CHAPTER FIVE

BRAK!

The VVIP room door of a nightclub was opened by Max's foot kick. His arrival startled Zaco, Tiffany and the

rest of their partying friends who stopped what they were doing.

"Look who's here... the nouveau riche," Zaco said, sounding more relaxed.

Seeing Zaco talking that casually, Max was furious. Max rushed towards Zaco to give him a punch in the face, but Zaco didn't even move a centimeter from where he was sitting.

"Is this what a man's fist feels like?" Zaco asked. "Bastard! You're the one who hit Irrisia, right!" "What?" Zaco asked innocently.

"Last night in front of Iglechi restaurant! You hit Irrisia with your fancy car! You wanted to kill her, huh? You see what you're doing now! You made Irrisia never walk again!"

Max's statement took the whole room by surprise, as did Zaco who immediately regained his calm and smiled casually.

"You come in and break the door, punch me in the face and then accuse me of criminal action... honestly this is enough to sue you."

"You should be sued in court!"

Zaco raised one eyebrow and stood up, walking over to Max and punching him so hard in the face that he fell onto the sofa.

"Who says I'm going to sue you in court when I have my own laws?" Zaco grabbed Max by the collar, then punched Max repeatedly like he did in the gym.

"You thought I'd be happy with your illogical actions! You bastard! You ruined this happy day! You're trash that should be burned to the ground until there's nothing left!"

This time there really wasn't anyone who was going to help Max, even they were holding back their laughter as Max was overwhelmed by Zaco's punches that eventually left him lying limp on the floor of the room.

Zaco sighed, then kicked Max in the stomach until he spewed water from his mouth. "Ew," Tiffany said, with no intention of helping.

"I'll give you some advice, young man. Being rich isn't enough to touch the ends of my hair. You understand who I am and who you are, right? I'm the great sky and you're just trash in the mud. How many tens of millions of light-years do you think it would take to touch me?" said Zaco in a proud and condescending tone.

"And as for that arrogant woman, I hope you break the news slowly. You brought such sad news in front of Tiffany and my friends, look at them, they are so shocked and unprepared for the tragic news," Zaco said, making Max look at their faces one by one and there was no expression of shock at all.

"Oh my God, can she really never walk again?" asked Madison, Tiffany's friend and Paranova's number one female bully. "Then are her legs cut off? They're useless now, right? You see, my grandfather who was a gardener once said that he often cut off the branches of his own garden because they had no use. She would still look like a human, though, even if her legs weren't there. Just like my grandfather's tree, which is still called a tree even if the branches are gone, haha!"

"HAHAHA!"

The sound of laughter grew louder while Max cried in helplessness. He wanted to stand up and punch Zaco in the face, but his energy was already spent crying, screaming and defending against the burly man's attacks.

Zaco squatted in front of Max and hit him once on the head. "Next time, come politely and reflect the nobility in you-well, even if it's just a product of your imagination, because even the tiniest ant knows that you're an orphan!"

"Haha, an orphan! What a pity."

"It must be hard to survive without parents. What a cruel world, kid?"

Zaco laughed mockingly and said again. "And as for your accusation... you should rethink it. Did you deserve to do that to me? Was it appropriate? Or... were you the source of the problem all along?" Zaco asked, looking like he was going to stomp on Max's face in his next move. "Irrisia became like that not because of me, but because of your relationship with her. You should realize that you're a source of disease, a source of trouble for everyone. Being rich won't make you instantly clean and noble. You need millions of light years to be able to wash away all the stains on your body."

Zaco looked like he was about to leave, but he stopped and said, "Or do you want to use a car wash? Haha. My uncle is the owner of the world's largest car wash."

After saying that, Zaco left with his friends. But before he closed the door, he smiled secretly at Max, as if confirming that that night, he was the one who hit Irrisia.

Max wasn't wrong, but when the culprit was in front of his eyes, he couldn't do anything about it. The feeling got worse and made Max scream in frustration along with the loud music.

***

Max woke up after a night in the VVIP room of the nightclub. His head was dizzy and he remembered what happened, making him feel worse and he just sat there hopelessly.

"Did I really jinx it? Irrisia became like that because of me. If only I hadn't asked her to team up " Max

looked down, not eager to see the sunlight.

Irrisia was still in a coma, but when she woke up, how would Max talk to her? How would Max apologize to her?

"I can't even catch the person who did that to her. I'm still a weakling to the end," Max said, holding back tears of despair. "I also failed the mission. Now I'm going to be kicked out of a system I haven't even used to its full potential?"

Max looked at his phone, it was almost noon and he didn't want to get out of there.

"Zaco's right, being rich isn't enough to defeat him. I should just become Superman so I can laser his body and split it into 98 pieces."

Max rubbed his face roughly, then the system screen appeared in front of him again. [Ting!]

[Task successfully completed] [Sending reward to user]

Max was dumbfounded, he immediately opened his cell phone and sure enough-the $3,500,000 had already arrived in his account. That meant he had successfully completed the task. But hadn't he failed to save Irrisia from the incident that night?

Where was the success?

"Because I took Irrisia to the hospital, does that count as saving her from harm?" asked Max, not understanding. "Either way, I shouldn't have been kicked out of the system, right? I still have a chance to make a lot of money."

Speaking of money, Max remembered revenge. He clenched his fists and was determined.

"Alright, I still believe that money can do everything, I just need to be a little smarter in using it. If I can, I'll beat Zaco," Max said. "Irrisia, I'll make a lot of money, I'll be strong and get revenge!" Unlike a few minutes ago, Max now seemed excited.

Then his cell phone buzzed. "Hello?"

" "

"IRRISIA!?"
