Where Leo’s home stood, a crater was formed and there was no sign of life anywhere close to it. There was no way anyone would have survived an explosion that massive. Above the crater, three beings were hovering there. They resembled the ones that had attacked Leo’s home.
“So they failed to bring in Abigail and the core. I wonder what they were thinking when they tried to face Abigail. Did they forget that she was the same person who fought with Vallin? I don't even know why I was stupid enough to let them go for her when I knew that I could have come on my own.” “You thought that there was going to be a chance that they wouldn't slip up, there was nothing there to tell you that you were sending fools to fight in a battle with a warrior you got a scar from. But for her to use a forbidden spell, it meant that she was trying to hide something from us. She also made sure that she killed the three useless soldiers we sent for her. There is no telling what might have been the secret she was hiding that made her even think of blowing herself up?” “I don't know, but we can't put our plans on the sidelines for long, the age of chaos and the time of destruction is nigh.” The beings vanished from the scene, leaving the place like they were never there. Back in the forest, Leo was still in a comatose state. The men were making sure that his wounds were being healed, and he was not going to be awake in the meantime. Leo kept moving uneasy in his sleep, having flashbacks of his past life and his mother dying. He kept seeing Abigail’s smile before she blew everything up. “Oi Varrick, the boy is shaking violently in his sleep, I wonder what he is dreaming about,” one of the men said as he looked at Leo shaking in his sleep. The uneasy shaking coming from the boy was disturbing. “It is clear that he went through some trouble, even though he is Vallin’s son. He has just survived one of Ivandale’s threats as a creature and there is no telling what he has been through before coming here. Come on Darwin, I know you are not thinking of waking up that boy like that. He might lose it.” Varrick and Darwin were warriors who resided in the forest Heio, which was located in Sylvanmentra. They were Abigail's comrades, which was why the orb brought Leo to them. Darwin rolled his eyes at Varrick's comment. “You think I am that cold? Please, I am not going to wake him up, I am only checking him for wounds that we might have missed.” “He has all the features of a dragon pup, but his mother's druid blood runs through him. There is a chance that he will be Tri-elemental if he were to break all the seals.” Darwin smiled, he didn't even want to hold himself to think of what wonders the boy in front of him would be able to do. “It will not be a surprise, his mother was a dual-elemental with a scary mana core. She was able to subdue Vallin before any of us could do anything to him,” Varek sat down to look at Leo. He was having a hard time remembering Abigail and what she could do. The people of Ivandale were able to cultivate the mana surrounding them to control the elements, once anyone in Ivandale awakened the mana core within them. They would cultivate it until they got their affinity, humans could control one element at a time, and in rare cases, they would be dual elemental people who could control two elements. People like Abigail had two elements; she had wind magic and could also control star magic due to her druidic training. It was something that no one would have even thought of doing. She was one of the few humans who had reached the highest form of druidic power. But beings like Elves and Dwarves were naturally born dual elementals, they controlled wind, earth, lighting, and metal. They were some of the strongest creatures of Ivandale, and they posed a threat to the humans if they were ever to go berserk. There were other creatures in Ivandale, but they were hidden from the people. They were rumoured to be covered in mana, and could destroy a continent if they were angered. Creatures like dragons were almost seen as myths or extinct beings that didn't even exist in the world. “You saw what his father could do, a dragon king, the last of his kind. I only hope this boy won't make things hard for us while trying to make him train.” Darwin sat down to prepare something that would help Leo wake up. He didn't want to let anything hurt him. “It's the first time we have seen a hybrid, but I know that he is going to be somewhat of a promising warrior.” Varek smiled as he watched his brother work, he didn't even do anything but wait for Leo to wake up. Leo was stuck in somewhat of a trance, he had been wandering in what looked like a labyrinth in his dream. He had tried many times to get out. “What in the world is going on here?” Leo sounded a bit frustrated. He looked around the empty void. It looked like an Observatory, the ceiling filled with stars, and he could see meteors moving in the void space. Leo had been trying for what looked like a lifetime. He didn't even know what he would do. Feeling defeated, Leo stood at a place. “I am tired, how am I ever going to leave this place?” Leo stood up and looked around where he stood and didn't see a single life form. “So I am stuck here? But where is this anyway?” Leo asked as he looked around the place he stood in. He was trying to find out if there was an opening for him to leave through. He was not even sure he knew how he was able to get into a place like that. “You came here the moment you lost consciousness,” a voice said from above Leo. Leo had goosebumps when he heard the voice. It sounded deep and what people would call the voice of a god. Leo looked up to see who was there, but he didn't see anything. It sent shivers down his spine. He didn't know what or who it was that was in place with him. “There is no need to be afraid. You can't see me for now. You have not yet broken the first layer of the seal. But for you to enter this place means you have already started. Abigail did a good job.” Leo's eyes widened when he heard his mother's name mentioned. “How do you know my mother? Who are you?!” There were sounds of laughter coming from the voice, it seemed like it was happy to see Leo there. “You do look like her, but you seem to have that fire inside you. I know you will be someone great. For now, I can’t talk to you, but when you break the first layer of the seal you will be able to come back here, and I will tell you who I am.” Leo was looking around, and he was sure that there was no way he would be able to find the person talking. “Who are you? And what are you trying to do?” Leo was not ready to fight anyone, he was still shaken from his fight with the Orc Bear. But he was not going to let anything surprise him. “Do you know where this is? Can you help me get away from here?” The voice gave off a light sigh, as he began to give Leo the answers he needed. “This is a space made for our kind, it is a place you will come to take rest whenever you lose consciousness. It is safe, since no being can come in here.” Leo was confused further when he heard that he was different and not human, “What in the world do you mean by our kind? Are you not human? What are you trying to say?” The voice scoffed, “Don't worry, you will know before the next time we meet again. I hope that you don't come here like this again. For now, goodbye Leo .” “Wait what, how do you know who I am?” Before Leo could finish his words, he felt something pull him from the place he was standing. Leo then opened his eyes, taking a deep breath as if he had survived drowning. Leo coughed as he struggled to sit up. He looked around the room he was in, noticing that there were so many things there. “Where in the world am I? What happened to that voice?” “What voice? Did you visit the afterlife and somehow make it back to the living?” Darwin teased. Leo sprung up in fear when he heard Darwin’s voice. He turned to see a man standing there. The man had dark brown hair and deep blue eyes. He wore a sleeveless shirt and a coat that seemed to be made from an animal he had killed. The man looked fierce and intimidating, but his voice was a bit misleading. “Sheesh, I am not that ugly. There is no need to hurt my feelings.” Darwin sat down as he handed Leo a bowl, “Drink this, it will help boost your stamina.” Leo was still confused, and he didn't know what was happening. He only remembered facing a seven-foot-tall creature that almost killed him. But in what seemed like a dream, he killed the Orc Bear. “Who are you? What of the Orc Bear? Did you kill it? And why are you giving me something to drink? I don't even know you, are you some kind of trafficker?” Leo was looking at the man, he didn't know who he was, and he was not going to take chances with anyone. Darwin dropped the bowl to the ground, he had an irritated look on his face, but he was not sure what he would do to Leo. “For the love of heaven, you just asked five questions in under twenty seconds. If I wanted to kill you I would have done that after I saw you kill that Orc Bear!” Leo was shocked when he heard what Darwin said, so it was not a dream. He was the one who had killed the Orc Bear. “You mean I killed that thing? How?!” A vein almost popped out of Darwin’s head when he heard Leo’s question. “You questioned it to death! Just like you want to do to me now! My gods, you are just like Abigail.” Leo went silent when he heard the man call his mother’s name. “You knew my mom?”Related Chapters

Leo was looking at Darwin. He would never have imagined that there was a chance he would meet someone who knew his mother. Leo was looking at Darwin, he was trying to make sure that he didn't even make a mistake. “You knew my mother? You called her name. Do you know her?” Darwin rubbed his head, he didn't even know what he was going to do. He looked at the boy in front of him. He didn't know what he was going to do to make Leo stop asking questions. “If you ask me any other questions I might blow my head away, but there is no way for me to do that.” Darwin looked at Leo. He knew that the boy was still confused and everything was happening all too fast. Leo saw that Darwin was a bit stressed out. He noticed that all his wounds were healed and closed. He was in good condition, and he knew that the man in front of him might have been the one that made sure of that. “Sorry, I don't know what to do, and it's been a strange ride for the past few hours for me. Please tell me how yo

Leo was filled with hope, knowing that there would be a chance for him to become a stronger warrior and make sure he changed his life. “Master Darwin, if I am not mistaken, you also knew my father, right?” Leo smiled as he looked at Darwin. He wanted to learn more about his family before his training began. Darwin looked at Leo, the sad young man he had seen a few minutes ago had vanished, and he was looking at a boy who had hope, and he was going to do anything to make sure that he didn't fall back into depression. “Yes, I knew your father, he was one of the funniest fellows I met. He had a temper, a very nasty one, but when we got to talk to him, it was clear that he was a good guy. But even before we found out that he was a good guy, your mother would always be the one to knock some sense into him.” Darwin smiled as he was telling Leo about his parents. It was a clear sign that he had enjoyed his time with his old companions. Something that would always comfort him. Leo cou

“What do you mean by explode? There has to be an explanation for this, there is no way he is going to explode!” Darwin was looking at Varrick. He was a bit confused on hearing that Leo was going to explode if he tried to break the seal without training. “It means the seal that Abigail put on him is even stronger than a grade five scarlet core seal. For some reason, she wanted to make sure that he was not going to find it easy breaking the seal.” Varrick was looking at Leo. The boy was going to have a hard time thinking about breaking the seals, and it was going to be the hardest thing he could imagine doing. “You mean Abigail used that kind of spell on her son? But what was her reason for even putting it on him? I know that there were people after her, but then that means that there has to be something else she didn't drop in that message.” Darwin was not going to be thinking of what he was going to be doing that quickly. He had promised Leo that he would train him to break the se

The three stepped outside for the match to begin. Leo looked around and saw that they were deep in the heart of the forest and there were critters around there. Leo could feel the mana in the area, he saw that everywhere was filled with magic, and it was clear that there was a huge amount of mana there. “There is a huge amount of mana in the area, so I guess that all this is at the white mana core, right?” Leo looked at his master, he was waiting for Darwin to tell him that he was right. “Well no, the area is filled with Light Blue Mana Core.” He paused to see a defeated look on Leo's face. “Don't feel bad that you didn't get it right, it's not the end of the world. They feel like white mana cores and act like it, but that's one perk of the Heio forests; they don't usually give off what they are. You see, that way there is no one trying to cultivate the entire area for themselves.” Darwin paused when they had reached a particular area, “This is a good spot, it has all the space we

Darwin and Varrick were looking at Leo, they were shocked to see that the boy was still cultivating mana like it was something he would do normally. “This is pretty scary, how in the world was he able to break through the first seal and reach his dark blue mana core like this? This is something that needs to be studied.” Varrick was looking at Leo, he was emitting energy that only people who were strong warriors would have. Darwin laughed when he saw what Leo was doing without even being aware. “I don't know about you but all I see is a warrior that is ready to dance with me, I want to see what he can do,” Darwin said looking at Varrick, he was ready to face Leo in the sparring match. “You better be careful, for all we know, this boy doesn't even know his strength. There is something about his abilities that is still not settling right with me.” Varrick was looking at Leo, he didn't want his brother to lose his life all because of a foolish game he was going to be playing. “Don't
Leo The Dragon Heir Chapter 10
It had been four months since Leo had gone to Heio and discovered that he had a seal in his body. He had begun training with Darwin and Varrick to ensure that he broke the remaining two seals on him. It had taken two months for Leo to reach the intermediate sword master level and it was not easy for him but there was no way he would be seen as a normal warrior after what he and Darwin had been through the last four months. Both of them were sparring outside, the air was filled with the sound of their clashing blades. It was a hell of a spar, Leo had improved to the extent that he could push Darwin back to the wall. “You're getting better at wielding your sword Leo, I know in three months you will be a full-on sword warrior and nothing is going to be stopping you,” Darwin said as he tried to land a blow on Leo, but with everything he tried, Leo would react with a faster and stronger defence. “You keep saying that to boost my freaking ego, knowing it might be working. I will get to
Leo The Dragon Heir Chapter 11
Leo and Darwin walked back to the treehouse, and they walked into Varrick making a potion. He was deep in concentration and everything seemed to be glowing. Varrick was trying to find a way to make sure that they broke the remaining two seals and unlock Leo's affinity, but in everything he had checked, there was nothing he found that was going to help him. ‘He is a Dragonborn and I don’t know the first thing about Dragonborns and their affinity. Only the heavens know how long it’s going to take to bring it out.” Varrick was lost in his thoughts, he didn’t know what the outcome of the entire research was. “You look busy,” Darwin said as he looked around trying to make sure that he wouldn’t tip anything over. Varrick snapped out of the daze and quickly put a smile on his face. He wanted to make sure that there was no sign of worry on him. “You’re back early, so who won this time?” Varrick asked, still with the smile on his face and looking at the two as they walked in. “The kid tho
Leo The Dragon Heir Chapter 12: Dungeon Raid
Leo felt like the night won’t end. His thoughts roamed around. He was excited but scared about the dungeon raid. “What if Darwin’s plan fails? Would I be able to unlock the seal to reach my affinity?” Doubts crossed his mind but he was determined to achieve his goal. The stars disappeared and the sun began to rise. Leo did not get an ounce of sleep. “Are those eye bags?” Darwin asked, staring into Leo’s eyes. Leo staggered towards Darwin and pricked a smile. “Little eye bags. Anxiety got the better of me,” he yawned, cleaning his eyes with his palms. Darwin gently tapped Leo. “Don’t worry, you got this,” he motivated, smiling brightly. Leo smirked, cracking his fingers. “Yes, Master Darwin. Let’s go!” he exclaimed, excited. Darwin and Leo began their journey to the dungeon. They make their way out of Heio forest to the deep cluster of dungeons. The excitement was written all over Leo’s face. Darwin knew that he had to do all it takes to help Leo unlock his affinity. “About

CHAPTER 93: ARE YOU....?
Cold sweat soaked both the pillow and silk beddings. Anaya's breathing moved fast while her heartbeat threatened to break her heart free from her chest. Everything appeared misty while the room continued spinning. Her panic caused yet another hyperventilation episode. But before she could descend into a further state of panic, soft warm hands took hold of her body, which were contrary to her own clammy, rough and pale hands. A gentle voice asked "Are you okay?" Anaya replied "Yes, I'm fine" through hurried nodding. Sydney gave Anaya a glass of water as she spoke. Anaya took the cup without a second thought and drank so quickly you’d think she’d been stranded in the desert for days. Droplets of water trickled from her lips down her neck due to her haste. Once the water was finished, she handed the cup back to Sydney, mumbling, “Thank you.” Sydney dropped the glass next to the bed before saying "You're welcome." She watched Anaya breathe while holding her hand and a gentle smi
CHAPTER 92: HEY ANAYA
Varrick sat by himself with a good book, Darwin sharpened his daggers and Sydney knitted sweaters in a chair as they waited for dinner. Then suddenly Leo and Jason appeared before them looking exhausted and distraught. Sydney smiled after recovering from the jump scare; “Looks like someone's acing the conjuring class.” With a few more praises to offer in their stocks, Varrick and Darwin prepared to join but stopped when they saw the girl Jason’s arms, pale and lifeless. "What happened?" Putting his book down and walking toward them, Varrick asked. "She just started hyperventilating, we don't know." Leo replied. "How long has it been?" Varrick began checking her pulse and vitals as he questioned them. For a moment, Jason's voice shook just softly and he could barely get the words out, "Thirty minutes… maybe more." Varrick inspected her palm, noticing the freshly reopened wound. He exchanged meaningful glances with Darwin, who had also caught sight of the injury. "Hand h

"I'm not insinuating anything, Leo. Don't you get it? Sylvia is one of them." Leo turned to Jason and asked, "You don't think that's true, do you?" Jason averted his gaze, finding it hard to respond. "Jason?" Leo pressed, his hurt evident. Noticing the change in his tone, Jason quickly said, "I just think we shouldn't point fingers just yet... Although her relationship with the inspector is rather odd. Why didn't she tell us she knew her from the beginning?" Leo nodded and took a few steps forward. "Leo..." Jason called out, trying to salvage the situation, but Leo wasn't ready to listen. He simply continued walking away from where they stood. "Leo, wait. Anaya, say something," Jason urged. Neither of them seemed to care at that moment. "Let him leave. Once he has a clear head, he'll come back, and we can all go home," Anaya muttered, trying her hardest to stay calm. "You can't be serious, Anaya," Jason exclaimed. But Anaya's attention had shifted to a different subject en
CHAPTER 90: ONE OF THEM
They finally reached the open window but couldn't go in just yet. The principal was still in the room, and he looked livid. "Alright, Lady Sylvia, since you want to be difficult, let's see how smug you get when you're face-to-face with Miss Renee." Sylvia's face drained completely of color once the principal said those words. He grumbled a few more words and walked out in a huff. The sound of the door slamming made Sylvia jerk in fear. She looked incredibly pale, and her lips were cracked and had already started to bleed. Anaya's eyes softened slightly when she saw her, but looking at her palm again, she knew that she needed answers, and the sooner she got them, the better. They waited a few minutes before climbing in through the window. "Hello, Sylvia. How are you feeling?" Anaya asked, her attitude a little nonchalant. Sylvia quickly sat up, her body tensing and her eyes widening as she stammered, "What are you doing here? You can't be in here!" "Why? Something to hide, Sylvi
CHAPTER 89: LEAVE
"The principal went to see her. They probably think she's the one who did that to the field," Leo muttered, constantly pacing right outside the principal's office. Jason and Anaya gave each other meaningful glances, visibly trying to piece everything together. After Sylvia had fainted in front of them, they quickly rushed her to the school nurse. The school principal had gone in moments later, sweating profusely, with his eyes widened in shock. "Well, isn’t she?" Anaya asked sternly. "Of course not," Leo snapped, he never wasted any time when it came to defending Sylvia. Anaya swept her hands through her hair, her annoyance growing by the minute as she spoke. "My goodness, open your eyes, Leo. The evidence is overwhelming. Sylvia hasn’t been in school in days. I didn’t even see her at the gathering—did you?" she said, pointing at Jason. Jason tilted his head thoughtfully before slowly shaking his head. "Exactly. And then, the minute she shows up, she’s bruised and battered at
CHAPTER 88: A MESSAGE
The club festivities faded and the real party began in the school. They made their way into the school auditorium and noticed all that had been laid out. Music, amazing snacks, even a huge disco ball—the very best Scarlet Magic High School had to offer, and yet somehow someone didn't seem to like it. "This party is lame," Sebastian sighed, swirling his drink with a straw. "Not as lame as the ones royals throw," Leo remarked. Sebastian's eyes widened, his shock noticeable in his expression. He quickly turned to Jason, looking for some kind of validation. Royal gatherings had always been the talk of the kingdom; people who had the luxury of being in attendance just couldn't stop talking about it. Jason noticed Sebastian's gaze and slowly replied, "You'd be surprised." "That can't be true. Have you been to one, Anaya?" Sebastian asked, hoping she'd give him the answer he had been believing all his life. However, Anaya hadn't said a word for a long time. "Anaya? W..." Sebastia

They turned heads everywhere they went, although the boys were almost certain that was Anaya's doing. The field was filled with various activities: chess, Pegasus riding, flame throwing, and much, much more. "So basically, all we need to do is choose a club," Jason said. "Mhmm, then the after party," Sebastian added excitedly. "Crazy..." Leo murmured when a centaur casually sashayed right by him. "Come on, let's check that out," Anaya said eagerly, dragging them toward the archery section. The person in charge of the spot had just released his bow, landing his arrow in a perfect bullseye. He turned to them, flashing his pearly white teeth, and said, "Impressive, isn't it?" Anaya scoffed at his words and rolled her eyes. "Anaya," Chris greeted with a deep grin. "Chris," Anaya replied flatly. "Leo, Jason, and Sebastian. Glad we're all caught up," Leo joked. Anaya rolled her eyes and smiled before turning to Sebastian. "This looks fun. Do you want to give it a shot?"
CHAPTER 86: LEPRECHAUNS DON'T DRESS LIKE THAT
Anaya assured Sebastian that they would definitely be in attendance, shocking both Leo and Jason. After hearing her assurance, Sebastian left for his classes, skipping happily. Jason looked at the flyer carefully and stared at Anaya with a raised brow. "You want to join a club?" Jason asked, passing the flyer to Leo. "Of course not," Anaya replied rather quickly. "Then why do you want us to go, especially when we have so much to d—" Anaya placed her index finger on Leo's lips and interjected, "Shh... enough with the book talk. I'm starting to think you both like this more than I do. Come to school tomorrow in your finest costumes, and don't even think of blowing me off." "Should we dress to match? Like one of us will be bread, one will be peanut butter, and the other will be jam?" Jason said excitedly, beginning to like the idea. "Hold on—who's the jam?" Anaya asked, her eyes widening in expectation. "And who's the bread?" Leo added, wrinkling his nose. He never seemed
CHAPTER 85: A DISTRACTION...
Anaya walked over to them after her long conversation with one of the classmates. This was the longest she had spoken to anyone other than Jason and Leo since she stepped foot into the school. She was still laughing heartily as she said, "You guys are not going to believe what happened to Mr. Fickletie Berry..." Her laughter slowly faded once she saw how drained they looked. "What happened to you two?" she asked, worry etched on her face. However, she received no reply, only aggrieved sighs. Anaya's frown deepened as she felt she was being given the silent treatment. "Look, are you guys still upset about the prank thing? I said I was sorry." "No, we're not upset, honest," Jason assured, waving his hands frantically. Anaya slowly nodded and replied, "Okay, good... But then, why do you both look like you're about to jump me?" Leo chuckled slightly at her comment, and Jason responded, without a sigh, "My dad made us scrub the ballroom floor when he found out that we were not in
