CHAPTER TEN

After breakfast, Sarah and I took a walk to the back garden of the palace. The back garden was very beautiful, with different types of exotic and nearly extinct plants there.

In the garden, you can see different colours and species of birds flying around. This place was a safe haven for these birds because they had been hunted outside of this place.

We walked on the marble walkway and by the side of the walkway; you can see heroes, generals and kings as you walk down the pavement.

We got to the centre of the garden and there was a statue of the first king of Gales kingdom. The stature was at least 10 meters tall and it was so life like that you could feel pressured just looking at it.

On the four corners of the stature, stone slaps with the biography of the king written on them. His name was Vincent Yates, the first divine sword saint of the kingdom.

After we passed the stature, we came to a pavilion and sat down. Sarah took her seat opposite me, I know she has a lot of questions but I kept quiet and started making a pot of tea for both of us.

“Ok princess asks, ask your question”, I said and placed a cup of tea in front of her.

“What happened to you Peter, and don’t give me that woke up like this nonsense, what really happened,” she asked not picking up the cup in front of her.

“I felt that you changed after your awakening, so if you trust me enough tell me please”, she said pleadingly. I saw her pitiful face and decided to tell her.

“What do you know about dragons,” I asked her and then took a sip of my tea.

“Dragons are majestic and mysterious beings that once ruled the lands hundreds of years ago and they also fought against the evil demon god five hundred years ago to restore peace before hiding away from the world of man” she replied and took a sip of her tea.

“The dragons are creatures born of magic and have the highest level of magic known to the world and were powerful in combat,” she continued.

“What are the characteristics used to identify a dragon”, I asked her and she looked at me wondering why I was asking these questions.

“Dragons have extreme sturdy bodies even when they are in their human forms, with extremely long hair and the dragon eyes are always the colour of the element they control, with their pupils glowing a golden colour if observed closely,” she said then her movement as she was about to take a sip of her tea.

She looked into my eyes and saw the golden pupils in them and her eyes widen in disbelief.

            “Don’t tell me that..”

“I have blessed the power of the dragons during my awakening”, I said interrupting her. She stood up as I said that dropping the cup of tea in her hand.

“Calm down Sarah, I will explain everything to but you have to promise not to tell anybody about it”, I said and pour a new cup of tea for her.

I explained from the beginning. From the attack on at the mountain to the meeting, the dragons and myself from future power to her patiently. She sat there listening with both her hands holding the cup of tea tightly.

“There you have it, I am now part dragon part human, courtesy of the Dragons,” I told as I finished explaining everything.

After I told her everything, she left for her room. I knew it would be hard to take in since her close just switched race like that. I sat down at the pavilion for a few more minutes before heading to my room.

When got to the room, I sat down at the reading table in the corner to check out the book on mana manipulation. Since I had the knowledge of dragons, it was quite easy for me to understand. I even made some changes to it, so I can give it to Sarah, for her to understand it quickly.

I focused on the book until I got knocked on my door signalling that it was lunchtime.

I got to the dining room and saw Sarah sitting in her usual position. She turned to look at me with a smile on her face and I knew she was ok with everything.

After lunch, she dragged me to the study and started asking me questions about how strong I am, did I see the dragons in their human form and so on.

I answered her unending questions before I brought out the book on mana manipulation that I made for her and gave it to her. I told her the steps and how to tap into her magic much faster to help her cast faster spells.

I explained everything to her still it was dinnertime. After dinner, we went to our rooms and I focused on trying out a level fire spell ‘fire ball’. It took me a while but I was able to cast the spell after hours of trying and it was already past midnight, so I decided to continue the next day.

In three days I was able to master the fireball spell to the extent of casting three at once in under 0.5 seconds, which was amazing, based on the fact that I had just gotten used to magic.

Sarah started her magic training under the guidance of Miss Helen and with the help of the book I gave her on mana manipulation; she was able to make a wind blade in just a week. That girl’s talent was terrifying, even for me with my vast knowledge of magic.

The day came that the king said he would take me to pick a weapon in the palace vault and was very excited. After breakfast, the king, the queen, Sarah and I headed to the vault in the lower chambers of the palace.

It was the face time I have been to this section since it was off limit to others. We walked down a long passage with touches lit in every five steps we take.

We got to a majestic-looking golden door, with two guards by the side. There was the third aura knight, which was quite powerful. They bowed as we approached them and the king placed his hands on the door.

A green magic circle showed up and then disappeared, followed by the sound of metallic clicking that could be heard before the doors were opened from within.
