Lorenzo moves close to touch his sister and the security man launched at him and yanked his hand off real quick.
“What do you think you are doing? Why are you touching my madam with your filthy hands?” Roberto yelled, making Lorenzo stagger.
“Roberto!” Leonora called in a thick Italian accent and glared at him. “Get your hands off him. He is my brother, your master.” She broke Lorenzo’s identity to him.
Roberto fell to his knees in front of them. “I am sorry, young master, my lady. I thought he was joking.” He faced Leonora. “I am so sorry for my insolence. Please forgive me.”
“Tch tch.” Leonora clicked her teeth. “Do your work right and never let this repeat itself,” She then faced Mr. Giovanni and cleared her throat before taking Lorenzo inside.
Lorenzo marveled at the interior of the house and faced his sister. “Nora, what is this place?”
Leonora smiled at her brother, she was happy that he called her by the name he always addressed her with when they were little.
“This is our palace brother, one of the smallest properties we own.” She said with pride on her face.
He continued to look around the house.
“If this is one of the smallest properties, what are the rest like?” he asked himself.
“Shall I show you your room first? Father is busy at the moment. He will come and speak with you when he is done.” Leonora said with a smile on her face.
“Okay.” he agreed with his sister and she led him to his room.
“I really missed you, brother, even Father missed you.”
“I also missed you, Nora, but how are you living in a fine state with our father and I have been suffering all my life?” He asked curiously, at that time they had gotten to his room.
Leonora opened the door to his room for him, “Father will explain to you when he comes to see you, please rest up brother, I will ask the maids to come and inquire what you need to eat so they can make it for you.”
“We can speak some more. I am not hungry,” Lorenzo told his sister.
“I need to attend to some of the family’s affairs, I shall come to speak to you when you are done with father. Please eat and get some rest because it might take a while.” She said before turning on her heels.
Lorenzo watched his sister disappear down the corridor and he closed the door to the room. He laid down on the bed and the softness of the bed engulfed him. He soon fell asleep.
After some time he heard a knock on his door. He woke up and a maid was at the door. “Hello, young master.” She greeted him with respect.
Lorenzo’s mouth watered at the snack she was holding. He swallowed hard before replying. “Hi”
“Lady Leonora asked me to bring you some snacks, may I come in, sir?” She asked in a sweet voice.
“Yes.” Lorenzo agreed. His sister had sent his favorite snack to him.
The maid set the table where he was going to eat the snack and she handed him a menu and a pen. “Young master, please tick all the food you are craving at the moment and we shall prepare them for you.”
He dropped the menu on the table and faced the maid. “I am fine with the snack.”
She fell on her knees real quick. “I am sorry if I have angered you with my actions, Young master. Please choose what you can eat.”
“Please stand up, I am okay with the snack and I do not wish to eat anything else.” He said gently to her.
“Lady Leonora will fire me if you don’t eat, please find it in your heart to forgive me if I have offended you in any way and pick what you want sir.:”
“Fine.” Lorenzo agreed because he didn’t want the poor maid to get fired because he wasn’t hungry, so he opened the menu and ticked what he wanted to eat.
“Thank you, sir.” She beamed a bright smile at him.
Lorenzo was proud that he had made her smile.
“There are fresh clothes in the closet if you wish to change your clothes and Master would join you for dinner.” She informed him. “Please let me know if you need anything sir,”
“I need nothing.”
“Please click that bell, if you need me to show up sir,” She pointed at the bell by his bedside. “I will leave now.”
Lorenzo said nothing, and he focused on his snacks, he munched on it hungrily. After he was done with his snack, he stripped and entered the bathroom to take a shower.
He saw some ointment in one of the huge shelves above the washing hand basin in the bathroom. He applied them to his wound and used a jelly-like pain reliever he found there too.
He opened the first wardrobe to see expensive clothes he could never afford. He opened the next one, and he saw so many shoes in there. The last wardrobe contained underwear, a tray of gold and silver wristwatches, and so many colors of tie.
He picked out the clothes he thought were the least expensive and wore them. He then steeled in front of the computer that was in the room. He searched the internet about his family and how massive they were.
He heard a knock on the door.
“Come in,” He answered the knock, and some men came into his room and set up a huge table.
“What’s going on?” He asked them, but they only bowed to him and they left the room.
Some maid came in with different food according to how he had chosen earlier and they left after they set the table.
The maid that served him snacks remained in the room with him. “Your sister, Lady Leonora, assigned me to be your personal maid sir, It is my pleasure to serve you.”
Lorenzo nodded in confusion.
“Master will join us soon,” She informed him, just then the door to the room opened and his Father came in.
“Father,” Lorenzo called immediately after he saw his father. He was a little surprised to see his father in expensive clothes.
His Father moved close to him and gave him a hug. “Lorenzo! How have you been?”
“Good, Father, Please I think I deserve an explanation about all these, Nora said you had the answers to my question.”
Leonardo Rossi signaled to the maid to leave them.
“I see you still address your sister with that name,” Leonardo smiled at his son.
“Yes, Father, you and Nora were always in my heart, but I don’t think I was in your heart. I was out there suffering, not knowing that my family had some crazy riches.”
“We were following the protocols set down by our forefathers, it is a kind of test every heir has to go through in the Rossi’ family. Every heir has to go through tough times to be strong enough to lead the family.”
“Are you saying you faced the same thing?” He asked his father.
“Yes, your grandfather too and that is how it has always been.”
