How Strong? How Much Power?

Arthur charged again, this time his speed was more than a little bit faster than before. A smile appears on his face as he suddenly yeeted himself directly at the Lionake, his sword gripped tightly.

"Die!"

Arthur spun himself mid air, using his strength to drag his sword to follow his momentum. His whole body exploded with energy as he spun his blade mid-air to attack his enemy.

The Lionake had already regenerated half of his face, and had completely regenerated all wounds it had on it's scales. Arthur deduced that it must be tired, and he could take it down easily.

The Lionake raised it's hands quickly and slashed at Arthur with it's massive claws, it's aura still wild and crazed with rage. Slithering away with it's regeneration nearly complete— it opened it's mouth and roared madly.

Arthur's pupils shrank into needle points as the ripples caused by the sudden paw attack from the Lionake took form into massive claws. It was able to easily teae through the air as it flew to Arthur.

“That? Do you think that will stop me? I'll put you down here!” Arthur roared as he watched himself spin into the ripples ahead without even bothering to stop. No more mistakes! He can't make any more mistakes!

'I finish it here… No matter what! No one gets to die here, no one wastes their life for my selfish goal!' Arthur roared as his body transformed, becoming a wild torpedo as he spun ahead.

"Damn it!" Aaron cursed as he tightened his grip around his daggers, "We should take this chance and escape immediately!"

"Stop thinking with your lower half moron. It has a very fast speed, and it would be able to bring us down." Felicia lowered her bow as she took a step back and began to regain composure, "All of us will die here if the Lionake is not destroyed."

Suddenly, Felicia raised her bow and released a wild torrent of arrows at the Lionake. The arrows turned into blinding beams of light as they shot through the Lionake, blasting apart it's scales.

Felicia kept firing arrows like a war machine, not stopping to rest even for a second. The waves of arrows tore through the Lionake, leaving various deep wounds all over it's body.

Arthur roared as the ripples tore across his body ruthlessly, leaving numerous thick gashes all over his skin. His injuries bled uncontrollably, but he did not dare halt his advance - instead, he picked pace and spun even faster.

The stunned Lionake was unable to see, and was still struggling to regenerate the wounds Felicia leaves on it. Being blind and stressed at the same time, it was unable to defend itself in time.

Arthur turned into a whirlwind of light as he tore through the Lionake, ripping through bones and flesh as he split the Lionake in two perfect halves.

Arthur didn't stop there. He turned into a blur as he launched another assualt on the split halves of the Lionake. He didn't even blink as he tore apart the halves completely with his blade.

As soon as he was done, the Lionake fell apart in a delayed explosion of blood and mutilated flesh that sprayed all over the cave walls and Arthur's body. Everyone who watched were stunned.

"Monster." Aaron muttered in shock as he stared at Arthur. His hands were trembling slightly, and he noticed it. Aaron didn't believe they could have survived something like that… He was stumped.

Arthur — soaked in the blood of his kill, and ridden with wounds — seemed to have become true a demon lord of hell in the eyes of all the others. Although he was completely drained.

"Heh." He muttered to himself as he staggered away from the dead Lionake. He had broken his arm in his display earlier, and winched anytime he accidentally moved it - even slightly.

"Unlike before — I didn't let anyone die when I am unable to do something. Heh, I feel so stupid now. Of course things are going to change now."

Arthur smirked.

"I'm not the naive hero of the past. Although I'm still as weak as a broomstick compared to the others — I am definitely not as stupid as they are."

The others he referred to was the dragons of his clan — his extended family from his father's side, and the entire village of void dragon candidates in general. He believed he could change things now. He could make a difference.

"Are you okay Arthur?" Lilith asked as she ran over to assist Arthur with her brows knitted, "I will try my best to heal you. But the expedition would be delayed by another hour or two."

"I know — cough! It's my act of foolish bravado that got us in this situation." Arthur forced a smile as he felt his broken ribs rubbed against each other, leaving him unable to cry or shout.

"Well, you should sit down and let me take care of you. Try to get some rest while I'm at it, you don't seem to be in the best shape for any more battles,"

Lilith smirked as she helped Arthur to a wall, and watched him sit down hesitantly. She bent down and casted a simple [Healing] buff on him, before opening her mouth to speak again,

"When we're done with all the battling and stuff, I guess we could go out and eat together sometime. That is, if we are all okay with a short camping trip that doesn't involve getting ourselves killed."

Arthur forced a smile, then chuckled dryly before letting out a dry coughing fit. He felt a bit strange in this scene. He had never actually gone out with them before in his past life, since they died here.

In the past, he mourned their death like an idiot for months. Why? It was something he could have actually averted, and just a single moment of that demonic blankness - cost him their lives.

Of course, they would have become a fierce thorn in his backside in the past, and they would have ended him long before those skeletons. Although, he actually doesn't know if it's the case.

Arthur lifted his hands to his face. He stared at it deeply, watching as it healed slowly under the green radiance he sat under. He was completely silent and motionless.

‘Why should I bother about these issues at this time? I should…’

His eyelids grew heavy, and so did his hands. He was getting tired and weak, so without giving it much thought, he lowered his hands as his eyes began to shut slowly. All his muscles loosened at that moment, and his consciousness faded away.

‘…rest.’

——

‘It should've been minutes now…’

Arthur's eyelids twitched as his consciousness slowly awakens to a vast darkness. He was just about to open his eyes when the darkness was banished by an outburst of blue light.

[Beep Beep!]

'Eh?' Arthur thought to himself as he focused all of his mental energy on that screen. As soon as he had done that, he blinked

"What now?" Arthur muttered out loud with his hand supporting his head as he struggled to get up from where he sat on. As soon as he stood up straight, his eyes began to focus.

The others seemed to be fighting the wandering lionakes who must have detected the party just a few minutes after he had fallen alseep.

The lionakes were shorter - reaching just five to six feet tall - and obviously weaker than the guard with their pathetic defence and so-so offence.

They were barely able to scratch the coordinated efforts of the elite group, and were easily taken by the team with just an average amount of effort.

"Huh? Drake is close to levelling up?" Arthur tilted his head over as he blinked twice out of shock, "Just how many of these fodder did he destroy to gain that much XP?"

Watching them silently from afar, he decided not to interfere. Arthur simply walked to a corner and began to practice his swords skills, hoping to gain even a single level up for any one of his skills.

"Heh." Arthur sighed and he shook his head, then loosened up hisbody as he brandished his sword dexterously. He wasn't stupid, and not blinded by his greed or lust for battle.

If they continue with their current strength, they would be wiper out by the boss. If they aren't very careful, leaving this place alive with their current strength would be very difficult.

Well, unless they don't want to advance pass the gates and further into the dungeon. These kind of high level dungeons can be very rewarding, but also very dangerous. Especially for the students.

"Haha! It's been a very long time since I had this feeling!" Arthur stopped swinging his sword, and grabbed his chest. His heart was beating strongly, as if it would burst out any second.

"If the Lionake Guard had grown this powerful in such a short time, how powerful would the boss have grown?"
