18. Securing Investors!

Gavin had just finished the last delivery for the day. Not wanting to offend Mr Brax anymore, he made sure he carried out every delivery promptly and even took in two extra deliveries for the day just to be on his good side.

“Well done, Gavin, you did a nice job today,” the senior manager at the company said as Gavin made way to the cloak room to change back into the clothes he had worn to work that morning.

“Thank you, sir.” Gavin replied, smiling at the supervisor's satisfactory remark on his job.

Just as he was about signing out for the day, his phone rang and it was Meghan calling, crying on the phone as she spoke.

“What's wrong?” Gavin inquired, as it was very unusual for Meghan to cry except it was something very serious but Meghan didn't say a word before the call ended abruptly.

Gavin tried reaching her immediately but her phone wasn't going through any longer prompting him to sign out in a hurry, hail the first cab that came his way and hurried home straight away.
