Chapter Sixty-Eight

The sun was still bright, but it hung low in the sky, casting yellow light over the backyard of the family mansion where Emma and her family had gathered. Uncle Arnold and the cocky Michael were locked in a fierce battle of golf, their frustrations visible in the air.

“Dammit, Michael! You’ve got to stop cheating,” Arnold exclaimed, his face flushed with frustration as he watched his nephew line up a shot.

Michael chuckled, his hearty laugh echoing through the backyard. “Cheating, uncle? You’ve got to learn to play the game better!” He took a swing and sent the ball sailing through the air.
