Chapter three

A taxi drove to a stop in front of Black Oil Incorporated's local branch. Oliver stepped down from the taxi and eyed the building.

He paid the cabbie off and approached the establishment, but the security man standing there stretched forth his hand and pushed Oliver back.

"You cannot come inside," the security man said to him with disdain. Oliver arched his brow.

"What do you mean? This company allows access for everyone, do they not?" Oliver questioned.

"This company is a fast-rising advanced tech company that opens its doors to potential customers alone. You are not a potential customer! Take a look at yourself. You're a poor tramp in old, worn-out clothes. You belong in an asylum. Leave, or I will kick you out myself!!" The security man yelled at Oliver.

Oliver frowned. His anger slowly twisted his heart as he dipped his hand into his pocket and took out a ring.

The ring was made of pure gold and had a large "B" engraved on it.

The security man watched as Oliver wore the ring, and looked him straight in the eye.

"I am Oliver Blaze, owner of Blaze Financials, and the person who's becoming your new boss. Step aside, or you will lose your job!" Oliver snapped at the security man.

The security man shuddered as he gazed at Oliver. Was it true? Was this poor-looking guy the owner of the largest financial company in the country? And what did he mean by he would become the new boss?

"I don't believe you. That ring could be a fake!" He said and crossed his arms.

The security man opened his mouth to say something else, but a female voice quickly cut him off.

"Let him through! How dare you keep Mr Blaze outside? Don't you know who he is?" She yelled at the security man before she quickly turned to Oliver.

"I'm very sorry, Mr Blaze. My name is Geena. I'll be your aid today. Please, follow me," Geena said to Oliver and led him in.

The security man watched in shock. What the heck just happened?

"Forgive that act of arrogance, Mr Blaze. He didn't know who you were," Geena said to Oliver.

"How did you recognize me?" He asked her. She took a turn and headed to an office.

"I saw your ring. We were already informed that you'd be visiting us today. I just kept my eyes open," she added.

"You're a very attentive lady. Perhaps you deserve more than this job," he told her and she blushed.

"Well, this is all I've got for now. But things will be better soon. I hope so," she added and stepped into an office where a guy in a suit was busy tapping on the laptop.

As soon as he raised his head and saw Oliver standing there, his face darkened and his eyes lit up in fury.

"What in the heavens is this beggar doing in my office? Geena, who the heck is this and why have you brought him here?" The guy yelled.

Oliver gritted his teeth.

"Sir! He's not a beggar. This is Oliver Blaze," Geena replied to the guy who scoffed.

"Yeah? And I am Bill Gates! Get this thing out of my office, now! And if you ever make this mistake again, I'll fire you!!" The guy said to Geena who quickly cowered.

"No. It is you who is fired!" Oliver suddenly said to the guy who frowned while rising to his feet.

"What did you just say?" The guy asked.

"You are fired! In case you missed it, I purchased Black Oil Incorporated last night for forty billion dollars. Everything this company has now belongs to me. I only came here to finalize the contract. How dare you speak to me in such a manner?" Oliver fumed.

The guy quickly logged on to his laptop and checked the company's mail. To his greatest surprise, there was a mail stating a change of ownership to Oliver Blaze.

The guy gasped as he read the mail. He knew he was done for.

"Mr Blaze, please, I'm sorry. I didn't know who you are-"

"Just because a person is poor doesn't mean you should treat them like trash. You're fired. Geena will take your place, now!" Oliver replied.

The guy shuddered as he picked up his things and quickly left the office. Geena, dumbfounded, headed to the system and brought out the final draft for Oliver to sign.

As soon as Oliver signed it, he smiled at Geena who was too stunned to even say anything.

"Wanna go out with me tonight?" He asked her, and she smiled.

"Yes sir, of course," she replied to him.

"But first, terminate your contract with Dominick Torino," Oliver told her.

"On it, sir," Geena said and quickly terminated the contract.

Just like that, the contract ended.

Later that night, Oliver took Geena to a five-star restaurant.

While they were having dinner, a familiar voice suddenly laughed over Oliver.

"Well, well, look who we have here," Cara said to them while she stood there with Dominick. They had come for dinner too.

"How did you get in here, Oliver? And who is this woman? You didn't even wait for me to dump you before you tried making a move on another rich lady?" Cara scoffed.

"You're such a pathetic man, Oliver!" She added and laughed again. People gazed at them.

Just as Geena was about to respond, Oliver touched her hand lightly. He turned to Cara with a smirk on his face.

"You want a divorce so bad? Fine. I'll grant you your divorce!" He snapped at her.

Cara exchanged glances with Dominick in shock. What was going on? Oliver didn't want to divorce her the previous day. Why did he suddenly change his mind?

"You know what? Great! I'll be done with you!!" Cara said and took out the document that surprisingly, she carried with her.

Oliver signed and gave it to her. At that moment, something told Cara that she'd made a big mistake, but she couldn't put her finger on it.

"Here's tonight's special order, sir. The starfish dinner costs seven hundred thousand dollars," a waiter said to Oliver and placed the meal on the table.

Both Cara and Dominick exchanged glances. That didn't just happen, did it?

"Sir, ma'am, this restaurant is currently filled. There's no table for you both. You would have to leave," the waiter said to Cara and Dominick.

Cara frowned.

"What? How can you send us out when these trash are eating here? And did you give them the night's special? How will he pay for that? He's a poor guy without a job! Even if he does the dishes here for ten years, he can't make that money," Cara replied.

The waiter frowned.

"He paid in full, ma'am. Do not try to slander our top customer. Leave now, or I will call security!" The waiter said to Cara.

What did he mean by Oliver paid in full? There had to be a mistake. As far as Cara was concerned, Oliver had nothing. The lady definitely paid, not Oliver!

Cara rolled her eyes.

"Fine! Whatever!! Your loss!!!" She snapped and walked out angrily. Dominick stared at Oliver before he walked out as well.

Oliver smiled. There was more to come. He wasn't done with them yet!
