CHAPTER EIGHT

Kevin stood before the mirror, dressed in a simple yet impeccably fitted shirt and pants, giving a vision of understated elegance. The shirt, a crisp white, clung to his body like a second skin, accentuating his athletic build and hinting at the strength beneath.

The fabrics showcased his broad shoulders and chest, revealing confidence in every stitch. His was equally captivating, his deep eyes held a magnetic allure and his chiseled jawline exuded determination.

Kevin, feeling content with his appearance, whistled cheerfully as he descended towards the garage.

He hopped on his motorbike and drove to one of the fanciest hotel in Veridonia, the Kings hotel.

After parking his motorbike outside the lobby, he quickly fixed his wind-swept hair and stepped down on the pavement.

“Kevin! Is that you?”

A handsome man stucked his head out from an Audi A8 window and waved excitedly to Kevin.

The moment Kevin saw him, his eyes was filled with surprise

“Tyler! Look at you… you haven’t aged a day. Something tells me you’re still just as popular as you’ve always were.”

Tyler grinned back,

“Well, let’s just say… I’m a lucky guy”

Kevin smiled, “Love it for you,   Tyler.”

Tyler got out of his car and saw Kevin’s motorbike,

“Kevin, did you ride this motorbike that exudes a timeless allure and a testament to its enduring character here?”

They both laughed,

“Yes Tyler… it’s one of the first things I bought with my own money”

Tyler paused and shrugged his shoulders,

“Beautiful… what do you say? Should we head in and see who else has aged beautifully or maybe poorly?”

They both grinned.

As soon as Tyler and Kevin entered the room, everyone turned to greet them.

“Tyler! It’s so good to see you

A familiar man yelled

Tyler waved back

“Look who I brought with me, Kevin’s all grown up”

The familiar man waved at Kevin and whispered to one of his former classmate’s ears

“Kevin’s changed a lot! He used to be an outcast but look at him now, it seems like he is on the same level as Tyler. Maybe there’s more to Kevin that meets the eye.”

“I think you’re right…”

The former classmate replied.

Walking around the room, Kevin thought to himself

“Wow! I’m the most under dressed person here and I love it! I like being underestimated.”

With a big smile, Kevin turned to his right

“Hey Tyler, I’m going to grab a sit. Let’s catch up more later.”

“Sure thing, dude.”

Tyler replied

Sitting in an empty table, Kevin was happy to have a little space. It has been a while since he had seen everyone and it was nice to sit back and take everything in.

Kevin gasped when he saw his former classmate, Kate enter the room.

“Wow! She looks stunning. I’m not surprised tho… Kate was the most popular girl in high school. I thought she would have left Veridonia by now.”

Just as Kevin lifted his hand to wave at Kate, Tyler quickly jumped in front of him and yelled,

“Hey Kate… Did you forget about me?”

Kate walked over with an annoying smile on her face,

“Tyler! You haven’t changed one bit.”

Tyler laughed,

“You say that like it’s a bad thing”

Kate tilted her head to the side and laughed

“It’s not that bad.”

Tyler smiled, “Look at you now, Kate… You look amazing. What are you up to?”

Kate bit her bottom lip,

“Well, I know it’s a bit cliché but, I’m about to sign with an agency.”

“Oh shit! You are really doing it.”

Kate’s cheeks turned red, “Well, I’m trying to… I haven’t signed anything yet but it’s looking good.”

“You’re always meant for bigger things Kate. To think that, I’d be able to say, ‘I knew her when’.”

Tyler grinned.

Suddenly, a group of girls sat down at the table with Kevin.

One of the girls turned to the other and whispered,

“I heard that Kate is about to become a superstar! She’s too sweet to ever brag about it but, Kate is going to sign with William’s Media next week.”

Another girl replied,

“No way… William’s Media is the biggest entertainment company in Veridonia! If Kate signs with them, then she’ll be famous before we know it.”

A small lousy girl popped out from her seat,

“I’m going to ask Kate for an autograph…”

The two other girls noded,

“Good idea! It might be worth something one day.”

They all went over to Kate,

“Hey Kate, can we have your autograph?”

The three girls harmonized and stayed in the space between Kate and Tyler

Seeing Kate handle them with grace and humility, Kevin smiled to himself

“Good for Kate… I’m so glad that she’s still pursuing her dreams and if she is really signing with William’s Media, I should get to know her better. After all as of tomorrow, I will be the official owner of William’s Media. This will be a good chance for me to familiarize myself wsith my clients.”

Just then, Kate and Tyler came and sat down at the table with Kevin.

Turning to his right, Kevin gasped to himself

“Just my luck! Kate sat down next to me. Something tells me I’m going to love running William’s Media… I’ll finally have a chance to create my own empire”

Looking into Kate’s beautiful almond-shaped eyes, Kevin smiled to himself

“But first things first, I need to go to talk to my soon-to-be client”

Kevin felt a little bit excited as the idea of running William’s Media and talking to Kate goes through his mind.

This was a stepping stone to his long-awaited success.
