(The Next Day)

"Wake up Elijah, it's time for you to go to school. Do you want to miss the awakening ceremony." A soft feminine voice said as she shook Elijah who was sprawled on the bed like a log.

"Mmmm, I want to sleep a bit longer," Elijah muttered turning around on the bed.

"You've been sleeping for more than half a day. Besides, you have to go for the awakening ceremony. So be good and get up." The feminine voice replied, trying to shake Elijah awake.

"Sister, I want to..."

Elijah muttered, but all of a sudden, he stopped in between his words. His eyes flashed opened and jumped out of the bed in fright.

"Sister, what are you doing here?" Elijah patted his chest, trying to calm his thumping heart flaring at the figure. At the same time using the quilt to cover his body.

From his predecessor's memories, his sister was at the university. As a result, she didn't get to come home except once a month.

Emily rolled her eyes as she smiled at Elijah, "Why can't I come back?"

"But you weren't supposed to come back till about two weeks..." Elijah stuttered, glaring at his sister.

"I came back yesterday afternoon and met you sleeping. I didn't want to disturb you so I left you alone. But you'll miss the awakening ceremony if you continue to sleep this way." Emily changed the topic, pulling up Elijah who had laid back on the bed.

"Alright, you should get ready and go to school for the awakening ceremony and see what talent you'll awaken. Don't disappoint me brother," She continued, walking out of the room.

At that moment, Elijah realized that his sister had come back for his awakening ceremony. He couldn't help but feel a twinge in his heart. Back on earth, he was an orphan, so he had no feel of what it had to be cared for.

He felt touched seeing Emily come back from the University which was far from their house just to celebrate his awakening ceremony. Pushing all matters to the back of his mind, he hurried out of bed.

As a modern person, he wanted to see what abilities he could awaken. He had watched many movies back on earth about people with magical powers and couldn't wait to awaken one.

"Elijah, eat something before you go. It's not too late." Emily called out from the kitchen seeing Elijah walking out of his room.

"Don't worry sis, I'll eat when I get back," Elijah we waved his hands rushing out of the house.

In no time, Elijah got to school. The atmosphere at school was sdifferent. Today was the awakening ceremony.

As a result, many students who had come of age were very excited.

Elijah smiled walking into the large hall which was to be used.

The hall which was big enough to accommodate a thousand people was now filled with people. On the podium were reserved seats. Obviously for people sent by the universities to recruit those who were able to awaken powerful magical abilities.

Elijah smiled and sat in a corner as he waited for the ceremony to begin. His predecessor didn't have any friends because of his reputation. Elijah felt rather comfortable with this and praised his predecessor in his heart.

Being lazy also had its perks. He couldn't be bothered to enage in the small talks anyways.

Soon, the principal of the school walked into the hall, beside him were the people sent to recruit the talents.

Seeing him, the hall immediately became silent. The principal, a tall middle aged man, walked up onto the podium and gave a small speech. In no time, the awakening ceremony began.

"Amelia Johnson."

The person in charge of the ceremony called as he looked at a long list of names.

Next, a tall girl around the age of Elijah walked to the podium and placed her hands on the big blue stone.

A powerful red light shone almost immediately, illuminating the whole hall.

"Fire ability; Rare. Talent: Glowing Stone." The person in charge of the ceremony said as he looked at the girl in shock.

"Don't you know that she's from Evans family. A family of fire mages?"

"It'll be strange if she also doesn't awaken a fire ability!"

Many students began to whisper to themselves as they stared at Amelia wishing they could take her place.

"Amelia Johnson, my name is Bradford Carter, from Boston University. If you join our university, we'll provide you the resources that'll cultivate you to the Adept Core Realm. Also you'll have the full support of our university and study under the best lecturer in the university." A tall man stepped forward.

"Amelia Johnson, I'm Edward from Edgar University, though we can't promise to provide you with Cultivation resources to cultivate you to the level one mage, we promise we'll do our best." Another man, a short chubby man stepped forward.

Soon, the others also stepped forward and offered their benefits not wanting to lose out on such a talent. It would be a loss if they lost on such a talent.

Fire element, was a rare and destructive element, so it was understandable that they all wanted her. What more, her talent was the glowing stone.

This meant that her affinity to fire was high. Also, when she broke through to other realms, she had higher chances of affinity to other elements.

After a while, Amelia finally accepted the offer of the Boston University before going back to her seat.

"James Edward." The person calling the names called the second name right after Amelia went to sit.

Soon, a tall lanky figure walked up onto the podium and put his hands on the big blue stone.

Soon, a black light shone, turning the place into darkness almost instantly.

Elijah frowned as he looked at the light, he couldn't understand what light was and what it represented.

His predecessor didn't care about books, as a result, he could recall any of the Elements which was said to emit a black light on awakening.

"Shadow element; Rare; Talent, glowing stone."

The man's voice came, bringing Elijah out of his thoughts.

Elijah nodded as he finally remembered what ability it was.

"Water element; common. Talent: Flickering Stone."

"Space element; super rare. Talent: Radiant Stone."

"Earth Element; common. Talent: Dim stone."

The person calling out the names and talents announced incessantly as he called out the abilities of students who came up to the podium to get their talents awakened.

Elijah watched lazily as the person called out the talents while waiting for his name to be called.

Out of the five hundred-plus students that had been called, only three students had awakened an impressive ability with high talents.

"Elijah West."

Elijah suddenly heard his name. Instantly he stood up and walked towards the podium slowly.

"Isn't that Emily's Younger brother?"

"Yes, I bet he's going to awaken either the lighting element just like his sister or the fire element."

"He's lucky, he has a good bloodline, there's a chance that he might awaken both elements."

"Don't you think it's impossible, only freaks can awaken two elements at the same time."

Whispers went all around as everyone looked at Elijah expectantly, even though he was known for his lazy attitude, they still wondered if he would be able to awaken a super rare element.

Getting to the podium, Elijah braced himself and put his hands on the big blue stone. Immediately, he felt a surge of energy rush into his body. The next moment, a formless light lit up and spread all around the place, brighter than any of the lights seen.

"Huh?" Everyone froze seeing this.

The person calling out the names was even more shocked, but soon, his expression changed as he looked at Elijah in disgust, and then he called out coldly.

"Clone ability; Rare; Talent: Blazing Stone.”

Walking into the forest, Elijah looked around with a hint of amazement. The forest was not as he had thought, behind the tall trees was an entirely different world. It looked lush and the forest excluded a strange sense of beauty with flowers all around. Apart from the birds chirping away, there was nothing to be heard again. The place was extremely silent which showed that the students had long left that place. Elijah was not a bit surprised. This was a mystic realm and it would be surprising if it wasn't big. Sighing, Elijah looked around wondering where he should go. He had to hunt beasts and get their cores so he would be able to exchange them with cultivation resources at the school, but then, there were no beasts nearby. Besides, he was incompletely prepared. Apart from the fireball spell he had learned yesterday, he didn't know any other spell. Also, all he came with, was a dagger his sister had given to him just in case. Once he did, that would be the end of everything and he would become a meal for the direwolf. But then the chant was not completed. Besides, he needed to concentrate or else the spell was going to end up backfiring. Knowing quite well the danger, Elijah concentrated on the chant. Elijah was shocked seeing this, but there was no time to be surprised. He had to act, the direwolf was almost close to him. After a while, Elijah sat up, not minding that he was inside a pool of blood, he began to absorb the blood essence of the direwolf. He had already wasted a lot of time and if he wasted even more time, the blood essence would dissipate. Blood essence was essential for body cultivators as the blood essence could help them increase their body Cultivation even though the effects were minimal. The higher the level of a beast, the more valuable the blood essence was. Though the direwolf was just a Low-level Soldier beast, Elijah wasn't willing to let go of the blood essences. He had suffered a lot before he was able to kill the beast, there was no way he was going to let it go. After a while, Elijah opened his eyes. He could feel his bones harden and could

Much to his surprise, there was no direwolf following him, it seemed like they had followed one of his clones.
