The businessman with huge hope muttered to the guards.
“There was a black-dressed boy, he -” as the guards intercepted him “Silence!”
The guards were heavily armored and prepared to fight. The one who seemed to be the leader of this patrol walked towards the girl. While taking a few heavy steps towards the pray, he took a second to notice the businessman full of jewelry and expensive clothes.
“Th… the… the man with the robe tried to rape me!” she said in tears.
Andrey hiding underneath could hear this. Smart girl! He thought as he smiled slightly.
“What!? I would never! I came to get my money from her!” the businessman said and continued “there was a boy who came here and beat us down…”, but the noble guard fell to his knees and looked at the wounds the girl had received and the fact her dress was slightly torn was enough evidence.
“Shut up!” the guard yelled and made a few signs with his hands. The other two representatives of the law and order understood the order and quickly restrained the businessman.
“So you think you have money and you can do whatever you want?” one of the guards mumbled to the rich guy.
They began walking him out of the bakery. With all possible impudence, he tried bribing the guards.
The leader took the girl’s hand and comforted by holding it. “Do not worry, he will be taken care of. Are you okay?” He asked and added, “Excuse my bad manners, I am Lances Praid.”
Lances was very tall and muscular. He made the girl feel safer and calmer just by being there. His handsome face and deep voice made him so famous among the ladies, and all the more respected by his fellow colleagues and friends. He was definitely fit in his position as a squad leader. Perhaps his fighting potential was huge, too.
Andrey still felt under pressure standing bellow their feet. A man sent by the king to escort an extremely rich person to a given location just got in a fist-fight with a… rich man. Oh no! he panicked as he realized that this very man might have been his target to escort. Am I gonna become a chased criminal now? I sure hope the girl’s lie will workout and I will be able to just go out as free from this bakery as I went in. He thought to himself.
“I will give you two options. One is to come with me and stay under protection for a short period of time, just for your safety. And the other o-” Lances spoke as the girl intercepted him.
“No-no-no-no! Please, I just want to get to work!” the girl cleared out her tears as she got on her feet.
“But - “
“No need to worry about me! I just really have to get to work! I will lose clients and money if anyone finds out about this commotion!” the girl demanded.
“I guess you have a point here. But please, be careful! I will have somebody patrol around for a while just to make sure that everything’s alright. It’s the least I can do!” the tall man demanded with a worried voice.
“That much is okay! Thank you! “ the girl bowed in gratitude.
“What’s your name?” Lances asked just before walking out the door.
“Yunie!” the girl replied joyfully.
“Yunie what?”
“Yunie Young!” she replied as she pointed up with her hand.
Lances didn’t understand what she pointed at, but smiled and walked out. The two big guys were long gone by then as the other guards carried them out while this sweet conversation happened.
The great guard already had walked some distance but turned around just to check in on the place one more time. Furthermore, he finally understood what she pointed at. Above the bakery entrance was a big red signboard with white letters saying “The Young Bakery”. He smiled and clenched his thumb wishing her luck with the business.
Now that everybody had disappeared and a few minutes had passed, Yunie invited Andrey to get back up from the storage-place. “Come out, it’s clear now!” she said in a normal voice. Actually it wasn’t really that normal as she had a very high pitched voice and sounded as though she’s always happy.
The black-dressed boy came out and explored his surroundings with a quick look around. He was covered in flour and tried knocking it off-him. “I guess I turned from black to white.” the boy joked.
Yunie laughed a bit and assisted in knocking off the flour from him. “I’m really thankful!” she said in a cheerful voice.
He stopped moving and looked her straight in the eyes. “Are you really okay?”
“I’m fine, thanks.”
“This is not the first time?”
“No, it’s not.”
“Does this business really sell?”
“Yes. It’s true that I had a harsh few first months, but it finally started paying back to me!”
“Maybe he was discouraged that you lied about the money. This still doesn’t give him right to act that way!” he clenched his fist.
“...Thank you once more for protecting me!” the girl bowed in gratitude.
Andrey said nothing and just explored her looks. She was obviously from a distant land. Her face features differed from the other people around. She had straight long pure black hair. She had a small body. Shorter than Andrey, but not by much.
“Do you by chance know Earth?” he asked.
“Where did this come from? I don’t do agriculture, I am only good at baking, honestly…”
“I…” Andrey said as he eye-rolled her again.
“Are YOU feeling okay?” she asked in concern with slight confusion.
“I just thought you might be from lands I know. Where are you from?” Andrey lowered his head in slight disappointment.
“I am from Yumevil, and you?” the girl asked in a happy voice.
Andrey looked at her eyes and went to his bag and took out the map. A few seconds of silence filled the place as he sat down and rummaged through his back causing an unnatural amount of noise for such a small bag. “Tsk. Where is it?” Andrey mumbled under his nose.
Finally, he took out the map from a book he had hit it in. It was better this way as it won’t look like scrap paper when he looked at it next time.
She sat down next to him as he was looking at the map from top-down searching for Yumevil.
She looked at how fast his eyes were moving in search of the place and just put a gentle hand on his shoulder next to Dea. Dea quickly moved her head in surprise. The girl looked at Andrey’s face as their eyes met. Then she looked at the map and pointed somewhere near the middle of the map and said “Here, silly.”
It was right underneath The Wild Deserts Of Wartair.
“How did you come from all the way there?” Andrey was surprised when he saw the great distance.
“This is the capital. I was sent by my family here to find a better life. They didn’t want me to be just another girl who does agriculture…” a few seconds pause and she confessed, “As they saw I’m really bad at it.”
“But you are good at baking, right?” Andrey laughed shortly.
“I guess I am!” she replied with a happy face and asked again “You didn’t tell me where you’re from.”
Andrey looked at her beautiful black eyes and thought for a second. He didn’t really know what to reply, but he took a moment to close his eyes in an attempt to see the right answer. Instead, he saw the clock. It was 06:30. He was late.
“I’m sorry! Please stay safe I have to go!” He quickly put the map back into his bag, tied it, and rushed out of the bakery.
“But, tell me your name!” she yelled
“Andrey Makiya!” he yelled back as he ran out the door.
Crap! I’m late. It’s time to find out the truth. Either I’m in trouble, or I’m in big trouble. The first case is that I’m just simply late. But if it’s the second case… I beat up the businessman I am supposed to protect!
Andrey could see the huge Shrine but there were lots of people and he couldn’t see if there’s anybody standing in front of the entrance.
He gently pushed people in the crowd and apologized all the time.
The moment of truth had come. As he was running through the crowd he finally saw the entrance to the Shrine and the person standing in front of it put him in shock...
The man standing in front of the shrine was really old. He wasn’t expensively dressed as Andrey expected. His face was covered in wrinkles. He was about a meter and sixty in height and a-top-of-that he was hunched over, making him look even shorter. The giant mole on his forehead made it hard to keep eye contact. He deeply reminded Andrey of the monks on Earth. Orange kimono and orange sandals. He had only one accessory and it was some small wooden form tied to a simple rope on his neck.“I am really sorry for being late!” Andrey quickly apologized in a rush. “It’s okay, young one.” the merchant replied with a high pitched voice. Andrey felt some familiar tone to his voice. It genuinely reminded him of the Father at the church he grew. Of course, they looked nothing alike, but this old dried out from talking voice was truly something you remember easily. “Polkas Reven, right?” Andrey asked just to confirm. He was certain that this was the person, but still, he was known to trade wit
“And what would the name of this little black-good-for-obvious-nothing pretending to be high-and-mighty sent by the great King Goodlie to do what he’s best at-nothing?” Galera continued to try to insult Andrey.“Now, now… well... whatever.” the old geezer tried to stop them from fighting, but in the end just gave up.One of the shady figures behind there stood a bit to the side. Andrey didn’t manage to focus on each individual enough, therefore he failed to notice that it appeared to be a woman. Not any woman, actually. “Andrey Makiya. From Earth.” the boy replied to his challenger.“Earth?” a visible confusion was on everyone’s face. One of the voices chuckled, it was exactly the woman. Only then did Andrey notice there was a female amongst them. “Dea’n’ha, may I know what’s so funny?” Galera turned to the female.“Galera, you shouldn’t mess with the boy. Don’t get us all in trouble!” she warned and walked towards Andrey lowering her hoodie. She stood by him and caught him by the ha
“What is this? Oh, it’s the ground.”“Wait… no”“I’m stepping on the sky?”“Wait, wait… no.” Andrey spoke silently.“This is… I know this place.”As Andrey realized where he was a large twenty five-floor building just crashed into the ground right in front of him. The huge noise as if an explosion was deafening.Andrey floated back from the building as the dust suddenly disappeared and he could see this empty building which now looked like a complete mess.A few seconds later complete silence filled the space. Andrey finally realized this is the world he had fallen in when he was away from the Makiya blades.“Did I possibly lose the blades along the road? Did I drop them ?! Seriously?!” he angered, quickly trying to touch his back with his hands to see if the black arms were there. But they weren’t.Calmness was expressed with a deep sigh. Andrey looked around in question. Why did this building just crash in front of him?Why is he actually floating mid-air?Suddenly after realizing
As the dawn of day had begun, if it were the Earth, the sun would be standing somewhere right above the ocean waters which were seen from the road. The road was going slightly downhill, therefore the village, the fields, and the ocean were all visible. The village was huge. The amount of houses visible filled the horizon. The truth behind all this beauty was also laying in the fact that this world hardly had any pollution. Andrey was staring at the huge city-like village before him. It was very organized. The streets were visible, the houses all aligned nicely. The small amount of randomness to the buildings’ alignment to the road only added more beauty to the village. All around the village large growing fields decorated with their different colors, attained by the different types of plants being raised.Although there was no sun to go down the ocean still looked amazing under the dimmed blue light Philius shined. Their sunset wasn’t nearly as beautiful and varicolored, but it still
Dea’n’ha released the wind spell which was moving the cart until now. A slight breeze came from the cart but quickly vanished. This was the concentrated mana dispersing. The warehouse was kind of huge, but also surprisingly empty. As if it was cleaned through especially for this delivery. Which most probably indeed was the case. The walls were made of concrete bricks, tall about three meters. The depth of the building was about ten meters. It was just about enough for all this gold to be unloaded. Dea’n’ha didn’t park the cart inside, but right in front of the warehouse. Usually, Andrey would be surprised at why she did such a stupid thing as it would be easier to unload it if it were parked inside, but now that he knew magic exists and you can manipulate it easily, he didn’t get deceived.“Okay, so how do you propose we do this?” Dea’n’ha asked, jumping off the cart and walking next to Andrey.“Hmm… I thought you would be giving the plans and orders?” RIsing an eyebrow, Andrey looked
A sudden strong gust of multiple blue colored horizontal lines in front of the tree charged through the trees.Andrey standing there with his arm still in the air and not moving an inch, waiting in anticipation of the results from his attempt at advanced mana control.“Oh, come on…” Dea’n’ha sighed. The boy didn’t reply as his cloak recovered its position from the blowing of the wind. Still not moving nor reacting to Dea’n’ha’s disappointed, yet friendly and cute expression. The girl moved her hands around controlling the wind that was holding on to the tree.As she moved the trees around Andrey burst in joyful laughter from the results he saw. The tree-logs had been perfectly cut down and Dea’n’ha was arranging them one over the other and placed them on the ground.“Why the disappointment, though? I think I did great!” Andrey questioned his success.“You actually did amazing! But…”“But what?”“Well…”“Yeeees???” Andrey asked with a little bit of impatience as he walked closer to her
Her gorgeous chestnut hair had a few locks falling in front of her face. Her slightly blushing cheeks gave her a really innocent look that was very rare for a woman her age. She was 34 and her beauty had completely flourished. Probably had an arranged marriage or was single because she doesn’t have time for relationships. That’s at least what Andrey thought judging by her position and wealth.“Okay, what is it?” Andrey asked with a small dose of uncertainty slightly blushing himself.“One of the things is your payment. I have been going individually into everyone’s rooms to hand it out. Here’s yours.” She explained and out of nowhere suddenly pulled out a small bag of gold.“Woah! I didn’t know I’m actually even getting paid!” Andrey exclaimed in surprise. He suddenly cleared his line of thoughts completely forgetting about the second thing she was there for. “I don’t really know how much it is, though?”“It’s a hundred gold.” Anita said confidently with a small smirk on her face.“No,
Can’t a man take a single moment of rest? I can’t believe that I am actually even getting slightly annoyed by all the events happening. Who is it this time? And how am I supposed to get out and talk to him or her butt-naked? Seriously…Andrey indeed wondered who it might be. Maybe Dea’n’ha came in to talk about more magic or something? But she probably would have talked to me through Dea. It’s someone else. Wait. There are more than one person’s footsteps. In the end, nothing extraordinary happened. After all this tension, nobody entered the bath or talked to him. So he finished bathing, put on his bathrobe, took the blades in his hand, and went out.Taking a look around - nobody was to be seen. The door was still slightly opened, though. He walked on forward as Galera stood right behind the steamy glass-door. A perfectly wide smile on his face in excitement.Walking towards the bed Andrey noticed the bed wasn’t as tightly made as it used to be.Nobody acts when they are not sure what
“Immortal douche, my ass.” Amryr’s voice sounded behind the cracking noise.Andrey could see only darkness after the shattered mirror-like world of Golehanei’s game, his young student being his light in the confusing, lightless tunnel.Inhaling deeply, Andrey opened his eyes. The sight of the ancient being rotting right in front of him was the answer to the many questions that had just arisen. A black-and-white splash of energy cracked open the shell just seconds after Lord Red Eye’s awakening.“Amryr…” Andrey whispered. The loyal follower’s contrasting mana widened, making a splash, completely opening half of the shell.“Well, what can I say? The shell grew a lot from the moment that Golehanei noticed we had an ace up our sleeve.” Onyx smiled.Andrey’s eyes wandered from person to person, landing lastly on Dea’n’ha.“I see. Your eye technique. But… what happened?” Just as he spoke, a strange tingle in his right palm pulled his gaze. “The Abyssal Crack Magic… It resonated…” As he obs
Oh, great! If I get his characters killed before mine die, then I’ll be the obvious winner, won’t I? Does this mean that I won’t die even if my Main Character dies? If I win first, then the game is over, right? The Thief Class struggled as his neck cracked multiple times due to the twist he did on his own. The opposing Knight Class screamed in an angry tone, “This is a living abomination! Die!” Seeing how The Thief Class’ body wouldn’t let go of the mighty sword, punches started raining on his face. The armored gloves dealt a lot of damage to the poor Thief Class, but it didn’t really matter. He had no mind left to notify him of the pain. All he had was one thing - desire to kill.
“Let me see how you fare now. This one can’t be decided on sheer luck, descendant. May the fun and games… continue…” The ancient spoke, as a voice coming from nobody knows where announced, “Round Two.” A dialogue box appeared before Andrey. Yeah, like hell, this one’s gonna take you down even the better. “Round Two. For this round you may pick only two cards. Mage Thief Knight UNAVAILABLE CARDS: Demon Maiden”
// Letters in BOLD are the main character’s telepathy to Andrey//// Letters in ITALIC BOLD are Andrey’s telepathy towards his Main Character/other characters//All of a sudden, The Maiden Class card recovered her senses and took another surprising action.“Oh, my dear! I was sure that you would look after us! I knew you had not forgotten us! All we had to do was believe in you and you would show mercy on our poor souls. The precious and gentle touch of the palm of your hand is called ‘Mercy’ and we experienced it to its finest momentum! May my prayer and wordings of the utmost-fine gratitude reach thee! “The game… begins, challengers.” The start was announced by a mysterious voice and all of a sudden Andrey could see through the eyes of his main character. Interesting. Somehow I am seeing both what she sees and what I see as well. How does the human brain even manage to endure the simultaneous cognition stress? // Letters in BOLD are the main character’s telepathy to Andrey// My Master, what shall I do now? A most seducing and alluring voice resounded within Andrey’s mind. Oh! Is she actually capable of reasonable communication? Impressive. // Letters
Conjured by nothingness in the air, five cards appeared, twice the size of a human. The terrain reshaped and all of a sudden, it appeared that Andrey was standing in a theater. Looking around, he could see many empty seats, but more importantly, the scene was incredibly vast. The things that were easily seen were a well in the middle, a tower next to it, a few chairs along with a wooden table. They seemed rather medieval and old, but that seemed to be the idea behind the whole game. Playing a medieval role in a theatrical scenery. “We already started!? How about you tell me what the game is about first, eh!?” Andrey shouted, his eyebrows narrowed due to his annoyance. Golehanei’s voice replied to him with a cold tone. “Be not so rushful, Andrey Makiya… de
Besides the sound of an incoming wind torrent, Andrey appeared like a black thunder, piercing through the clouds, right after jumping off from the conjured black-and-white tower. After restoring his vision past the clouds, he immediately navigated at the ancient human, who was patiently waiting in his cradle. Swinging just slightly. A massive barrage of a hundred walls of rock erupted from the ground, creating a mighty shielding to protect Golehanei from the incoming battle-mage. The rumbling noise in addition with the ancient being’s impatience slowly arising worked as proof that Andrey had been passing through his defense effortlessly. A sword landed right next to the ancient’s throat. Stopped not by Andrey’s will, but instead by the incredibly precise and strong grip of Golehanei’s finger tips.
Andrey put on a little smile in an attempt to mock the man, who claimed to be greater than them. “Does the superior being deal with conflicts with force or with wisdom? Time we found out, I say.” He expected his taunting words to provoke the being, and at least see an eyebrow get narrowed, but instead Golehanei spoke calmly. “Young Andrey Makiya, when wisdom finds its end, the forces of power take over. Such would seem to be the case, descendant.” A fist coming straight at Andrey’s face was immediately countered as the red-eyed battle-mage deflected the incoming knuckles by punching his opponent’s arm in the triceps with an upper-cut. Although unexpected, suddenly Golehanei forced his arm downwards, overpowering the fist, in an attempt to strike Andrey’s head, as if to slash it with a blade.
“Dea’n’ha!” Andrey startled at the sorceress. “Y-yes!” She replied in a frail voice. “Can you communicate with this golden-dressed freak!?” Dea’n’ha lowered her head and spoke. “I can only convert information with my Abyssal Crack magic… I can’t really drain the language abilities out of it. It’s like attaining something from the void.” “Tsk.” Andrey clicked his tongue and looked at the buffed, half-naked man, who had only black pants, golden belt, and a golden collar that went all the way from his neck to covering half his back and chest. The ancient human had a golden ring on his left pointing finger, and dark brown leather bracelets with gold imbued in them on both his wrists.
