s boy and I know it’s odd, but why didn't he use his magic, and why is he here? Where is Abigail?”

“I can't feel the boy's magic, so he defeated that beast with his raw strength. But then I can also feel a seal. What did Abigail do to this boy? We have to make sure we take him back to the hut, we have to make sure he is okay,” one of the men suggested. He was not going to let Leo die there, and he wanted to know how Leo could kill the Orc Bear without using magic.

The men had taken Leo back to the hut where they laid him down and covered his wounds. They wanted to know what might have happened to bring him to Siv.

“He broke most of his bones fighting that beast. He has grown up to be like his father in terms of strength. But I still don't understand why Abigail put a seal on him,” one of the men said as he examined Leo. He saw that his mana core had been blocked since he was a little boy.

“This seal has been on him since he was a child, but it's like Abigail had a plan to make sure that he was in check for the long term.” The man looked at the seal on Leo.

It was a seal made with pure druidic magic, a magic that had surpassed three cores of mana. It was clear she had a reason for trying to seal her son’s mana core. “He is going to find it hard to cultivate his mana if he was to be unsealed.”

“But he will still catch up. After all, he is the son of the last Dragon King. Even if he has his mother’s blood running in him. His human gene is only taking up thirty percent of his body, he is a dragon that hasn't yet unlocked his core.” The man looked at Leo, he was trying to see if he would get anything out of what happened to Abigail.

They were looking at Leo when they felt something coming. The men were on high alert, prepared to face any threat that came their way. But it wasn't a threat, it was the necklace Abigail threw to protect Leo.

“This is Abigail’s amulet. What is it doing here?” The man asked, looking at the amulet. He wasn't going to let anything surprise him.

The amulet let out a little glow, a holographic image of Abigail came out, and it was of her when she was a bit younger.

“I don't know who is seeing this, but I pray it's my brothers in Siv. If you are seeing this message, it means that they found us, and I am probably dead.”

The men watching the message stood there petrified. They didn't know what they were going to say or do when they heard that Abigail might have passed away.

“After we left to live a normal life in Aranthia amongst the humans, we were tracked down by a group of powerful beings called The Fangs Of Chaos. They were the ones that killed my husband, Vallin.

Their mission was to take Vallin's draconic mana core to unlock their sealed masters. Vallin, before he died, transferred all his mana core to his son Leo, saying that his son would be the one that would bring an end to the chaos coming from Ivandale.

He urged me to seal his mana core until he was older so that we could live a peaceful life in the meantime, and I know that there is no way they will stop until they make sure that they collect the mana core and release the end of the world. Please take care of Leo. One wish I have is that you let him break the seal himself. It will make him cultivate his powers more efficiently than anyone, and it will also let him become strong enough to take on the Fangs Of Chaos and let him win them in battle. He is the last hope Ivandale has to stand against the coming chaos.”

The hologram went off leaving the Amulet behind and the men were shocked when they saw the message. They looked at Leo, they didn't know what they were going to do or say.

“Abigail is gone? The Fangs Of Chaos? What is going on here? There is no way that some people could have been able to kill Vallin like that and even push Abigail to the corner. Vallin was a freaking Dragon King, he was a creature that had surpassed the Golden Mana Core. How is it possible that he was killed by a group of people that we are just hearing of for the first time?”

“It's strange, but if what this message said is accurate, then we have to train this boy to become stronger. He already showed he had his father's strength. I know he will break through his mana cores in no time. We just have to pray that nothing happens while we train him. The last thing we want is to face opponents that can easily kill a Dragon King.”

They looked at Leo. The boy was a sign of hope for Ivandale, someone who would rise above all and ensure that the land is not destroyed.

Where Leo’s home stood, a crater was formed and there was no sign of life anywhere close to it. There was no way anyone would have survived an explosion that massive. Above the crater, three beings were hovering there. They resembled the ones that had attacked Leo’s home. “So they failed to bring in Abigail and the core. I wonder what they were thinking when they tried to face Abigail. Did they forget that she was the same person who fought with Vallin? I don't even know why I was stupid enough to let them go for her when I knew that I could have come on my own.” “You thought that there was going to be a chance that they wouldn't slip up, there was nothing there to tell you that you were sending fools to fight in a battle with a warrior you got a scar from. But for her to use a forbidden spell, it meant that she was trying to hide something from us. She also made sure that she killed the three useless soldiers we sent for her. Leo was looking at Darwin. He would never have imagined that there was a chance he would meet someone who knew his mother. Leo was looking at Darwin, he was trying to make sure that he didn't even make a mistake. “You knew my mother? You called her name. Do you know her?” Darwin rubbed his head, he didn't even know what he was going to do. He looked at the boy in front of him. He didn't know what he was going to do to make Leo stop asking questions. “If you ask me any other questions I might blow my head away, but there is no way for me to do that.” Darwin looked at Leo. He knew that the boy was still confused and everything was happening all too fast. Leo saw that Darwin was a bit stressed out. He noticed that all his wounds were healed and closed. He was in good condition, and he knew that the man in front of him might have been the one that made sure of that. “Sorry, I don't know what to do, and it's been a strange ride for the past few hours for me. Please tell me how yo

Leo was filled with hope, knowing that there would be a chance for him to become a stronger warrior and make sure he changed his life. “Master Darwin, if I am not mistaken, you also knew my father, right?” Leo smiled as he looked at Darwin. He wanted to learn more about his family before his training began. Darwin looked at Leo, the sad young man he had seen a few minutes ago had vanished, and he was looking at a boy who had hope, and he was going to do anything to make sure that he didn't fall back into depression. “Yes, I knew your father, he was one of the funniest fellows I met. He had a temper, a very nasty one, but when we got to talk to him, it was clear that he was a good guy. But even before we found out that he was a good guy, your mother would always be the one to knock some sense into him.” Darwin smiled as he was telling Leo about his parents. It was a clear sign that he had enjoyed his time with his old companions. Something that would always comfort him. Leo cou

“What do you mean by explode? There has to be an explanation for this, there is no way he is going to explode!” Darwin was looking at Varrick. He was a bit confused on hearing that Leo was going to explode if he tried to break the seal without training. “It means the seal that Abigail put on him is even stronger than a grade five scarlet core seal. For some reason, she wanted to make sure that he was not going to find it easy breaking the seal.” Varrick was looking at Leo. The boy was going to have a hard time thinking about breaking the seals, and it was going to be the hardest thing he could imagine doing. “You mean Abigail used that kind of spell on her son? But what was her reason for even putting it on him? I know that there were people after her, but then that means that there has to be something else she didn't drop in that message.” Darwin was not going to be thinking of what he was going to be doing that quickly. He had promised Leo that he would train him to break the se

The three stepped outside for the match to begin. Leo looked around and saw that they were deep in the heart of the forest and there were critters around there. Leo could feel the mana in the area, he saw that everywhere was filled with magic, and it was clear that there was a huge amount of mana there. “There is a huge amount of mana in the area, so I guess that all this is at the white mana core, right?” Leo looked at his master, he was waiting for Darwin to tell him that he was right. “Well no, the area is filled with Light Blue Mana Core.” He paused to see a defeated look on Leo's face. “Don't feel bad that you didn't get it right, it's not the end of the world. They feel like white mana cores and act like it, but that's one perk of the Heio forests; they don't usually give off what they are. You see, that way there is no one trying to cultivate the entire area for themselves.” Darwin paused when they had reached a particular area, “This is a good spot, it has all the space we

Darwin and Varrick were looking at Leo, they were shocked to see that the boy was still cultivating mana like it was something he would do normally. “This is pretty scary, how in the world was he able to break through the first seal and reach his dark blue mana core like this? This is something that needs to be studied.” Varrick was looking at Leo, he was emitting energy that only people who were strong warriors would have. Darwin laughed when he saw what Leo was doing without even being aware. “I don't know about you but all I see is a warrior that is ready to dance with me, I want to see what he can do,” Darwin said looking at Varrick, he was ready to face Leo in the sparring match. “You better be careful, for all we know, this boy doesn't even know his strength. There is something about his abilities that is still not settling right with me.” Varrick was looking at Leo, he didn't want his brother to lose his life all because of a foolish game he was going to be playing. “Don't

It had been four months since Leo had gone to Heio and discovered that he had a seal in his body. He had begun training with Darwin and Varrick to ensure that he broke the remaining two seals on him. It had taken two months for Leo to reach the intermediate sword master level and it was not easy for him but there was no way he would be seen as a normal warrior after what he and Darwin had been through the last four months. Both of them were sparring outside, the air was filled with the sound of their clashing blades. It was a hell of a spar, Leo had improved to the extent that he could push Darwin back to the wall. “You're getting better at wielding your sword Leo, I know in three months you will be a full-on sword warrior and nothing is going to be stopping you,” Darwin said as he tried to land a blow on Leo, but with everything he tried, Leo would react with a faster and stronger defence. “You keep saying that to boost my freaking ego, knowing it might be working. Leo and Darwin walked back to the treehouse, and they walked into Varrick making a potion. He was deep in concentration and everything seemed to be glowing. Varrick was trying to find a way to make sure that they broke the remaining two seals and unlock Leo's affinity, but in everything he had checked, there was nothing he found that was going to help him. ‘He is a Dragonborn and I don’t know the first thing about Dragonborns and their affinity. Only the heavens know how long it’s going to take to bring it out.” Varrick was lost in his thoughts, he didn’t know what the outcome of the entire research was. “You look busy,” Darwin said as he looked around trying to make sure that he wouldn’t tip anything over. Varrick snapped out of the daze and quickly put a smile on his face. He wanted to make sure that there was no sign of worry on him. “You’re back early, so who won this time?” Varrick asked, still with the smile on his face and looking at the two as they walked in. “The kid tho

"The principal went to see her. They probably think she's the one who did that to the field," Leo muttered, constantly pacing right outside the principal's office. Jason and Anaya gave each other meaningful glances, visibly trying to piece everything together. After Sylvia had fainted in front of them, they quickly rushed her to the school nurse. The school principal had gone in moments later, sweating profusely, with his eyes widened in shock. "Well, isn’t she?" Anaya asked sternly. "Of course not," Leo snapped, he never wasted any time when it came to defending Sylvia. Anaya swept her hands through her hair, her annoyance growing by the minute as she spoke. "My goodness, open your eyes, Leo. The evidence is overwhelming. Sylvia hasn’t been in school in days. I didn’t even see her at the gathering—did you?" she said, pointing at Jason. Jason tilted his head thoughtfully before slowly shaking his head. "Exactly. And then, the minute she shows up, she’s bruised and battered at

The club festivities faded and the real party began in the school. They made their way into the school auditorium and noticed all that had been laid out. Music, amazing snacks, even a huge disco ball—the very best Scarlet Magic High School had to offer, and yet somehow someone didn't seem to like it. "This party is lame," Sebastian sighed, swirling his drink with a straw. "Not as lame as the ones royals throw," Leo remarked. Sebastian's eyes widened, his shock noticeable in his expression. He quickly turned to Jason, looking for some kind of validation. Royal gatherings had always been the talk of the kingdom; people who had the luxury of being in attendance just couldn't stop talking about it. Jason noticed Sebastian's gaze and slowly replied, "You'd be surprised." "That can't be true. Have you been to one, Anaya?" Sebastian asked, hoping she'd give him the answer he had been believing all his life. However, Anaya hadn't said a word for a long time. "Anaya? W..." Sebastia

"Mhmm, then the after party," Sebastian added excitedly. "Crazy..." Leo murmured when a centaur casually sashayed right by him. "Come on, let's check that out," Anaya said eagerly, dragging them toward the archery section. The person in charge of the spot had just released his bow, landing his arrow in a perfect bullseye. He turned to them, flashing his pearly white teeth, and said, "Impressive, isn't it?" Anaya scoffed at his words and rolled her eyes. "Anaya," Chris greeted with a deep grin. "Chris," Anaya replied flatly. "Leo, Jason, and Sebastian. Glad we're all caught up," Leo joked. Anaya rolled her eyes and smiled before turning to Sebastian. "This looks fun. "Then why do you want us to go, especially when we have so much to d—" Anaya placed her index finger on Leo's lips and interjected, "Shh... enough with the book talk. I'm starting to think you both like this more than I do. Come to school tomorrow in your finest costumes, and don't even think of blowing me off." "Should we dress to match? Like one of us will be bread, one will be peanut butter, and the other will be jam?" Jason said excitedly, beginning to like the idea. "Hold on—who's the jam?" Anaya asked, her eyes widening in expectation. "And who's the bread?" Leo added, wrinkling his nose. He never seemed

Anaya walked over to them after her long conversation with one of the classmates. This was the longest she had spoken to anyone other than Jason and Leo since she stepped foot into the school. She was still laughing heartily as she said, "You guys are not going to believe what happened to Mr. Fickletie Berry..." Her laughter slowly faded once she saw how drained they looked. "What happened to you two?" she asked, worry etched on her face. However, she received no reply, only aggrieved sighs. Anaya's frown deepened as she felt she was being given the silent treatment. "Look, are you guys still upset about the prank thing? I said I was sorry." "No, we're not upset, honest," Jason assured, waving his hands frantically. Anaya slowly nodded and replied, "Okay, good... But then, why do you both look like you're about to jump me?" Leo chuckled slightly at her comment, and Jason responded, without a sigh, "My dad made us scrub the ballroom floor when he found out that we were not in

"Where have you two been?" Sydney asked again. The boys looked at each other in panic, both wondering if one of them had a reasonable and, most importantly, a believable answer. "Uhh..." they hummed simultaneously, a distressed smile forming on their faces. Sydney suddenly walked toward them abruptly. They closed their eyes, mentally preparing for a huge scolding, but instead, they felt the warmth of her arms wrap around them tightly. A sigh escaped her lips before she exhaled in one breath, "Do you know how worried we were? Alex had to send the guards out to look for you." "Look for us?" Leo asked, a little astonished. "Of course! And he didn't even send ordinary guards..." Sydney paused and looked around. The boys raised a brow at her odd movements but didn't think much of it. She leaned closer to them and whispered, "He sent the Red Claws." "What?!" Jason exclaimed in a similar hushed tone. "Who are the Red Claws?" Leo inquired, almost cluelessly. "You could have been attacked or worse—" "Will you boys just let me finish?" Anaya snapped abruptly, cutting them off. The room fell silent once more, and Anaya took a deep breath, dusted the hem of her shirt, and continued. "Thank you... As I was saying, when I came in, I wa

With the number of enemies they were accumulating, it wasn’t far-fetched to think that the letter might not have been written by Anaya. Leo scoffed, rummaging through his bag. "That's why I brought our wands, genius," he said, waving the wands in front of Jason’s face. Jason shook his head at his childish behavior, not wanting to remind his friend that they barely knew how to use them. He looked at the locker and tapped it softly three times, exactly. They waited for a while, but nothing happened. Jason decided to try again, but it was the same result. "You’re not doing it right," Leo said plainly, causing Jason’s brow to furrow in annoyance. "What do you mean? That’s three solid taps right there!" Jason responded immediately. "You’re supposed to do it slowly." "I did!" Jason replied, his ag
