Without a pause, Emily's hand shot out, the slap echoing sharply in the tense silence that followed.

SLAP!

"You sorry excuse for a man!" Emily's voice sliced through the air, dripping with scorn. "Logan's barely out of his twenties, and you, well past fifty. Aren't you ashamed, cowering before someone half your age?"
