8 Sandra's Astonishment

Feeling Leonardo's gaze from behind, Antonio didn't bother to face him before he murmured, ''You can proceed.''

Leonardo and the other two let out sighs of relief, their muscles relaxing.

They knew too well how stubborn this young man could be, and even though he had agreed on the phone… he was with the Chairman.

He could, at any time, back out from the arrangement, or even force them to do something out of their wills, and that meant embracing death in full arms should the Chairman catch wind of it.

Glaring at Sandra, Leonardo brought out a golden card with dark intricate designs at the edges.

''Chairman said to give you this.' Leonardo tilted his head, bowing a bit as he handed over the card to Antonio.

Richard, the second bodyguard who stood right behind Antonio, went forward.

''I'll watch over him, and make sure everything goes smoothly,'' Richard muttered, his husky voice reverberating in Sandra's ears.

From the beginning to this point, her heart kept pounding against her chest as cold sweat drenched her back, staining her gown.

She couldn't help but wonder if she was daydreaming, or perhaps she had been placed under some hypnotism of some sort.

Wasn't Antonio supposed to be a poor, pitiful young man who could no longer afford the hospital bills?

His brother was in the VIP unit at the beginning, a unit where money was burnt fervently without regard.

However, after a while, he was transferred to the regular ward since they could no longer afford the bills there, and just yesterday, he was further transferred from the regular ward to the general ward.

In her mind, she felt that everything should have ended in sorrow for the two siblings, one dying and the other becoming miserable.

'Lord, even the bills for the multiple surgeries can make a tycoon feel the pinch.' Sandra drew in a cold breath, as she felt her throat tighten.

''Now move him to the right unit,'' Leonardo commanded, his voice sounding firm.

Sandra didn't know when she sprang from the midst of these suffocating men as she rushed to call those who would take Michele to the VIP building.

Seeing that they were finally left alone, Leonardo went close to Antonio, leaning in until they were a breath away.

''Young lord, just give the order, even though we're not affiliated with this hospital, it's actually nothing to hijack it and deal with those ugly bastards.'' Leonardo gnashed his teeth, a vein almost popping out of his neck.

Antonio's body twitched, noticing the slight change in the way Leonardo addressed him, but he didn't comment on it.

Instead, his lips curled up, as his listless eyes revealed a dark, ominous smile.

''If you think I need this suggestion before I take action, then you really are dumb, Leo,'' Antonio replied, his tone flat.

Leonard's lips parted, but no word left his mouth, and one could see his puzzled expression from his creased forehead.

''You're just like I remember, impulsive, irascible, and not so smart.'' Antonio clicked his tongue.

''Now I'm beginning to wonder why that old man hasn't buried you alive yet, knowing his temperament, he-he.'' Antonio giggled, his eyes piercing into Leonardo's.

Leonardo, hearing the last statement, felt chills run down his spine and he subconsciously trembled as though tiny electric worms were coursing through his veins.

In his mind, he was like… t-this young man didn't look as simple as he made himself look in any way.

'Well, considering their ties, this much should be expected.' Leonardo thought.

Tyler, the third bodyguard, had only heard of Antonio from others, and he didn't know him as much as the other two did since he joined them not too long ago.

Hence, without thinking much about it, he blurted out, ''But sir he's only trying to suggest something of benefit to you, those retards deserve to be punished.''

The atmosphere straight away became stiff as Leonardo and Richard froze at the spot.

The former felt horrified from the bottom of his mind, as he felt his heart jolt as though a venomous thunderbolt had struck him.

''Oh?'' Antonio was also taken aback, which made him shift his head to the left in Tyler's direction.

''Y-young lord…'' Alex stuttered. ''He's a newbie.''

That was all he said, scared that saying too much would mean an unforeseen death in the most logical and bizarre manner.

'Obviously, I can tell that much.' Antonio thought to himself.

Since the moment they came, he had been quite surprised, seeing the not-so-familiar face of Tyler.

However, knowing how much manpower that old man could muster, he didn't think much about it.

And now, Tyler's reply had given it out that he was an absolute newcomer.

Any old bodyguard with a lot of experience would have been tamed by now, after all, which man wouldn't quiver when you heard that a light punishment might go as far as getting rid of your parents or children?

Hence, everyone knew how to behave when it came to the affairs of their organization, the Chairman most especially.

Finding it amusing, Antonio nodded tersely, not dragging the matter.

Leonard glared at Tyler for his unsolicited explanation, and he had already cursed his entire generation.

'Who asked for your opinion, Sir adviser?' Leonardo frowned inwardly, regretting why they brought this unfortunate fellow here.

Just one word from the gentleman before him, and he would be doomed to damnation.

Fortunately, he knew Antonio to some extent. Hence, he could only pray that this young man was still the same person he knew him to be.

A few minutes later, all of them turned their heads as they heard footsteps approaching.

Two young men in maroon tops and pants walked towards Antonio and company, and the one at the front with sleek back blonde hair asked in a warm tone.

''I heard that we have a VIP patient, sir.'' His smile looked professional and comforting as though he had done this for ages.

''Yes,'' Leonardo replied. ''And lead us to where to pay the bills.''

Just as the youth with blonde hair was about to reply, he saw Antonio shift his gaze to the entrance with a grim expression.
