Chapter 11: The Little Goblin Drub

"It is finished, our Lord," the goblin with spiky silver hair said as he approached Aldric. Aldric named him Snik. "We have done as you ordered. The scales have been perfectly arranged."

Aldric nodded and stood up. He cast a fire magic on the scales and burned them until they melted, forming a molten substance.

As the molten substance glowed with intense heat, Aldric skillfully manipulated it, shaping the material into a door that fits the cave's entrance.

"How powerful!"

"Our Lord is powerful!"

The elder goblin Grom and the others yelled with awe.

But Aldric wasn't finished.

He put another layer of scales and attached them to the door. This time, he didn't melt it and just used the fire magic to melt the back of the scales so they would stick together.

He then took the venom he got from the Gila Monster and poured it on the scales, and he conjured a small amount of his own poison-infused blood, adding it to the venom-coated scales.

After all of that work, he used 'All Healing' to heal his wound. Seeing this, the Goblins were shocked, but Aldric chose to ignore it.

'This way, if a monster touches the door, they will be affected by the venom and poison,' Aldric thought strategically. "It serves as defense and offense."

After doing all of this, he uses the Gila Monster's bone as the structural support and finally puts the door and covers the entrance of the cave.

He can't help but smile proudly at his work.

WITH the cave's entrance closed, the cave became dark with only the fire as their source of light.

Thankfully, Aldric has a lot of items to use as fuel, but the bones and skins aren't really good at keeping the fire burning.

'I named the Goblin, and I got money. Maybe I can buy something. Fuels... and clothes would be good. Is it also possible to buy food on the shop too? I better check it later.'

The goblins huddled around the fire while cooking the meat that Aldric gave them while the other goblins were making makeshift beds made from scavenged materials that Aldric also gave them.

They were using a pot to cook and were even putting in some spices that they said they got from stealing from the humans.

Aldric wasn't worried about being poisoned. His poison resistance was at max level, and he also had the Celestial Elixir.

Aldric cast his gaze to the other goblins who were making his bed.

'I didn't even order, and they already made separate rooms for me.'

What's more, two of the male goblins were standing guard in the entrance's cave. They were shaking, but they didn't leave their position as they gritted their teeth, swallowing their fear.

"Your excellence, your bed is ready," Snik said with a nervous but respectful tone.

Aldric acknowledged with a nod, "Thank you."

Snik led him to his room and left him after saying that Aldric could call him if he needed something.

'I really felt like I have become a king.'

As Aldric approached the bed, he couldn't help but feel a mix of surprise and gratitude for the goblins' unexpected diligence.

The makeshift bed, though simple, was neatly arranged with scavenged materials, showcasing the goblins' efforts to provide him with comfort.

'Perhaps having these goblins around isn't such a bad idea,' Aldric thought as he lay down, feeling sleepy and tired.

With the fire flickering in the cave and the goblins settling into their roles, the atmosphere became strangely serene.

'The cave has gotten lively and crowded. I should summon the Dread Wolves when the night approaches.’

ALDRIC and the goblins had all finished their meal, and the night that Aldric had been waiting for had finally arrived.

Soon, strange sounds and snarling came outside the cave.

Aldric watched as the door slightly trembled, and the sound of a fierce growl echoed from the other side before being abruptly replaced by a whimper and then silence, and the cycle continued.

Then, the familiar robotic female voice sounded in his ear.

[You have slain a Nekker]

[You have slain a Nekker]

[You have slain a Burt]

[You have slain a Hell Slime]

[Experience points have reached the fixed amount. Individual Aldric Fellon Level 34 became Level 88]

[All stats have risen by +24,000.]

Aldric had to turn his notification off because it was going nonstop, but he couldn't hide the triumphant smile that crept onto his face.

'It seems that putting poison and venom on the door proved to be worthwhile.'

However, the terrifying sound made the Goblins tremble with fear. Their memory from that night was still fresh in their minds.

"T-They're here… The Curses…"

The Goblins huddled together as their bodies shook. Some were crying and mumbling in fear.

Only the sound of crackling firewood offered them some solace. But the elder Grom and Lavena were only staring at the fire, their thoughts unknown, but Aldric could sense a familiar emotion in them—wrath.

"I wonder when we will be able to sleep in peace…" Lavena mumbled to herself, but it didn't escape Aldric's notice.

"How many people were in your village before the attack?" Aldric decided to ask them.

"M-My Lord?" Elder Grom was taken aback and couldn't answer immediately. He didn't expect Aldric to be curious about them.

Realising that what he did was rude, he answered immediately, "Before the curses attacked, we were a thriving community with over five hundred goblins. Because we were weak and isolated, we became easy prey for the cursed creatures."

Elder Grom's face contorted with anger and curled his hand around his bristle staff, "My wife and daughters… got killed by one of them and the only thing I could do was watch them get ripped apart. I was powerless…" The elder trembled with fury. "I want to kill them all."

"The humans…" Lavena's jaw clenched, her teeth grinding together as if trying to crush the source of her anger, "it's their fault… this wouldn't have happened if they didn't kill the Demon King… All of these are their fault! They should be eradicated! I… I will kill them! They don't deserve to breathe the same air as us."

Aldric could feel the burning embers of hatred in Lavena's eyes. It was a mix of sadness and rage.

Seeing the goblins with wrath in their eyes, Aldric felt a feeling that he could not name, but a bone-chilling smile slowly formed on his face.

If the goblins saw this they would treme in fear.

[The Goblins will receive [Evolution] Aldric Fellon's mana, and skills will be consumed.]

Aldric furrowed his brows.

'Evolution?' He then looked at the goblins but didn't see anything strange. They still look the same. 'Maybe

... it will happen tonight.'

"Protect the Lord!"

"Don't let the monsters get in!"

Aldric turned his gaze to the two goblins who assumed the role of guards at the entrance while their bodies were shaking uncontrollably.

They were pointing their rusty swords in front of the scale door that Aldric made.

Aldric remembered naming the two Brak and Vork.

'Protect who? You couldn't even hold your weapons properly.' Aldric almost said his thoughts out loud.

The Goblins' weapons are so rusty that it is even impossible for them to slash themselves, and they seem to have no proper knowledge about fighting.

'It's not just about their weapons. They lack basic combat skills. Not that I can judge them since I don't either. Maybe after learning the martial arts book, I can teach them, and since I gained money from naming them, I could also buy them weapons.' Aldric nodded. He was planning to buy some skills, but maybe this time, he would buy something else instead. 'I just can't keep buying skills and wasting my money. Now that I'm not alone, I have to consider their needs, too.'

Aldric had enough of watching the goblins and decided to leave them and enter the room that the Goblins made for him.

Since it was already night, he can now summon the Dread Wolves.

He was about to get up when he sensed someone looking at him and when he turned his head around, he saw the little goblin, Drub, looking at him but when Drub met Aldric's gaze, he quickly averted his eyes, pretending not to be looking.

Aldric was about to shrug it off when suddenly the little goblin picked up a weapon on the ground and walked towards the two shaking idiots.

"Protect the mighty one!" the little goblin yelled as he gripped the bone weapon. "I will kill all the monsters! This strong Drub will!"

The two shaking idiots looked at Drub in shock before bursting into laughter.

"You? What can a little goblin like you do?" Vork scoffed, and Brak laughed along.

"Oh, look! The mighty Drub is here to save us!" Brak mocked, his laughter echoing through the cave.

Drub glared at Vork and Brak, who flinched every time the door rattled before he smirked.

"Well, at least I'm not shaking like two scared chickens in front of the mighty Lord. You might want to check your rusty swords. They seem to be quivering more than you two!"

The two goblins stopped laughing, their expressions turning sour as Drub continued to stand tall with his weapon.

Aldric couldn't help but hide a smirk as he entered his room.

Aldric sat on his bed, and with a commanding tone, he uttered, "Come forth."
