Chapter 22
"What are you doing Rhonda?" Elijah asked when they were alone in the balcony.

"What do you mean?" She countered with a question of her own.

"You know damn well what I mean Rhonda. Why are you pretending we're not divorced?" But as he asked this question, a part of him longed for a positive answer. A glimpse of hope for them, in what had been too quick a decision.

"Because I've not signed the paper." She said, and he felt a knot in his chest loosening.

New hope was formed. The probability that they could get back together became much more positive. "Why?" He wasted not time to ask.

"I don't know either. All I know is that I was too busy to sign it. When I eventually found the paper just laying on my desk at work, I became a little hesitant." She confessed.

"Does this mean something?"

"I don't know either."
