Chapter 12

Derek dialed the number again, but the call went unanswered. His mind raced with questions. Who was this mysterious person, and what did they want from him? He couldn't think of anyone he'd wronged, anyone who'd hold a grudge against him.

"What's going on, Sir?" Peter asked, confusion etched on his face. Derek's gaze narrowed, his eyes locking onto Peter.

"I need all the information you have on the Beta Group. Something's off."

Peter hesitated, "Sir, what's the problem?" Derek's expression darkened, his voice stern.

"Just do as I say, Peter. Now."

Peter flinched, muttering a quick apology before scurrying to gather the information.

Derek let out a frustrated hiss, loosening his tie as he sat down. He was certain it wasn't Mr. Luther's voice he heard. With a groan, he tried to focus on his work, but his attention was diverted by a notification on his phone. He

unlocked it to see a chilling message: "Dearest Derek, we have taken 50% of yours. Sincerely, Beta Group."
