“Thalia, you're kidding, right?” Ethan tried to smile even though his heart was beating very fast at the moment. “You came home drunk. You must not be fully sober yet--”

“I'm really going to divorce you, Ethan!” Thalia cut Ethan off without hesitation. She looked at Ethan sharply. It wasn't an ordinary stare, but like someone who hated for a long time.

Ethan frowned. “What did I do to make you say that, Thalia?”

Thalia clicked her tongue. She rolled her eyes, disdaining the question asked by Ethan. “Of course it's because you're useless, Ethan. What else could you be? Your presence here only adds to the burden of the Blake family. With you being so poor and unemployed, do you think I'd be proud to tell people that you're my husband? Think about it with that shallow brain of yours!”

Ethan was confused by this situation. If that was the reason, why hadn't Thalia said so from the start? Ethan wasn't a lazy person who couldn't work. “Thalia, I can work. If that's what you want, I'll do it.”

Thalia glared even more. Her gaze was getting angrier. “You still don't understand. Someone like you doesn't deserve me. Remember, you were able to marry me only because of my stupid grandfather's request. Now that grandfather is dead, of course I can end this marriage at will. Besides, Mr. Edward is better than you.”

Thalia turned to Edward. The man immediately let out a smile with one side of his lips higher. He deliberately glanced at Ethan to mock him.

Sonia smiled and snorted. “You heard what my daughter said, Ethan. You're not her husband anymore.”

Ethan shook his head. He could not accept something like this. This was not news that should be heard at a family party. Moreover, Sonia and the other family members were smiling at this moment.

Ethan took a deep breath. “I can't. I won't divorce you, Thalia.”

Thalia clucked her tongue again. She took out a folder containing divorce papers. Then she threw the folder in front of Ethan. “Sign that! I'm sick of always sharing a room with a loser like you.”

Ethan's brow furrowed. His breathing became heavy. For three years Ethan had thrown away his pride and resigned himself to being treated like a slave. When there was a glimmer of hope to get love from Thalia, he received this cursed letter instead. There was no way Ethan would just give up. Thalia couldn't be out of Ethan's hands.

Ethan steeled himself. “Thalia. I won't do this. You remember what happened that night, right? We did-”

“I've been pregnant since last month, Ethan. And it's Mr. Edward's child.” Thalia cut Ethan off again before he could finish. “I have no reason to continue this stupid ‘husband-wife play’ thing with you. Mr. Edward will be my husband and take care of my child together. After all, Mr. Edward is a man of honorable standing. Unlike a loser like you. Stop whining and sign it!”

Ethan's head was like being struck by lightning. Thalia was already pregnant? And even it wasn't Ethan's child, but the man with the annoying smile? Ethan's mind and heart were completely broken. With sweaty hands, he picked up the paper.

The Blake family members chuckled. They felt very satisfied seeing Ethan's pale face. Sonia folded her arms in front of her chest. “Don't think too long, loser. I can't wait to get a handsome and rich new son-in-law. Shabby person like you better get out of this house before I report you to the police.”

Ethan closed his eyes for a moment. In his brain, his emotions were already peaking. “Alright... if that's what you're asking.”

Ethan quickly picked up the pen and signed the letter. He then stood up from his seat. He glanced at Thalia who was smiling down at him. The woman already felt victorious.

Ethan inhale deep breath. “If that's what you want, then I'll fulfill it, Thalia. However, don't regret your decision. If you come crawling to me and kiss my feet for mercy, then remember ,  I will not forgive you and the Blake family!”

Ethan immediately turned around and walked out. The entire Blake family burst out laughing. Sonia threw 10 coins with 10-cent denominations in front of Ethan. “Take it, you need it to get on the bus!”

Ethan tightened his grip. Even these people were still insulting him when Ethan was at his lowest. They didn't realize what kind of danger awaited them. Ethan walked away from them towards the exit.

There was a heavy downpour of rain. Lightning flashed and the sound was deafening. Not caring about any of that, Ethan walked towards the gate of the Blake family mansion. He turned around and looked at the mansion.

Ethan then raised his left hand high. “Master Volland... I cannot fulfill your request. My duty is over here. And as for the rest of them, I assure you they will be destroyed.”

Ethan closed his eyes. Slowly, his lips mouthed something that was not a human language. Vaguely, several transparent blue ropes appeared in Ethan's left hand. They were very long ropes surrounding the Blake family's estate. And from those ropes, there was a magical wall that protected the Blake residence from the intrusion of invisible creatures. For the past 3 years, Ethan had been protecting the land.

When Ethan finished the spell, he opened his eyes and immediately grasped the ropes tightly. Then he pulled the rope as tightly as he could, making them all cut off. Instantly the magical wall protecting the Blake residence disappeared. From Ethan's vision, the black mists that had previously been unable to enter, now began to approach and search for an opening from the Blake family residence house.

Ethan turned around and left the house without looking back. “This is your own fault. I've been unwilling to protect you from those creatures.”

Ethan walked slowly through the terrain without knowing his destination. After 15 minutes of walking, a Lambo suddenly stopped beside him. A person in a suit and pay got out of the car. He hurriedly came up to Ethan and put his arm around him.

The person smiled. “Mr. Ethan. After 3 years of disappearance, we finally found you. Your protective spell was spotted on our radar, so I immediately searched for your whereabouts. We've been looking for you all this time, the most genius Hunter, Ethan Hunter.”

Ethan glanced at the man. His face seemed familiar, but Ethan couldn't remember what his name was. However, what Ethan can be sure of, this man comes from the Hunters organization. An organization of people with special abilities. Where Ethan used to work.

The man then opened his car door. “Mr. Ethan, maybe it's presumptuous to ask you directly. However, the organization really needs you. Will you follow us to deal with the imminent disaster?”

Ethan narrowed his eyes. The Hunters organization has enemies that are beyond human reason. Monsters, invisible creatures, and other strange phenomena are the dangers they face. If they say disaster, then this is something very serious. In the end Ethan nodded, getting into the car of the person he didn't know the name of.

“Well ... look, who's back. Our radar suddenly picked up a powerful seal magic that was destroyed. It turns out that a legend did it.” A woman in a vertically striped black suit and miniskirt said it coldly. With a faint smile on her red lips, she crossed her arms in front of her chest. Standing at a slight angle as if showing her power in front of Ethan. “It turns out you're still alive, Legendary Demon Hunter, Ethan Hunter.”Ethan narrowed his eyes when he saw this woman. A woman who was too beautiful with very fair skin and long silver hair. At a glance, her tall body was a little full. That body had perfect muscles. Ethan could tell that this woman was strong enough to fight. The fact that she was a General in the Hunters organization was proof that this woman was not a person who can be underestimated. The woman stuck out her hand. “Cornellia Bridgit, General of the Hunters. It's nice to meet a legend like you, Mr. Ethan. I hope you came back not to disturb my position.”Ethan s

A wound that only an object made of silver could produce on a vampire's body.Piers glared in disbelief. “Oh, God...”Ethan opened the barrel of his gun. “Piers! Bullets!”Piers shook his head. “I didn't bring any. I'll look for it right away!”When Piers was about to move to get the bullets, Cornellia chuckled. The woman immediately closed the door and locked it. “There will be no bullets in this room. The ammunition is in another one.”Suddenly Ethan and Piers dropped their plans. Ethan put his revolver back in his pocket. Piers slowly retreated to the edged weapons rack. He picked up a dagger there. Although short-range combat was not his forte, there was no other weapon he could use at the moment.Cornellia turned around. From behind her glasses, Ethan could see her eyeballs turning a red color. Her pupils turned cat-like. The atmosphere

Leaving Piers who was still glued there. Piers' hands became sweaty. He hissed while closing her eyes. “With just one magic he can defeat Miss Cornellia. I've never seen anything like that. Even my abilities are nothing compared to his.”Ethan approached the receptionist. A man with neatly combed hair and a big smile. The receptionist narrowed her eyes slightly. “Welcome, Mr. Ethan Hunter. Welcome back to the Gold Hotel.”Ethan didn't immediately answer the man's greeting. Instead, he took a black card from his wallet and gave it to the man. The receptionist accepted it immediately. The receptionist smiled back. “Ar you gonna use your usual room, Mr. Eth

“Are you out of your mind?” Edward looked at Ethan while wincing at the pain. He immediately looked back. “Niko, Fernand, why are you guys so quiet?”Edward's two friends immediately stood in front of Ethan while glaring at Ethan. They acted like people with power. Unfortunately, such intimidating behavior had no effect on a former General like Ethan. So, Ethan looked at them casually while giving a faint smile.Niko held the collar of Ethan's shirt. “From your smile, you must have done it on purpose. You're looking to die, aren't you?”Ethan pointed at Edward. “He's the one who scared me. That make the thing fell.”Niko pushed Ethan's body until Ethan backed up and his back hit the wall. “Don't fuck around, damn it. Don't you know the Chulkin family?”Ethan didn't answer her. He glanced at Edward's foot. His big toe was very red and swollen. It had probably been fractured. For a person who had never experienced the battlefield, such a thing was already very painful. He stood tall in white clothes and a black suit. A different person to the one Ethan met when he previously entered the Gold Hotel. With slow steps Ethan approached the person. His eyes narrowed slightly, wary of this person. “Do you know my name?”The receptionist nodded. “Mr. Jim told me about you.”Jim was the receptionist who had greeted Ethan earlier. He must have also told this young man that Ethan was a former Demon Hunter. Thus making him friendly to Ethan.Ethan glanced at the name tag on his chest. “Jason... Jim taught you well, Jason.”Jason gave a small smile. He bowed his head in respect. “Thank you. Maybe you haven't remembered, but I'm still alive thanks to Mr. Ethan. A smile of satisfaction was painted on his face. Followers of the creatures of darkness did have a very annoying nature. As devil worshipers, they would be possessed by demons and have various abilities. To the Demon Hunter, they were still human beings. They are not allowed to be killed. However, they also always act as allies of the demons. Making it difficult for the Demon Hunters. Their suddenly blackened corneas were strong evidence that they had demons inside them. The policeman grabbed Ethan's shoulder. “Move! Get in the car. I'll confiscate all the weapons you're carrying.”Ethan walked into the police car, while the security guard smilingly waved his hand. Briefly, Ethan knew the security guard's plan. The cold air mixed with her hot exhale, forming a light mist in the morning.“How long have I been without air like this?” he murmured softly, his eyes gazing at the dense forest on the other side.A wooden signpost stood askew on the side of the road, the writing slightly faded, but still legible: Dogu. Ethan touched the board with a finger, the wood rough and mossy. The village felt unfamiliar to him, but his steps remained steady following the small road that led to it.Along the way, the sound of children's laughter echoed. Some ran around in bare feet, sending dust into the air. A small boy held a battered kite, its string tied tightly in his hand. Sunlight only slipped through a few small cracks in the windows.Ethan scanned the room. Nearly collapsed wooden shelves stood along the walls, filled with dusty bottles and almost illegible labels. The traces of time were clearly imprinted on every corner of the store, from the shabby carpet to the cracked ceiling. He stepped up to the glass display case in the center of the room, looked at the soberly displayed goods, then pressed the small bell on the counter.
