CHAPTER 118. Storm

Nichola tapped his feet on the wood tiled ground, staring out of the window at the pouring rain.

"You sure you'd be able to leave today?", Mia asked calmly, sipping a cup of water and scrolling through her phone.

Nichola barely spared her a glance and just kept staring hard at the intensifying downpour.

"You know, a proper thank you would be appreciated for my helping you stand against those pesty in-laws of yours"

The rain that had started as a drizzle was quickly becoming a storm. Nichola wished it would just pass as soon as it had come so he would not have to be stuck here with Mia.

"Nichola," she called, resting a palm softly on his arm to draw his attention. "Why do you have to go through all this? Why do you not want what you deserve and keep chasing what doesn't deserve you?"

Her arms moved slowly up his arm, causing him to stiffen in irritation. He grabbed her hand and pushed it away from him.

"Don't put your hands on me, Mia. I'm not exactly patient now, "
