Chapter 218

When Elijah stepped out of his room, he met relative silence.

His brain took a few seconds to do the math.

Tobias was at work, the nurse had to be with his mother, then there was Snow.

Nah.

He shook his head and stepped forward. There was no point worrying about Snow. He knew how to take care of himself.

His eyes went to the big clock on the wall, and he discovered it was almost noon.

“Shit,” he muttered under his breath.

He had spent the whole of his morning drawing a plan. He wasn't sure why he bothered because nothing went according to plan. But he did anyway.

His gaze darted out the window, and through the little hole the blinds had created, he saw a hint of the truck. His memory was juggled, and he knew he had to return it.

Returning to his room, he grabbed his phone and his wallet.

On his way out, he stumbled on Snow strolling leisurely out of nowhere.

“Hey man, you're finally up.”

He rolled his eyes and ignored him.
