Chapter Sixty-three

Norah’s heart pounded as she stood on the beach, her wedding gown now blew around her with the wind. Tears streamed down her cheeks, and in her trembling hands, she clutched the bouquet of flowers that had been intended for her joyful walk down the aisle. The sound of crashing waves, once a soothing noise to the ceremony, now felt like a mocking sound of nature’s emotions.

By her side, Charles, his tuxedo still neat, and Selena, her mouth wide from shock, rushed toward her, followed by concerned guests. But before they could reach her, Norah turned and fled, her wedding gown sweeping the sandy floor behind her.

Back inside the beachfront venue, Norah slammed the door shut, her trembling hands fumbling to lock it. She needed a moment to collect herself, to make sense of the turmoil that had engulfed her special day. The once vibrant room was now seeming dull and so was the wedding decorations that had been carefully arranged.
