142. Stupid, Silly Child.

"How are you going to break the news to them?" Gavin asked, his face ridden with concern as he held her hand as if trying to stop Meghan from walking back into the house to go see her parents.

"I will have to tell them somehow." She looked up at him softly. She kissed him again on his lips. They stood frozen in motion.

"Okay." Gavin said, his words were empty, with a shadow of doubt still lingering in the background.

She broke away from him to go inside, but their fingers were still entwined, so that both their pinkies served as a hook that kept the both of them still in contact as she moved away, untill they broke away, and their pinky connection, snapped like a twig.

Gavin watched her as she went in, trying to resist the feeling that he really might not see her again.

She got back to the sitting room where her parents were. They looked at her plainly. Their eyes were questioning, and she expected them to start pouring down the questions as best as they could.
