Mia wakes up and sees Dean sitting beside her bed.
Behind him was a young woman in a maid outfit.“Good morning Mia, did you sleep well?” He asked, caressing her hair.Mia nodded.“This here is Beatrice” said Dean, pointing to the woman behind him, “She's here to help take care of you and help you get ready”“Ready?” Asked Mia, a little confused, “for what?”“I want us to go to the Department of civil affairs today, so we can register our marriage” said Dean.“Oh” said Mia, lowering her head.Dean sensed her reluctance, which he understood.“You don't seem very pleased with this, if you don't want to, we could…”“NO!” Yelled Mia, panicking.“I want to” she said softly.Dean took her hand and started caressing it softly“Do you think we're moving too fast?” he asked gently.Mia shook her head, Dean had been so nice to her, so she didn't want to risk offending him.She did think they were moving a little fast, but still, Dean was better than any man she had ever known, so if he wanted to marry her, she didn't wish to protest.“Alright then” said Dean as he rose up from her side, “I'll be waiting”.Beatrice would help Mia get ready, and soon she was in the black limousine headed for the Department of civil affairs.During the trip, Dean caught her twiddling her thumbs quite a lot.It was obvious to him that she was nervous, so he tried to ease her tension.“What's wrong, you seem nervous?” Asked Dean.“Yeah, I am a little nervous, If someone had told me last week that I would be married in a few days, I would have called them crazy” she replied.Dean held her hand gently but firmly “Maybe you're right, it is a little crazy, but every so often, we need to do crazy things to get that special thing we truly want” said Dean with a wide smile on his face.Soon they got to the department of civil affairs and went into the building. They sat in the reception hall for a few minutes before a short, plump woman in a purple suit came to meet them.Dean had already pulled some strings and gotten all the verifications and paperwork completed the previous night. So all the woman did was hand them some documents to fills. As they worked to fill the documents, the plump woman couldn't help but marvel at the odd pairing that sat before her.She had seen many different pairs of people come to the department of civil affairs to register their marriage, but this had to be the strangest she had ever seen. Here was this tall, muscular and incredibly handsome man, ready to marry a woman in a wheelchair. She scoffed at the thought at first, as she couldn't believe the man was truly affectionate towards the crippled woman. She felt the woman had to be from a rich family and this man only wanted to marry her for her money. At least she thought that, until he saw how he looked at her, the care and love in his eyes made her heart race. She had been married for 15 years and couldn't remember the last time her husband looked at her like that. After they had finished filling out the paperwork, the plump woman handed them their marriage certificate.Mia waved the piece of paper excitedly in the air.“We did it Timothy, we are married” she said feeling like she had just won the lottery.“Yes we are” said Dean as he leaned down and hugged her.He had signed his false name, Timothy Clarkson, on his marriage certificate. As much as he wanted to use his real name, as much as he wished he could reveal to her his real identity right then and there, he held himself back.As they returned to their car, Mia soon stopped her wheelchair dead in its tracks. She turned her face to look at Dean, and he was stunned by the amount of worry he saw in her eyes.“I don't want to ruin the mood, I know we just got our marriage certificate, but we still need to get my parent's signature on our marriage certificate, or else you'll never be accepted as a true member of the Hamilton family” said Mia.“That shouldn't be a problem, I mean your grandfather did approve of our marriage last night” said DeanMia bowed her head “I don't want to see them” she said “They've been so horrible to me, especially my father, he's barely even spoken to me in years and didn't even bother to attend the engagement ceremony”Dean placed a comforting hand on Mia's shoulder “don't worry Mia, you don't need to fight for their approval or love anymore, you have me now, and I will give you all the love and care you never got from them”Mia smiled as Dean lifted her off her wheelchair and placed her on the limo seat.Throughout their journeys together, Dean had never shied away from lifting Mia's wheelchair along with her in it whenever they arrived at steps that weren't handicap accessible.Mia was slowly starting to believe that Dean might actually like carrying her around.Soon they would arrive at Mia's father, Andrew Hamilton's office. The man was an architect and had a relatively large-sized office for his profession. It was obvious to Dean he was one of the wealthier members of the family.Mia and Dean went inside the reception hall, where they met the receptionist, A tall, blond woman who stood behind the counter.“Hello there my name is Mia, I'm Mr Hamilton's daughter, I'd like to see my father, is he in?”The receptionist looks at her and then looks at Dean, giving him a little seductive wink which caused him to roll his eyes.“Just another woman who thinks she can conquer me with her looks” thought Dean in anger“Yes he's in Miss Hamilton, I'll inform him of your presence and he'll call for you when he's ready, please take a seat in the waiting room” replied the receptionist.Dean and Mia waited thirty whole minutes before the receptionist informed them that Mr Hamilton was ready to see them.Dean observed that in that entire time, no one else had come to see Mr Hamilton and no one had left his office.“Was that how much contempt he had for his own daughter? That he'd leave her out here so long” Dean pondered as they entered into his office. In there set Andrew Hamilton, with a bored look on his face. However, his bored expression changed once he saw Dean.“Hello Mia” he said coldly “And you must be Timothy Clarkson, the man my father chose to marry my daughter” he added turning towards Dean.“Indeed I am Mr Hamilton”“It seems my wife Sophia was right, you are indeed quite a fine-looking man” said Andrew with a devious smile.“Which is a good thing, as it would have been a shame if my daughter had gone on to marry a man who not only had no wealth and status, but also had nothing in terms of looks”Looking at his daughter and seemingly wanting to spite her even more, Andrew added “well it seems like you dodged that bullet my dear, it's a shame you don't dodge cars quite as well”Mia's heart twisted in her chest, this was why she didn't want to come here, this was why she didn't want to see her father. He took every opportunity he could find to mock and insult her.Dean clenched his fist, fuming with anger.HOW DARE HE SPEAK TO HER THAT WAY, HIS OWN DAUGHTER.Dean had to resist the urge to punch the older man square in his jaw.“So?” Asked Andrew, breaking the awkward silence, “what the hell do the two of you want?”Gesturing to Mia, she handed Dean the marriage certificate and he dropped it on Andrew's table.“We'd like you to sign our marriage certificate, officially recognizing our union as part of the Hamilton family” said Dean.As soon as Andrew heard this, he burst out laughing.“Marriage?!, Already?” He asked, wiping a tear from his eye.“I mean I knew you gold diggers worked fast, but I never expected…"“With all due respect Mr Anderson, I didn't marry your daughter to increase my wealth and status” said Dean, cutting Andrew off.“HORSESH*T!!” yelled Andrew slamming his fists on his table.“What do you take me for, a fool?” asked Andrew angrily.“You can't deceive me Timothy, I have seen your background check, you were picked off the street, you have nothing to offer my daughter and everything to take from her”Pointing his finger at his daughter, “and you Mia, don't you dare forget that everything that has ever happened to you is your fault.”“If only you had listened to your mother and me, none of these unfortunate events would have happened to you, and you would not be stuck with a PAUPER!!, as a husband” said Andrew as he grabbed the document and began to sign it.“And now you will reap what you have sown, because it is obvious that you are desperate for someone to find you valuable” added Andrew, signing for both himself and his wife before roughly shoving the document back at Dean.Dean was visibly confused, what did Andrew mean by Mia would reap what she had sown?Dean's thoughts were broken by the sounds of Mia crying besides him.The sight of his wife crying due to what her own father said to her, enraged him beyond belief.“Now, get the hell out of my office”, said Andrew, not even attempting to look at his daughter. This was the last straw for Dean, as he knew he wouldn't let this man get away with making his wife, the woman who saved his life, cry.Dean stood up and quietly pushed Mia's wheelchair out of Andrew's office. However, as the automatic doors closed behind them, Dean grabbed a silver coin from his pocket and aimed it at a cup of piping hot coffee seated in front of Andrew.Using his Herculean strength, Dean flicked the coin at the speed of a bullet. The coin went straight into the cup, shattering it and spilling the burning hot liquids all over Andrew Hamilton's body, table and white suit.Laughing, Dean pushed Mia away, while both the confused and pained screams of his new father-in-law rang from behind him.“At least the scars from that burn would help him understand a little bit of his daughters' pain” thought Dean. The mood as Dean and Mia drove back to the golden estate was a gloom one.Dean had met a lot of scummy and awful people throughout his career, but very few of them would treat their own daughter with such contempt.Mia hadn't said a single word since they came out of her father's office.Dean wanted to know what her father meant when he said that her current predicament was her fault.“What did he mean by that?” asked Dean gently“Who?” asked Mia“Your father, when he said your current predicament was your fault, what did he mean by that?”“Please Timothy, I'm not…. I'm not ready to talk about it yet”.Dean, fully understanding that she was still shaken by the events that occurred with her father earlier, did not want to bring such painful memories back to her.But Dean had promised her that he would be a shoulder for her to lean on, that he would take away her pain. And he was determined to ensure that he fixed the ultimate wrong he had dealt her.Mia would walk again. When they retur
“15 years ago”, Mia began, “My parents were desperately trying to get the Hamilton family closer to the Warrington family”.Dean's eyebrows arched upwards. The Warrington family was one of the most powerful families in Reville, in fact they were part of the quartet known as the “Four heavenly kings”, representing the four most powerful families that basically controlled the city of Reville. And although the Warrington's were the weakest of the four, they were still incredibly powerful and commanded more influence than most could imagine.“They wanted to introduce me to their eldest son, Raymond, hoping that a relationship would form between us which would open the gates to an alliance between our two families" said Mia, still holding on to Dean.“But back then, I was a strong-headed kid… I was also 10 years old, I didn't understand family ties, politics, alliances, cooperations…. I didn't understand anything”.Mia paused and looked up to see Dean staring at her attentively.“However,
Nathan Newton walked briskly to the bakery section of the silver pearl.Today was his father's birthday, and he was there to buy him his favourite pastry as a gift.Behind him were two of his bodyguards.Ex special forces, the highest calibre of soldiers whom he paid handsomely for his protection.Perhaps it was because of this, or his confidence in his own military background and training, that he didn't notice the murderous eyes starting at him from behind. After purchasing the pastry, Nathan smiled heartily, he knew his father was going to love this.Despite the fact he was an old man, he still couldn't say no to his favourite cake.Nathan took the piece of cake and placed it in a white bag. It was expensive, costing almost 2000 dollars on its own.Signalling to his guards to follow him, he began moving towards the exit of the silver pearl.“HEY, WATCH WHERE YOU'RE GOING, YOU FOOL!” screamed Nathan as he suddenly bumped into a brown skinned man coming from his right.“I'm sorry” sai
Dean stood in silence for several minutes, looking at the head of the man who killed his mother. The rush of satisfaction he gained from taking his life had already faded, and he found himself slowly giving into anger. He knew he needed to make this moment more profound, more impactful, not just to him but to the people responsible."THE PEOPLE RESPONSIBLE!" said Dean loudly, as Carlos raised an eyebrow, while still standing in the corner.Nathan might have been the one who killed his mother, but he was merely a pawn, a pawn of the four heavenly kings who were the the true masterminds of his misfortune.Dean smiled to himself, he had just found a way to make this night more impactful."Carlos!" He called pointing in the man's direction."Get the cleaners, clean up the scene, dispose of the car, get a coffin for Nathan, ...and get me a duffle bag"With a smile Dean added "also get me information on the wearabouts of Karl Newton, I'll be paying him a visit tonight".Dean stood in silence
“WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE!?” asked Karl Newton. This was his 70th birthday, who in their right mind had the audacity to barge into his house, in front of his guests, and members of his family.Upon seeing that one of the men was carrying a coffin, Karl immediately knew that something bad was about to happen.“GUARDS!!, GUARDS!!, WHERE THE HELL ARE THE GUARDS!!” He yelled out in vain.“The guards won't be showing up” said Dean, his face still hidden behind the mask.“Don't worry, we didn't kill them, as much as I have problems with the people they work for, I understand they're just doing their job”Looking at the two men in front of him, Karl knew he had to defuse the situation, he didn't know what they wanted, so he had to stall them until someone called the police.“Who are you?” asked Karl.“That's for me to know, and you to find out… and trust me, you will find out” replied Dean.“That's for you to know?” asked Orville in a very annoyed tone.Who did these men think they were
Dean smiled as he let go of Karl Newton's lifeless body.A feeling of intense satisfaction surged through his body, since he knew that Karl had recognized him before he died.He had been able to take down one of the four heavenly kings of Reville, responsible for the death of his mother, in barely a month of returning to Reville. He was already a quarter of the way through with his revenge.Dean looked across the hall room of terrified guests, he knew it wouldn't be too long before the police arrived, but he had to say something to the people in the room first.“Just so you know, all of you here are guilty of something, so count yourselves lucky that it is not I, you have wronged”.With that said, Dean signalled to Carlos, and they both left the Newton mansion. The police would arrive some thirty minutes later, due to a mysterious cyberattack that left their communications jammed. When they arrived, the chaos Dean left in his wake had mostly subsided. All the guests that attended the b
Dean and Carlos left the Newton Mansion shortly after the death of Karl Newton. However, as they exited the large compound, they knew there was a chance the police would be on their trail, so they had to distract them.“Carlos” Dean called.“Yes Boss” responded Carlos.“Hand me the tablet, I need to ensure that the police are kept busy for a while”Carlos then handed Dean his tablet, which Dean then quickly used to hack into the Reville police servers, and quietly locked them down.It would take the police around thirty minutes to an hour to unlock them, enough time for Carlos and Dean, to leave absolutely no evidence of their presence. After this was done, Dean and Carlos got into a waiting limousine, and drove to the Reville cemetery. It was a yearly tradition at this point, for Dean to go visit his mother's grave on the anniversary of her death.A tradition he had started, years before he even returned to Reville.Once the limousine arrived at the cemetery, they both got out of the
“Timmy, I have a question for you”.“Of course Mia, what is it?” asked Dean, taking her hand“I have seen you Timmy, you always tell me how you're not rich, and you consider yourself working class, but you drive a limousine everywhere and live in this incredible palace, how can you afford all his?” Asked Mia curiously.Dean sighed but maintained his smile, he knew Mia would ask this question sooner or later, luckily he had already prepared an answer for her beforehand.“You see Mia, the explanation is quite simple..” responded Dean.“A friend of mine gave it to me”Mia rests her jaw on her fist, while staring at Dean blankly, obviously not buying into the lie.“Really?, you have friends that can afford to give you a place like this for free?” asked Mia in disbelief.Dean smiled, it seemed Mia was prepared to not make this easy for him.“Yes, one of my wealthy friends…. uh, John, and he didn't give it to me for free, I actually don't love here, I am merely watching them for him” replied
