CHAPTER 6

''Because I'm your father,'' the man in the black suit took off his glasses as he tells the truth. There was an unexplainable feeling he felt when he noticed that their eye color was similar. It was emerald. There was no mirror but he saw his reflection.

''Pardon me? What did you say?'' Oliver was nervous. He stand to get close to him.

''You are my long lost son,'' the man cleared. His knees weakened but holding on to the car's door supported his stance.

"What a nice joke!" Oliver laughed out loud, not believing what the man said, thinking that he might be mistaken. He looked around to check if there are pranksters who are filming him secretly.

"I'm sorry, son," the apologized, his face was serious, ''I've been looking for you. Finally, I found you,'' tears almost escaped from the old man's eyes.

He touched his shoulders but Oliver backed away.

''I-I don't have a father,'' he claimed. Only a grandma who find him in the dark alley where he was left behind.

''You have a father. It was me,'' the man admitted, ''You grew up thinking you have no father but I'm on the other side wondering where you are. It breaks me to know I have lost you for two decades,'' hearing those words from him didn't move him at all.

''Really? Did you try to find me? Or you're just an irresponsible father who did nothing and left me?!'' Oliver whined, ''Yes, you find me but it's too late!'' Oliver wondered, he just came out of nowhere and expect him to just cry and come with him after all those years he suffered when he was left in the dark streets of this city.

The man didn't answer. He went back to the limousine and Oliver was led by the driver led in the back. When they were inside, his father handed him a document. ''What's this?'' he flipped it and saw that it was a DNA test. The paternity shows that 99.99 percent, he is his biological father.

"Your mom was a worker in a bar, we had a one-night stand and I fell in love with her so I want to get her out of there. We dated for months but she suddenly vanished and I can't find her anywhere. Not anymore." the man shared while smoking a cigarette, "One night. I find that she died in an accident and it was more painful to know she gave birth all alone but left the baby on the streets. After that, I tried to roam every street, checking some garbages, and asking some random citizens but I was hopeless when I found a dead baby and thought that it was you." He remembered the tragic night.

"But I suspected an old woman who is aloof. She was always embracing a baby and kept it like her own. I tried to ask her but she doesn't give me an answer. That's when I tried to snatch the baby but it cried loudly and only the grandma can pacify it," there was sadness in his voice. "From that day. I stopped forcing the lady to give me the baby but I just helped her financially. She didn't refuse and let me see the child from afar."

Oliver suddenly remembers a memory of his childhood, there was a man in a suit who always gives him some chocolates and toys. He was kind and treat him like his own son and he also promised him that one day he will take him to a party. But his grandma stopped him and told him he shouldn't come with him because he is dangerous.

And one day that man didn't come back when he waited for him to take him to a party he promised.

"When my wife gave me a son. I suddenly stopped reaching out to you. I gave up believing that you're my son when I was manipulated by a fake DNA test. Fortunately. I'm still determined to know who you are. I'm surprised to find you working on my company and I was amazed at the way you've gone so far." he looked at Oliver with a smile on his face. He was a proud father.

Oliver can't help but feel sorry to hear his side but still, he couldn't understand why he was let suffer for that long.

Later on. They reached the destination and Oliver was a bit nervous when they were walking inside the big white mansion. He can see how wealthy his father is. He can't also process in my mind that he has a rich father.

"Welcome to your home," his father tapped his back as his eyes wandered the place that seems like the palace of the king. It was fascinating but Oliver never dreamt of living in a luxurious mansion.

Because he used to live in a small room.

There was a grand big double staircase and a crystal chandelier spinning in the ceiling and a man in a red suit walked down the stair that sent shivers down his spine.

"I want you to meet, Carter Russo Johnson. You're stepbrother," he introduced him to the man who steal his girlfriend.

His jaw clenched as it was the worst turning point he ever encountered in his whole life.
