Chapter Fifty-six

Norah and Charles reveled in the warmth of the European sun as they continued their vacation on the island. The waters of the Mediterranean stretched out before them, and the gentle lapping of waves was the sweetest sight. With the memory of Norah’s joyful “yes” to Charles’s proposal still fresh in their minds, they knew this vacation was the start of a new chapter in their lives.

They strolled hand in hand along the sandy shore, their fingers entwined like their hearts. The sun painted a shimmering path on the water, as if nature itself was guiding them toward a bright future together.

Charles looked at Norah with a grin that could melt glaciers. “Can you believe it? We’re engaged!”

Norah’s eyes sparkled with happiness. “I know! I can’t stop smiling.”

They walked a little further until they found a secluded spot beneath the shade of a palm tree. Charles spread out a beach towel, and they settled down, still clutching each other’s hands.
