Chapter Fifty
Norah felt a rush of relief and affection for Charles. “There’s something I need to confess,” she said, her voice trembling slightly.

Charles looked at her with curiosity. “What is it, my love?”

Norah took a deep breath. “I lied about wanting to take some days off to rest. The real reason I needed time off was to dig into all the evidence I have to expose Emma.”

Charles burst into laughter, surprising Norah. She joined in his laughter, the tension in the room dissipating.

Charles wiped a tear from his eye. “I’m amazed at the lengths you’re willing to go to for what you believe in, Norah.”

As their laughter subsided, Charles drew closer to Norah. Their lips met in a tender, passionate kiss, sealing their newfound understanding and trust.

Charles pulled away slightly, his eyes twinkling with a mischievous glint. “How about we go out for dinner tonight? I want to spoil you.”

Norah’s face lit up with a smile. “I’d love that, Charles.”
